John McCoy, ladies and gentlemen.

It's a very great privilege and honor for me to be back in the fair city of Los Angeles. I want to thank the Fries, Ralph Huffman, all the units of understanding, and the Kinghams, and all the rest of you who have made it possible for me to be here today. We feel that we bring you special greetings from Peru, the land of the sun. We meet at a crucial time. We find that man now has his first foothold in outer space, puny as that first foothold might be. But there's no question about it, we have some red stars shining in the heavens above us. Friends, the handwriting... The handwriting of our era is on the wall of time. The signs of God are for those that discern them. Now, whether we happen to believe in the existence of unidentified flying objects or not, I don't think that's too important from this standpoint. But is it not obvious that our world stands at the crossroads? Listen to the TV, the radio, look at the newspapers. Don't forget about UFOs, but just take the happenings that are going on in the world today.

And you can see the handwriting upon our wall of time. Now, some people know that there is handwriting there, but they can't read it. For those that investigate and look, they may be, like Daniel of old, able to read the handwriting on the wall. I'm sure you'll appreciate the fact that it's impossible today to give you a proper background in UFOs or in lost cities of South America. Unfortunately, or fortunately as the case may be, we have two or three lectures in one. When we first gave it in Miami, Florida in October, it was three hours long. And we had to cut it down to two hours, and now it's about an hour and a half. So therefore, we have to move along very quickly and only give you the most meaty and important portions to develop a proper background for you in the understanding of what we're trying to bring together here. Frankly, before I left Peru and I'm going over notes and going through material, I wondered how I'd ever be able to even talk on the subject. There's so much to it that, you know, when there's so much, then you just can't say anything.

So therefore, I'm sure most of you have a proper background in the study of UFOs. If not, why, make the various books and things that are available available to you. Make them available to yourself to get this background. Also, today, when I say the UFO intelligences have said this or they have said that, it may be frustrating to some of you. Somewhat disappointing, wondering, well, what does it mean they said this or they said that? When and where did they say it, and how do we know it's true? I'm referring specifically to radio telegraphic context of 1952 and 3, a few things now which can be brought out, and also to other contexts, many other contexts, that we believe to be authentic. I won't specify where these things came from, but you can get them from the various reports and so on that have been published in the past. Also, I don't feel that it's too important if one particular man has an experience. If a person talks to a flying saucer occupant on the desert, or if a radio man talks to saucers by radio telegraphy,

just how important is that? Now, it's a very novel and a very entertaining experience to the one who has it, of course, I grant you. But what is it going to mean to the rest of you? These things have to be related in a way that is going to have a basis and an importance for the people of the world. How it's going to influence the rest of the world, this is what we must consider. Let us not be too concerned about whether a thing is true or whether it is untrue. Because remember the famous words of Sir Francis Bacon, Truth is the daughter of time, not of authority. If UFOs do not exist, we have absolutely nothing to be concerned about. But if they do exist and are coming from outer space, which I firmly believe that they are, then that fact is going to affect the life and change the life of every single one of us here today. And it will do it very quickly. That fact, ladies and gentlemen, is a too important fact to neglect. Also, I feel that you have not come here today to hear my opinions, because, at best, they are only the opinions of one person.

They are the opinions of one man. But I do feel that my experiences are important, especially the experiences of the past year, which give us the title for today's lecture, The Lost World and the UFOs. I don't want to give you much of a background about myself and how I became interested in this study, but very briefly, before we get into the main part of the lecture, in 1947 I heard of the UFOs, as many of you did, then facetiously called the flying saucers. I figured that perhaps they were experiments by our own government. It was only a short time after World War II, and I thought our government was experimenting with rockets and other devices for the eventual conquest of space, and that is what the UFOs were. Very shortly after this, I went up into Minnesota and into the Dakotas to study the Chippewa and the Sioux Indians. Here I collected legends that had never been collected before amongst these people. Very soon I realized, and it was shortly after reading Major Donnelly Kehoe's first book, the little paper-bound book, Flying Saucers Are Real,

that I realized that whatever these things were, they had been seen for a very long time, a long time back into the past, because the Chippewa and the Sioux, and also other tribes of the United States, had similar stories. The Navajo and Paiute spoke of the Habmusus, the little people that came in the flying boats, and the Chippewas and Sioux had similar legends also. Then I found that most Indians, North, Central, and South America in this entire hemisphere, had similar stories. Going even further to the rest of the world, we find that in Egypt during the time of the Pharaoh Thutmose III several thousand years ago, the papyrus records tell of the fire circles. One day, the Pharaoh Thutmose was out with the army, and these objects came down very low, apparently intelligently controlled, glowing, and without making any sound. The priests and the soldiers threw themselves to the ground very much frightened. This is all recorded in the Egyptian papyrus records. Fire circles in Egypt. We find them called vermanas, or flying boats, in India.

We find them called flaming chariots, perhaps, in our own holy scriptures. And in Hawaii, over a thousand years ago, they were known as the flying spirits. I soon realized that UFOs had been seen for a very long time, that they were not something new. Going from UFOs to lost cities for just a moment, when I was seven or eight years old, I heard of the great work that had been done by the famous British explorer, Colonel P.H. Fawcett, who was lost in the jungles of the Mato Grosso in Brazil just a few months before I was born in 1926. I became fascinated by this story, and I didn't know how or why, but I had to go back. I had to go, rather, to South America, back to where Fawcett had done his work. I knew that there was a job to be done there. I really believed that these cities existed. I believed in this man's work. Later on, when I got into school, I read a book called Columbus Came Late, by Mason, in which he said, It is conceivable that somewhere under the jungle of South America will be found the remains of a civilization higher

than any of the early cultures of which we are now aware. However, when I became interested and convinced of the UFO reality, I suddenly lost hope. I lost my former interest in lost cities. I thought, Why in heaven's name do I want to pursue the study of old skeletons and dusty cities and old stones and so on? Because here is something of the present that is so glorious with a wonderful promise for man's future that I don't want to be concerned with the past anymore. I was soon to be rudely awakened, however, when I realized that the ancient past very definitely ties in with the present and most certainly with our future. In 1952 and 3, during radio telegraphic contact with the UFO intelligences, they made certain statements which I figured could later be validated or disproven by scientific discovery. One of the statements was that our entire universe, or our entire solar system rather, which of course includes our planet, the Earth, was moving into a new area of space, a new area of the universe. Now, what did this mean, I thought?

Every moment of the day, we're moving into a new area of space. What do they mean, this new area of space, or this new area of the universe, is to be so important? They said that very shortly, discoveries would be made that prove that the cosmic ray bombardment was increasing at a fantastic rate and that the electron count would speed up. Sure enough, in the early part of 1954, about almost two years after the UFOs had made this statement, Dr. Kurt Seidt, Nobel physicist from Syracuse University in New York, made the announcement while working high in the Colorado mountains. He had discovered that the cosmic ray bombardment had increased. The electron count had speeded up. Now, this was reported in a highly technical and specialized journal. It never reached any other publicity outside of this journal, as far as I know. Wishing to prove his statements further, he became an exchange professor at the University of Sao Paulo in Brazil. Working 18,000 feet high in the mountains, he found the same data. Now, shortly on the heels of this discovery,

Professor Vaino Auer, one of the world's foremost geographers at Finland's Helsinki University, announced that the increase in the cosmic ray bombardment was destroying much of the bacterial life of Earth and that if this continued, it would cause a dangerous situation to arise on our planet. So here was material that was validated that had been made two years previously by the space intelligences through radio contact. Now, I ask the question, and I'm going to ask many questions today, over the course of the lecture. I'm going to ask you questions. I'm going to attempt to answer some of these, and others I'm going to leave with you and see if you cannot come to some conclusions and some answers yourself. But I ask this question, why is the cosmic ray bombardment increasing so fantastically? What is the reason behind it? This is very important because it definitely ties in with why we are being visited now, more frequently, by our brothers from space. We're going to get away from this somewhat in the central part of the lecture.

You're going to wonder what happened to the UFOs as we get into more of a travelogue, archaeological type of talk. But do go with me on it and we will try to sew the whole thing up for you and to show there is a very definite connection. We will be mentioning toward the end of the lecture the cosmic ray bombardment again. We'll bring that theme up. Now, Colonel Fawcett looked for lost cities, but he didn't know anything about the UFOs or their connection with the cities. He did know, however, that the finding of such cities would revolutionize world history as we know it. So, therefore, I ask the other question, why are the lost cities important? What part do they play? What can they mean to us now? They have a lot more to tell us than just the fact of beautiful ceramics or beautiful stonework. That's not the story, the main story that they have to tell. Now, some of you are probably saying, well, it seems a little bit incongruous to me, old stone ruins and gleaming spaceships from other worlds. What's the connection?

I like to think of it this way, that the lost cities or worlds and the unexplored places of our planet give us an inheritance from the past, a warning for the present, and a legacy for the future. For a moment, let's consider the past. Evidently, in the interior of South America, there was an ancient Amazonian empire. Now, this is mentioned throughout all of the legends of the South American natives. We're not here today to discuss whether Mu or Atlantis existed or not. I have my ideas, you have your ideas. There are probably as many ideas on Mu and Atlantis as there are people here today. Anyway, if those continents did exist, they were contemporary with the ancient Amazonian empire, and it may indeed have even been older than they. We get the picture then of three great world cultures or civilizations instead of the former two, the island continents that we're all familiar with. Evidently, the UFOs, or the space people, were in communication with the leaders of those ancient empires before. Their coming is not new by any means.

Also, the UFOs visited them just before destruction destroyed their empire. Now, I know many people feel they need a leaning post or a good stout oak tree to lean against, and they have now transferred all their troubles or all their hopes they have placed upon the coming of the space people. I don't feel that the space people are here to hand us anything on a silver platter or to suddenly lead us by the patty into an Edenic paradise. They're here as signs in the sky to make us awaken to our own potentialities and to what the rest of the universe may comprise and what it may be. However, if we can find lost records in these ancient cities, records that speak of other forces, energies, and of a higher culture, these records are our own inheritance. We don't need space people to give us these things. These were created by our own ancestors and belong to us when we are of age to handle them. Now, many people also asked a very important question. Are the UFOs here because of our atomic energy and to stop a war? I will answer that by giving the statements

that they made themselves in 1952, which was to this effect. They didn't say whether there would be an atomic war or not. They did say that if the nations of the world can sit down in peace in a council together and decide upon peace in the world, they will land and assist us in a new technology and in a new age upon this planet. However, if there is a war, whether it be an atomic war, or not, they will not stop it. But they will wait until it's over, until it has reached a certain conclusion, that is, anyway, and then land and assist the remnant that remains in a new age upon this planet. In other words, we get the picture that the UFOs are here to stay. They are not going home, as some, I think, wish they would. That's the reason that they have, up until now, not been announced, whether they are real or whether they are not real. I certainly give our scientists and other people working with governmental agencies more intelligence than that. After ten years of research, certainly they know what the UFOs are. Let's look for a moment, then, at the present.

We have a warning here, because what happened to past civilizations must not happen to ours. The UFOs have said that we must not go back to the caves. Man must not go back to savagery this time, as he has in past civilizations. Dr. Albert Einstein stated it very well when he said, Gentlemen, if there is a third world war, we will fight the fourth one with bows and arrows. This cannot happen. Looking at the future for a moment, we may very well have a legacy here for a new world, scientific and arcane knowledge from the ancient records which will assist us to take our place in the interplanetary brotherhood from which the UFOs have said we fell many centuries ago. The records of the controversial continents of Mu and Atlantis are buried, if they exist, are buried under fathoms and fathoms of water, quite inaccessible, and perhaps because of the deterioration, the effects of water upon these records, they might not be of any use to us, at least some of them. The records of the ancient empire of South America are buried,

but they are not buried under water, although they are buried behind miles and miles of the green hell jungle of the interior of South America. And yet, a little more accessible to us than those that are under water. The finding of these records, I believe, will revolutionize world history, and they may give us knowledge of secret forces. The UFOs landed at these ancient cities and they didn't pass, and they are doing so again. I have talked this past year with very respected gentlemen in the interior of South America, the missionaries and the priests who work in those areas. Friends, it doesn't matter what denomination or what religion a man is, when he goes and spends his entire life in the center of South America to help his fellow man, believe me, he is sincere. I have run across some very wonderful men, and I want to salute them here today, who are working in that area for the benefit of all of us and all of mankind. Now these men, Protestant missionaries, Franciscans from Canada, Dominican priests from Spain, all of them report UFOs

in and out of the unexplored places of the South American jungle, especially active in the past two years. Now these men do not know what these objects might be. I had one missionary tell me that he thought they definitely tied in with prophecies, the strange signs in the skies, and so forth. But that's only one man's opinion. The others just don't give any opinion. They know they've seen them, they know they're not aircraft, but otherwise they don't know what they might be. They've seen them singly, and they've seen them in large numbers. Why, I ask you, have the UFOs returned in our generation? This past decade has been termed, 1947 to 57, which we have just completed, has been termed the haunted decade. And indeed, it was the haunted decade. You might answer the question why they have returned in our generation by saying this is the psychological time, because man on earth is now ready to go into outer space. And if there are space beings, it is the psychological time for them to make themselves known to us. I think that's a good answer,

but I think there's more to it than just that. Now, certain South American research societies in Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina, Peru, and other countries that are actively working on the UFO problem along with the cooperation of naval and army intelligence have stated that they believe that there are gigantic bases of the UFOs in the unexplored interior of South America. The reason they give? For privacy. Now, there's a lot of space

in outer space, and I don't think the UFOs need the jungles to hide from us or for privacy. I believe they're in the jungle for bigger reasons than just that. They are landing at exactly, and this is something very thrilling to contemplate. I wish I could have seen it. I hope someday I have the privilege to see it. I'm sorry to report to you I didn't see a single UFO or anything that could be called a UFO. You know, no weather balloons that are mistaken for Venus and Venus that's mistaken for a UFO or what have you. I didn't see anything at all this year in that category. But I have talked to people that have, including the Padres. Why are they returning to the same cities that they visited thousands of years ago? I don't think they're interested in the stonework. South America may easily be a new area or a new world headquarters for several reasons. First of all, it is the oldest known land geologically above water that's still in existence. While the fringe areas of South America, the Andes and the coastal areas, are affected greatly by catastrophe

and have destroyed ancient civilizations such as the one at Tiahuanaco in Bolivia and others that you're probably familiar with, the interior of South America is relatively free of disaster, unless it would be meteor showers, something of that effect. But as far as the land is concerned, it is quite safe. Another reason is that South America has been, in the interior, there are thousands of square miles of unexplored country, uncontaminated by modern man. South America is the dark continent, not Africa today. South America may easily be the new or the old world and not the new world. Man has long thought the cradle of civilization was the Mediterranean area. Very few funds can be raised to explore South America. Everybody wants to put their money into finding a statue in Athens or going to Rome or digging up a tomb in Egypt. I think they will find that man's civilization began in ancient South America and not in the Mediterranean. In fact, those in the Mediterranean of 5,000, 6,000, 7,000 years ago are pikers because now, through certain astronomical calculations

and other very precise scientific work, men like H.S. Bellamy and others are proving that Tiwanaku is at least 27,000 years old. And we're going to show you some things here today which are certainly older than that, and we'll get into that in just a moment. Is disaster coming, you may ask? This is a very touchy subject. Along the way, people have said, well, we understand you're going to touch on that subject. Do be careful because some of the people in our group, I don't think, can take it. Well, ladies and gentlemen, if it's going to come, you're going to have to take it. I think we should face things squarely, as they are. I don't believe in alarmist techniques, I don't believe in the prophecies of doom and gloom, nor do I believe the world is going to end. The world ended today for a lot of people, didn't it? We're here, and so is the world. In 1952 and 3, that question was given to the UFO intelligences on radio. They answered it, not by saying, yes or no, disaster is coming, but they answered it this way,

well, we are here, aren't we? Well, we are here, aren't we? They also immediately said the world is not going to end. Now, that's a very untrue statement because remember what the philosophers said, everything changes but change itself. So eventually, I suppose, the world isn't going to be here. But we're told that we don't have to be concerned about that in our generation. Right now, we don't have to be concerned about the world ending, but there will be terrain changes. There will be terrain changes in the world for various reasons. They've also stated that the earth must be brought very quickly into the interplanetary brotherhood. Why? Why the rush? This very definitely ties in with the cosmic ray increase which we will bring up, as I said before, toward the end of the lecture. Now, is this paradoxical? If life is eternal, as the UFOs claim it is, and as most of us, I hope, believe that it is, and we have forever in this classroom of earth to fulfill our mission and learn our lessons, then why are they sticking their nose into our affairs now,

even as much as they are? Why are they interfering? And why are they rushing us into this interplanetary brotherhood if we have an eternity to do it? In 1952, I realized strictly from the anthropological standpoint that the UFOs would never come here unless there was an emergency reason for it. For this reason. Now, as I speak strictly as an anthropologist, there are many other reasons, but speaking strictly from my own field and my own training, we know that when a white or civilized or so-called superior culture comes in unto an inferior, so-called inferior that is, culture, a simple native culture, it always destroys that culture utterly and completely, socially, religiously, politically and economically. Now, the motives may be benevolent and friendly and kindly on the part of the so-called superior culture, because we might come into a native group and say, these people don't have plows, they don't have medicines, they don't have these luxuries that we have, and we want to help them get it. But when we do that, even if our motives are kind,

we destroy them. Now, certainly the UFOs know this, if they're more intelligent than we are, and although it's a great blow to our pride, I suppose they are, because they have spaceships and we don't. I imagine when we look into it, we'll find they are much more advanced for other reasons too, besides just the technical angle. They certainly know this. Would they then, I ask you, come down here and impose their culture, which is several thousand years ahead of ours, about ours, knowing they will destroy us? I don't think so. In other words, they are here for an emergency condition only, and the things of the world were about ready to be destroyed anyway. What great cosmic change or knowledge of it has prompted them to come now? This is the great question. Now, before you show slides, all of this has been by the way of introduction to the slides that we're going to show, I want to mention five points why ancient cities or ruins tie in with the UFOs. One, there are records in South America in the ancient libraries and depositories

that will be of great importance to man in the future. Two, UFOs landed at these cities in the past and were in communication with the leaders of such cities. Three, there are now UFO bases in South America, in the interior. Four, UFOs may well be preparing for a new civilization or center in South America. Five, I will give later. If you will remember that, I will give five later, and it will tie in with the increase of the cosmic ray bombardment. Now, this will give you some idea why the last worlds and the UFOs are connected. We're going to show slides now. They are broken down into three sections. One, Pomotana, the lost city of a thousand stone roofs. Two, Makawasi, the home of the giant gods. And three, the lost rock of the writing of the unexplored jungles of east of the Andes in Peru. Now, on Pomotana, it's very disappointing because we have pictures leading right up to it, and when we get to the lost city, we have no pictures. You will see why when you see the slides going up. Pomotana is almost constantly covered with clouds,

and we had a difficult time with hail and rain and even some snow while we were up there. We couldn't take any color pictures. However, we do have pictures illustrating everything else that we have to show you today. Now, this picture has nothing to do with lost cities or UFOs, but we use it first to have everything in focus. It's quite interesting. These are the Yamas, the cousins of the camel, which only exist in the Andes of South America. They're used as beasts of burden. No one can ride them. But you can carry about 65 to 80 pounds of beans or corn, what have you. This is a little Quechua Indian boy, about 14 years old, on the road from Cusco to Pisac with a little baby Yama. You can see two others, several others in the background. This is my own little boy, Mark, four and a half years old, and he, at present, is with his mother very deep in the Peruvian Andes in a valley which you have to get into on wheelback. It's like going down in the Grand Canyon, a very, very difficult journey. There are no trails. There are no trails or other car roads

or anything in the area. He's out here getting water from a glacial stream for mother. Here he is again with a Peruvian friend. This is the first picture we took this year on the way to Pomotana. Now, Pomotana we heard about in legends amongst the Quechua. They spoke of a lost city of a thousand stone roofs. Now, this was quite interesting to me. What do they mean by stone roofs? I've never heard of such a thing, a ruin with stone roofs. And also that they had given an exact number, a thousand stone roofs. The Quechuas spoke of it as the home of the most ancient ones and that their people, the Incas, had nothing to do with it but that it was pre-Inca and very ancient. It was nearly 13,000 feet above sea level in the Peruvian Andes and overlooked the Rio Montaro River Valley. Now, the Montaro is a very ferocious and fast-moving river that was never even conquered by the Inca engineers. Several thousand feet above this river valley was supposed to exist a lost stone city of a thousand roofs. The great Italian scientist Ramondi

many years ago was in the valley but never knew of the existence of the city and therefore, of course, never visited it. This is the first picture which shows cactus here and vegetation which is considerably at a lower altitude. Each picture, we're rising several thousand feet as we go up to our destination. This could almost be a picture taken in Arizona. Here we are closer. We're winding our way on Muleback up this way. This very dark butte, like something out of Doyle's Lost World, was a very interesting place and there are some ruins on it but we were winding our way behind here going this way. Mount Pomatana itself exists back of this butte towering quite a bit above it. Mount Pomatana is in the center. You can see why we didn't get any color pictures because the last city is here. It's almost constantly covered with these clouds. I say almost constantly because I don't know if it always is but it seems like it always is. It's very cold and this, by the way, is an indication that something has happened here which I'm going to pick up the theme of

in just a moment. But remember, the fact that the city is always covered with clouds and in a very disagreeable atmosphere gives us a clue to what may have happened in the past. The next picture is the same except it shows the clouds and the ruins in just a bit. The city being here. We wound our way up this valley and back through here. It looks quite simple but believe me there are many trails and many valleys back in there to get over. First leaving our mules about here and then going the rest of the way on foot to the top. We came finally to a place called House in a High Place in the Quechua language and after being there a while we finally got in touch with a very old man from the ruins in this area but our people are afraid of them they have many superstitions and stories about them they don't want to go there and he said that the place had never been visited by white men before. Later we found this was true that scientific records had never mentioned the lost city of Permatana it was something completely new. Also, we did discover that the place

was pre-Inca because we discovered no Inca ceramic ware or pot sherds or broken pottery in the area which I took a quick look at the collection which showed us that the Incas had never been to Permatana. The Incas, I know many of you feel old but the Incas are one of the world's oldest civilizations the Egyptians and the Incas and the Mayas and the Aztecs I think we'll find ladies and gentlemen that they're all rather recent that there was something that they came from that was much, much older. When we're dealing with Peruvian archaeology or South American archaeology we can only call it Inca, pre-Inca pre-pre-Inca and pre-pre-pre-Inca You can't give it a name. Men like Bird, Matthew Sterling and others who have been working in that area I think would agree that the only thing they know about South American archaeology is that it's in a complete state of chaos at the present time. Very little is known but most of them agree that there was a great pre-Inca civilization Now the Incas themselves said this so I suppose they're right.

They claim that when they came to Peru which was fairly late in time they found these great ruins and they built their cities on top they copied their architecture they learned many things from the pre-Incas and although the Inca civilization was cruder it was fashioned and copied on the older one. Finally on the cold and snowy morning of September 30th, 1957 just a few months ago we came to our destination at Mount Pomatano We left our mules where I showed you there in the picture and we continued on foot to the top We discovered that there was a city on one mountaintop but existed on three Three mountaintops one city Two of the mountaintops contain houses Now these houses were unique like nothing I have ever heard or seen before They're perfectly round They look much like a conical beehive or an Eskimo igloo But instead of being made of ice blocks they're made of stone blocks and they had stone roofs So you see we find that legends can be true Now remember it was Schliemann who when he was sitting on father's knee used to say

Father I'm going to find this Troy that you're telling me stories and legends about And his father said Don't be crazy son It doesn't exist just a story He said no I believe it exists And he went out much to the chagrin of the established science at the time and found Troy the greatest archaeological discovery of all time But we have to be fortified with a little more than that We have to take other things in consideration But they are very important I like to consider myself as a legend hunter And we have used them throughout our work this year in South America So we found that the Indian stories were fairly accurate We estimated about 10 to 1200 houses They said city of a thousand stone roofs Well that's just about exactly what it is And we did discover too that it was Priyanka The most important thing is that it is a temple It is a temple in the middle of the Matana And this place here as I showed before right on the very top is a great stone plaza In the center of this stone plaza is a temple the likes of which has never been heard before

It is a spiral temple You enter the entrance which is about 3 meters wide a little wider than 3 yards And you go around and around and around to the center which is about a meter wide It's like a great Cretan maze A spiral temple Now near this spiral temple we found, quite by accident too I think because we were trying to get in away from the hail and the rain and get some shelter And we found a cave that had been bricked up and made into a tomb And in this tomb we discovered about 200 burials Now these burials are unique for three reasons First of all the skull had been deformed artificially by having a band placed around it Much like the skulls of the noble people of Egypt, others that you've read about From childhood the skull was banded and deformed These people placed a great amount of tension upon the human skull and the human brain For what reason I ask you and we're going to pick that up a little later too I'm going to compliment you people out here in the City of the Angels and also all the rest of you in California

because I'm finding that I can and you know I'm not flattering you because you've already paid your way in but it's really true California has that reputation and it really is true Back East you have to be much more the conservative scientist and some of these things you can't bring out so I just asked them the question and let them figure it out themselves Some of the things I'm beginning to get just an idea on myself and I'm going to pick that up a little bit later of why these people were concerned about the human skull and the brain Some things which I couldn't bring out I didn't feel I could back East I had a few other definitions called trepanning The skulls were trepanned and these this trepanning was done on the back part of the brain usually but also all over on the skull The third thing is that the metopic joining which is in the center part of the forehead the metopic joining closes very shortly after birth on most everyone I did see one skull in a museum at Trujillo in Peru which displayed the metopic joining being open

and the university is very proud of this particular specimen because it is a very rare thing to find I picked up the first skull in this cave of the skulls and it had the metopic joining open I thought boy what a find I picked up the second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth and they all had it and finally I found that most of the 200 had it Now I haven't looked at all of the skulls in the cave because we couldn't stay long at Pomitana but every single skull I looked at had it Now why did these people deform the head to release pressure and cause the metopic joining in the center of the forehead to remain open on through life into the ages of 50 and 60 and more and why did they perform so many operations on the human skull and brain Now this next picture shows you this is not from Pomitana but this shows you what trepanning is Now some people say how do you know it's been trepanned maybe it was just a blow in the head by a rock or a war club but you can see this here is definitely surgical A very beautiful job Another section of the skull has been removed

and you can see the unmistakable marks of the surgeon's knife They used copper knives for this work and the agony and pain to the patient must have been tremendous The metopic joining here you see is closed but on the Pomitana skulls this is open caused by the releasing of pressure by the banding in the back Very interesting Something went on at Pomitana which we can only guess Not only is the culture of Pomitana found high in the mountains and now I'm getting into the point I wanted to mention I told you I would about why the city is constantly covered in fog a disagreeable climate I do not believe that a culture such as that of Pomitana would build a city in such a disagreeable location Therefore a catastrophe must have struck them and then they went down lower into the Rio Montaro valley where we find their cultural evidences low in the Rio Montaro valley with round stone house ruins near the ruins of an old colonial Jesuit mission Very unusual to find a culture almost in the jungles and also existing high up in the mountains

They're usually either one mountain culture or jungle culture or something Here we find them in both places and also the ruins of the lower valley are in better condition and appear to be more recent or newer which means after catastrophe they move farther down into an agreeable location and build their new cities The ruins Now it's alright Fray Palmer was here he'd say the Daros were after us today These ruins have a story to tell They're definitely not voiceless and they, I believe, link up with the lost cities of the great Amazonian empire We're getting an awful lot of feedback The ancient Amazonian empire to the east Now at Pomitana we must bring linguistic evidence into play because the real name of Pomitana in perfect Quechua should be Puman Ratana which means the hitching place of the lion Now we're going to mention throughout this lecture at several times, lions They're very important in South America Not the kind of lion that you know of in Africa because they didn't exist in South America but the tiger, the jaguar

or the puma rather The cat form is very important because the ancient Incas called this ancient Amazonian empire Paititi the land of the tiger or the jaguar king So the Mayas spoke of this The land of the jaguar king And here we find Pomitana with a strange name of the hitching place of the lion The cat form was not deified in South America but I believe it was used in ceramic ware and in stone work and so forth because these people had a racial memory of the most ancient Amazonian empire We had made our Mecca to a previously unknown city And coming down we picked up our mules then to get out We were afraid it was going to snow and it was very bad, it was getting quite dark So we made our way down the mountainside and zigzagged down turned our mounts toward the little Quechua city or village, house in a high place A very beautiful scene there We turned back and looked toward Pomitana up behind us and there was a single ray of sunlight and it fell directly on top of the Spyro temple A very beautiful last view of Pomitana the lost city of a thousand stone roofs

Now we're going to show a slide in just a moment which will begin our next section where we're going to try and show you the stonework of the pre-Incas which ties in with the Incas. As we said before it seems we have an awful lot of light somehow on the Is that better? As I said before, the Incas are evidently late arrivals in Peru Now there are a few points I'm going to ask you right now because some of you are feeling fidgety or tired I know we spent a lot of time getting ready and we want to thank you very much for your kind attention and how patient you were while we were getting ready this afternoon But I have a few points I'd like to bring out and it will take perhaps 10-15 minutes longer to the lecture in order to bring all that out If you want me to, I'll be glad to do it Things that we finally had to leave out in the original 3-hour lecture which I didn't like to do but just had to Now this year and this is usually not brought into the lecture at all and I'm only going to mention it briefly I don't have pictures with me on it

because it's not an established part of the lecture but we did find an idol in Peru very close to the ocean on the shoreline found in the tomb of an ancient Chamu king This was definitely of Chamu workmanship an idol of the sun and the moon with the men and women on top and the moon and sun figures However, the very striking thing about it is that on the front of it is a copper plate an omnis copper plate very ancient Japanese characters This I took to Dr. Beardsley at Ann Arbor at the university there He's one of the country's authorities on ancient Japanese and oriental languages and he was quite concerned about it He said it's not actually Japanese It looks very much as though someone named Peru knowing Japanese and then over a period of generations the characters changed Now, Japanese comes from very ancient Chinese The characters are almost identical and there was an expedition the Fusang expedition which set out from China about 11 to 1200 A.D. It's claimed that some of the people on this expedition, Buddhist monks

arrived on the coastline here of California There have been some hieroglyphics found here which tend to prove that they may have landed on the coast of Peru The climates the physical or the physical condition appearance of the people there the culture much about their culture and social structure is almost identical to the Orient It is known that the for instance that the Inca nobles had a language which was unknown to the rest of the people The Quechuas always said they were not Incas and the Incas always said they were not Quechuas What may have happened is this An expedition reached the coast of Peru The language began to spread They found that the coast was unlike their land in the Orient and they started up into the Andes mountains similar to the conditions of Mongolia Here, the legend says that Manco Capac arrived in a golden boat on Lake Titicaca one morning as the sun came up and to the people assembled on the shore of Lake Titicaca he said, I am the sun of the sun and I have come to establish your empire This is one of the legends

Before that, I believe there had been a first Inca dynasty which was started by indigenous population which had escaped the great catastrophes that destroyed the old empire to the east and they came up over the mountains to the coast and started a new civilization a new empire Later then, having an oriental invasion so to speak Now this is just a general idea to show you that the Incas perhaps are definitely late arrivals They said that they built on top of ruins which is Sacsayhuaman the great fortress about two kilometers from Cusco, Peru Notice the size of this single block of stone It has eleven angles It is, of course, weighs many, many tons and is one single building block By the way, this man is no midget He is about six foot two So you can get an idea of how big that is All of these other blocks had to be lifted into position They are absolutely used with no mortar whatsoever They are so perfectly joined you cannot place a razor blade or a piece of paper even onion skin between them They are not flat surface flesh with flat surface

but are grooved generally to slip and lock exactly into place with the rock next to them The Incas claimed that these were built by a giant race a great giant race that had preceded them in South America This is the last city of the Incas Machu Picchu which is in the Urabamba Valley north of Cusco towering much higher than Machu Picchu This year I made my way up this You can just barely see the trail here and it goes through a great stone gateway here and then you can see the agricultural terraces where they grew their crops and then the stone ruins on top It is believed although Machu Picchu here was a sacred city and is where the priests and chosen women of the sun the sun virgins went for contemplation and meditation to prepare themselves for temple service It is believed that Machu Picchu was used for the final year of their study where they isolated themselves in silence and where they studied to be fit to take their final place in the temples to serve the royal family in Cusco Machu Picchu is pre-Inca and the Incas found Machu Picchu

and built on top of it We are going to show you in just a few seconds other slides which will give you absolute proof that the Incas are late arrivals in Peru and that they copied everything they had from the older civilization The temple of the sun at Machu Picchu Here is the central altar a great single block of stone the pedestal where the priests stood two side altars Notice here the earthquake activity that has destroyed this part of the temple Above the altar are seven trapezoidal wall niches On each side there are five more making a total of seventeen The number seventeen here is very important and gives us a clue to what actually may have transpired in these temples Some people say oh I see the thing was unfinished they must have had an earthquake and had to get out before it was completed Well that's a pretty good idea you see the fourth wall is missing and it has no roof I don't believe these were ever meant to have a roof nor were they always meant to have a completed wall Behind here we see a great stone stairway

a little boy walking up We have Huayna Picchu here At the highest point of Machu Picchu is where the Inti Huatana exists Now there are very few of those left in Peru only a handful because Pizarro and his Spaniards destroyed everything they possibly could that the Incas had knowing fully well that the Incas had a far greater civilization than Spain could ever have The Inti Huatana means in Quechua the hitching place of the sun Here we see at Machu Picchu the agricultural terraces where the Incas grew their crops Now here on the left the activity of the earthquake again the perfect joining of the stones here Of course where they have been tampered with by earthquake activity naturally you can get a razor blade in there but where they have not where they are as they were originally you cannot Now these are still quite beautiful yet they have been discolored through the ages and also they have been eroded But try to picture these temples originally they are of white granite and they were polished Next you will see the very poor Inca work

This is Inca or Inca copy work This is pre-Inca This is the inside of the temple of the sun that we just showed you one of the walls They are the five trapezoidal wall niches Notice here the strange angles and the carvings inside The bumps that were purposely left on the rocks and the perfect joining of the stones Now H.S. Bellamy and others that have been working at Tiwanaku believe that the pre-Inca ruins such as at Machu Picchu here and other places in South America the angles and the proportions of the stone work definitely tell a story such as that in the Great Pyramid at Giza in Egypt No one yet of course knows just what it might mean This is the outside of that same wall The trail again going up to the Intiwatana This is the Intiwatana Now the stones here were carved out of a single block of stone and this altar here was not added later but this was all carved out of one single boulder The agricultural terraces again Now you'll notice here at the Intiwatana a strange single projection to the left It's believed that ropes

legends say ropes of solid gold but be that as it may ropes wound around this projection supporting here on top a gigantic disk of gold the Inca disk of the sun Here again we see the projection the position where the disk was located There's a sheer drop of several thousand feet right here on the edge You can picture as the sun rose in the morning the very beautifully dressed pre-Inca and Inca priest or nobleman standing here in front of this great golden disk overlooking this beautiful valley Now notice here the peculiar angles these people have used You might say that's a stairway It's not, it's too short and it's also very uncomfortable to sit on It's too high, you can't step up it There are very peculiar angles used here This is razor sharp practically on this edge Here's some strange angles Notice this triangular shaped one here What did these people make this for? They went to a great deal of effort This was one single boulder They had to carve that down from perhaps this depth What did they make these angles for in that way?

They weren't used to sit on or they weren't used for any utilitarian purpose Here we are dealing, I feel, with a new type of art form something which is almost beyond our comprehension to understand Notice the very beautifully perpetually clad snow-clad mountain overlooking Machu Picchu This is one of the most important places at Machu Picchu

known as the doorway of the sun Now the guides down there always have to have a story I took the guided tour when I first went I wanted to hear what they had to say I thought this would be interesting Even the Spanish had never been at Machu Picchu No one had ever found it until just relatively a few years ago when Bingham discovered it So I wanted to see what they had to say You know, everything is a princess's bath or this is the home where a princess lived and all that and they had to keep up a constant power to keep the tourists satisfied and make them feel they were getting their money's worth However, if we just stick to the truth it's far more fascinating in the stories that they think up However, the guide told us this, by the way, is a round quite interesting because we talked about round houses before but this is a partially half-round structure and just inside this door we're going to take you in there in just a moment but just inside this door is a great stone altar Now the man, the guide who took us in

said, well, this was the home of a priest Well, it's very interesting because if it was the home of a priest the altar takes up so much of the floor space you'd have to have a pogo stick to get around Notice here the holes in the stonework This, we believe, was where the ropes went through to support the gigantic disc that covered this entire door Now we'll go inside the temple and see some of the stonework and the trapezoidal round niches where various things were placed and the very beautiful stonework After thousands and thousands of years these stones are still in their right place most of them and if you can see them actually up close they're extremely beautiful things Many engineers have told me that it would be quite difficult for us to have such magnificent engineering and architectural work even today Now this picture is inside the temple The great stone altar is in this position here A trapezoidal round niche here and here and also through the window you can see other ruins in the background Now there are two windows

inside the temple This was taken as the sun was setting in the west Now this is one of the reasons why I believe they did not intend for roofs to be used The sun was to come down in through the roofless temples and structures for a reason which we're going to get into in just a moment But the sun here strikes this particular window we call this the window of the setting sun The western sun strikes this window directly Now I slept in the temple overnight I wanted to see if the rising sun because it was in that direction struck the other window And this is the picture we got just as the sun was rising in the east over the mountains 7 o'clock in the morning Here's the trapezoidal window a projection of the sun on the outside Now there are four such projections outside which we believe again were used as supports for ropes and so forth to hold a disc which covered this entire window Now the ancient Egyptians claimed that they used quartz lenses dyed blue to bring through the sun's rays and these rays were used in healing experiments

Let us ask the question ladies and gentlemen Did Did the ancient sun worshippers just worship the sun and was it as savage and so pagan as we like to think Or was the sun only the physical symbol of the divine creator It may be and according to some legends they state this in fact that the heat of the sun stands for divine love and the light of the sun stands for divine wisdom Now that might have been the philosophical concept understood by the priesthood and also perhaps by some of the laymen who were more interested Perhaps some just ran in the temples and out as people do today just by having your presence there you're going to be saved or something and have your name on the church wall Perhaps I can see Incas running in too I've got to get down to the temple today Perhaps they didn't take much interest They were generals or they were interested in something else But the priesthood and those who were more interested more informed I'm certain that even beyond that there was something greater If the sun's rays would give healing

to the human body and to people they would naturally worship the sun as the giver of health the creator as the divine healer Here we see the stone altar It's gigantic You can see some of the curved walls You can see the trapezoidal wall niches As the sun comes up it throws a rectangular block of light here This is just big enough for a man to lie down with a head here This is another picture

looking directly out the window just as the rays of the sun are breaking over the mountains to the east We begin to get the idea then that indeed there was a gigantic disc covering perhaps It could have been of copper or gold Gold is a very good filtering element But it more likely was of quartz And they brought the sun's rays here to the individual on this altar Now we begin to ask the question Did ancient man just worship the sun as a physical symbol Was it pagan? Or did he realize that from the sun came energies which were beneficial Now I told you I'd tell you about the number seventeen There are seventeen sacred fountains at Machu Picchu There are seventeen sacred fountains at Machu Picchu And there are seventeen worm niches in the temples Seventeen stairs And you find the number seventeen repeated over and over again This means that these people were able to cause some kind of a change to the seventeenth steroid of the body This steroid controls rejuvenation and youthfulness in the body So I ask the question only Were they able

by a complicated system of lenses and reflectors Because this year around Machu Picchu we discovered altars which even Bingham had not found where only tremendous lenses had been placed A complicated system of lenses and reflectors higher above Machu Picchu Bringing in the sun's rays and then focusing them directly down in these temples That's why they wouldn't have rifts on the temples you see And perhaps using them in actual experiments Because in those days the priests were scientists and the scientists were priests and the priests are one It is only recently that we have put in our mind the fact that they are two They say something very wonderful in India and that is there is no religion higher than truth If science has some of that truth and if religion or religious bodies have some of that truth how can that truth contradict itself A priest is a scientist and a scientist is a priest In those days they recognized that fact I believe that the rituals of other sacred centers of South America and elsewhere in the world

were not just religious rites or the worship of the sun but that they performed actual experiments scientific experiments here for the longevity of life and for the well-being of all their people

We are going to go back now We have shown you something of the pre-Incas with Palmatana Something of the pre-Inca work at Machu Picchu and we told you a little bit about the Incas in fact that they are later rivals of the pre-Inca times over 27,000 years ago The next section of our talk today is called The Home of the Giant Gods There is a plateau known as the Marcawasi Plateau It is 12,400 feet above sea level east of Lima, Peru This was not our discovery because this was discovered about five years ago by a man named Dr. Daniel Russo a well-known Peruvian scientist and a very good friend of mine We visited Dr. Russo this year and we did more work at Marcawasi Marcawasi now is beginning to attract the attention of the scientific world A few points

As I said, Dr. Russo found these five years ago and he believes that they are an important key to the world's most ancient mysteries He believes that Marcawasi is one of the last sacred forests of a great elder race The first picture that we show you here is called the Inca Head The Wonka Indians of the present day call Marcawasi the home of the wizards or the magicians They say something tremendous went on up in that plateau in ancient times and they call it the home of the giant gods This is the Inca Head You'll be hearing a lot more about this Some things have been published already Some French periodicals and so forth But you'll be hearing a lot more about it This is so tremendous you could place about 200 people at the base Now you might say that the Inca Grandmother had down on the farm the Indian Head which is just a product of erosion or something to that effect However, these people of the past would take great stones which appeared like what they wanted to portray but then they would add eyes nose, mouth and other features to enhance it

and to bring it out so that the objects would appear that they had just grown up out of the ground Remember, these things are tremendously old thousands of years old It's not a big deal You find at Markawasi lions, elephants, camels and penguins all of which never existed in South America at least as far as science knows You find human faces which obviously represent all races Mongoloid, Caucasoid and Negroid You find stone heads almost exactly like those of Easter Island with the little stone hats and all You find ancient religions represented with sphinxes and there's one statue almost exactly like the Egyptian goddess Thuris The next picture is the opposite side of the Inca head It's very difficult to get pictures here It's a very cold and bleak atmosphere too By the way, most of the time of the year you couldn't work up there at all It's so cold And pictures do not do justice This is one of the only drawings found at Markawasi I should say the only I believe there were others but time and erosion has destroyed them

This we got to with makeshift ladders This is important because it is a square with 16 smaller squares within it Now this goes back to the world's most ancient symbols from which we get the Mayan or Aztec stair-step design also our cross design and the swastika Wherever you find the circle of 16 squares it's an extremely ancient symbol Now remember I told you we would be talking about our lion friend again Here he is in lion form eyes, nose, tongue sticking out with a big Chesser cat grin and the mane and the small ear Now this of course is tremendously large Again we find our friend the lion a conventionalized lion form This is not a UFO perfection there in the work This here is battle-roded and as I say a picture doesn't really do it justice but the eye and the face and sort of a humpback like an elephant or a large dinosaur figure to that effect This we dubbed gave it the name of the warrior's helmet The startling thing about the figures of Markawasi besides the fact that they're so large is this and usually I don't mention this in lectures

because believe me you get lost cities and UFOs and you start to mention some of these other things that's quite enough I am going to mention this because I think it's important and I think you'd like to know it and that is that we found altars contour altars there would absolutely prove that whoever built these things were about 12 feet tall Legends constantly in South America speak of the blonde giants who used to be there Now some people say oh boy UFOs lost cities and now giants Well I think there are more fantastic things than that perhaps under the sun too Anyway there is absolute scientific proof for it For one thing let's go to the religious standpoint In the Holy Bible in Genesis it says there were giants in the earth in those days That should be enough for those of you who want to go by the Bible and those of you who want to go strictly by science Dr. Von Koenigswald one of the world's great physical anthropologists discovered during the Chinese-Japanese war discovered in the Orient gigantic teeth which are not anthropoid ape

but definitely human teeth One thing that can always be identified as human or ape-like are the teeth These were human but they were four times the size of ours

which he said would indicate the men were near 20 feet tall So the very great orthodox scientist Dr. Von Koenigswald says men lived on the earth and since they were 20 feet tall we can't accept the fact that they were 12 feet tall Anyway Mount Arasi the home of the giant gods Again now we go back to legends The Indians say that there were giant gods that lived here Now on the left here we find the burial chopas of the Inca generals The Incas arrived here about 1200 A.D. and they established military occupation and conquered the Huancas These are all tombs of the Inca generals Notice in the center though an elephant going away from you Here's another one coming up The last one against the bigger one Here's one, here's one Elephants in South America Again no UFO This is very badly eroded and the picture's not good Some of the pictures show it quite well But here we find one figure, two feet and this group is called the lovers Here's some milestone heads the biggest one at Mount Arasi This picture shows work which we didn't feel was very important

but it is interesting We did find a tomb here too which the Spanish had overlooked containing about 150 mummified remains of Inca soldiers who had served at the fortress on top And here you can see one man who's been trussed up here There's very real evidence in this tomb that some of these have been trussed up after they've been wounded on the battlefield and thrown in and sealed up in the tomb while still alive There are other things that are more stunning about Mount Arasi The great gigantic figures Perhaps they were made by giants But there are two other things One is that you the sun or moonlight changes during the day during the month and during the year through the periods of the solstice, equinox and so forth that when the light changes because of this through the day and the year you see new figures that never were there before On the Inca head there are 16 heads But you must look at them at different times of the year in order to see that Now Dr. Russo has done work up there over a long period, taken many pictures

He's constantly finding new things that he'd never seen before Again, we find we're dealing with a new art form something which is difficult for us to comprehend You must observe them also not only at a specific time but also from a specific observation point We discovered this year the stone observation points from which the ancients stood to observe these figures Sometimes or when you get up to the figures you will find three or four eyes carved When you get away from the figure you see only two eyes It's just like the picture that no matter what part of the room you're in the eyes are always following you It's that type of carving Also there's one picture or whether there's a carving of a very old man with a long beard and when you take a picture of it and look at the negative it's a handsome young man Now who could possibly do such work? I think we have to use the words of the famous Ouspensky in his work on the Sphinx, he says There is in the world of perception some special kind of mathematics I think if Ouspensky could see Markawassi

he'd say exactly the same thing The figures are countless Now I grant you you might have had a great stone face or an Indian head down on Grandmothers Farm in Missouri but I don't think you had several thousand At Markawassi in the small area of three or four square miles you have thousands of these figures every conceivable thing that you can possibly think of Who could carve stones and cast shadows into low valleys where as light changes strange figures move as if they're alive Friends, one night I went out a very beautiful moonlit night and as the moon passed over these figures I looked down into a low valley and it was just like a pantomime or a movie taking place before my eyes What it must have been in the original state thousands of years ago it's still magnificent Also, and I usually don't mention this in lectures because I don't know the answer myself and I don't want to give it out away from the point of the lecture but also these gigantic granite figures have a tremendous humming sound coming from them A lot of times there's wind up there

a lot of wind and you can't hear it but on this particular moonlit night I went out and I heard this sound and I said to the native Quechua boys there I said, what is that? It lies halfway between crickets and bees a swarm of bees but not sound alike either I said, is that crickets? And they looked at me and said, well, we used to think so too There are no crickets at 13,000 feet or 12-13,000 feet above sea level There's nothing up here we've investigated at nothing that we know that could account for it and of course, as you can see, they said there's no wind tonight and if it was so loud I could have tape recorded it if I had a portable there with me A very peculiar sound coming from these figures Now, as I looked into the valley it looked like a dog chasing a man and as the sun or the moon went over these figures it looked just like a pantomime taking place before my eyes What intelligence could possibly create these great statues? Now, that is not the most startling thing about Marco Rossi For a moment, let's go to Egypt

Travellers never saw them Even low-flying aircraft never observed them But I have talked to pilots within the last few weeks who flew B-52s over Egypt the high-flying plane and they observed a great complicated pattern and network of lines a great pyramid in all directions also in other parts of the Egyptian desert near Giza At Masca, Peru, several years ago a German scientist discovered in a 40-square-mile area great astronomically perfect lines laid out on the ground making them visible and meaningful only from the air What does this mean? We finally got an aerial map a photo map from the Peruvian Air Force I don't have slides on it because they asked us not to show That's when we got our greater shock about Marco Rossi because there are some figures which you would never be able to detect from the ground They are laid out in stones so that they are only visible from the air What does this mean? Some say, well, the ancients got up on the surrounding mountains to view their handiwork First of all, there's nothing higher than Marco Rossi around it

Did the ancients jump up high enough in order to see it? I don't think so Did they have airplanes? I don't think so They were using beacons for ships arriving from other worlds You might say that's too fantastic However, remember Tenzing and Hillary what they said when they were asked after the conquest of Everest Why did you boys do it? They said because it was there Ladies and gentlemen, we have the facts These can only be observed from the air What does that mean? I'll ask you that question and see if you might have an answer Now we move onto the third section which we call The Lost Rock of the Earth the writings. We have heard legends this year from the Padres, other reliable sources in South America, that the natives have stories in this particular area of the Alto or Upper Madre de Dios in eastern Peru, that there is a great lost stone city. A Piro Indian some years ago was looking for his Machiganga runaway wife in this area, which should teach all you gentlemen to marry in the tribe so you don't get anybody outside. This poor fellow had to go hunting his wife in territory he

knew nothing about. He claimed that he found a stone roadway in the jungle which led him to a monstrous city of gigantic stone blocks, temples, fountains, patios, homes. Near this, legends stated, near this city existed a lost rock of the writing. Now this is very interesting. These people, while having no written language, have a word for writing in their language. In Lima, just before I returned, I was in the airport, our plane was delayed, and I picked up Peruvian Times magazine, and I read about a man that I'd never heard about before, George Mashanovsky, president of the Amazonian Foundation in New York City. I visited with Mr. Mashanovsky just a few weeks ago while I was in New York. He had found, the article said, a lost river of the writings. Not a rock, but a river. I thought, boy, this sounds a lot like what we had just done. Almost exactly, here through thousands of years, these things had not been found, and then almost exactly on the same day, I found in Peru what he found in Bolivia.

He thought, there must, it must be some truth to it, because the Aymara Indians have a word for writing in their language, yet they have no written language. He went down this river, and he found hieroglyphic evidence, which is almost identical to what we're going to show you here in the next section this afternoon. So we decided to run down this legend, see if there was any truth in it. I think if I'd known what I was in for when I decided to do this, I might not have done it. I suppose I would, though, because I'm going to go back this coming year again. Now, a lot of explorers, like to tell you how they suffered, and what trials and tribulations they had. Well, it wasn't a Boy Scout picnic, but it wasn't quite as bad as they like to tell you, either. It's a very beautiful country. However, for your interest, I would like to mention vampire bats do exist. They do attach themselves to animals and men. There are jaguars, snakes, tapirs. We didn't go in with a single gun. When we met the Padres at the last outpost of civilization this year, they said, you must be

crazy. They immediately went in with a single gun. We went in with a single gun. We went in with a gun. They went in and had prayers for us. And they said, we carry guns ourselves, never on our person, but we carry shotguns in the bottom of the canoes covered with canvas, because if we run out of food, we might need these guns to get ourselves some game. This year, we decided unanimously in the expedition that we would follow a little book called Kinship with All Life. We wanted to practice this. We thought it was a good chance to practice in the jungle. So therefore, we carried no weapons. We did carry machetes and knives in order to cut our way through the jungle, but no killing weapon whatsoever. We had no trouble. We had a jaguar come out in front of us just a few feet away, never even looked at us, just went in the river and swam away. We crossed rapids and rivers hundreds of times and covered all in all on foot with our backpacks about 200 kilometers. There are no trails. After you leave the mission,

there are absolutely no trails. You must follow the river beds. And during the dry season, you have a bolder shoreline. But during the rainy season, it would be impossible because the only way you could get through is to hack your way through the jungle, which is like hacking your way through an island. So we had a jaguar come out in front of us, just a few feet away, never even looking at us, just a few feet away. But during the dry season, you have a bolder shoreline. The first picture shows the Mission San Miguel, the St. Michael's Mission at the mouth of the Río Palo Alto where it joins the upper Madre de Dios. Beyond this point, it is unknown country. Notice here the banana trees of the Padres that they have planted at the mission. This might be a country which is not known by modern man, but which is a country which has not been forgotten by its creator. A very, very

beautiful country. This is my Peruvian friend, Acosta, who accompanied me on the expedition. He's there with a Moscow Indian who has come into the mission standing on a balsa raft. Palatua means balsa, river of balsas. Some of you kids who make model airplanes and boats and so on would have a heyday here because there are thousands of balsa trees. This is Padre Miguel, a young man, about 28 years old, a Dominican from Spain, a very devoted young man. You notice the big full beard here, and you can partially see some of his long hair. Now there's a reason for this. Some of you might say, well, that's to keep the bugs off of your face. And I will admit the long hair is nice when you're going over the Peruvian Andes to use as earmuffs. But that's not the main reason, and there's a reason why John and I also have our hair long. And I recently, I did have a beard, but I took it off, and I'm just now starting to grow it again, anticipating going back to Peru within the next few weeks. But there's another reason. The ancient peoples of this area

say that before even the priests came, evidently thousands of years ago, an ancient race was here formulating an ancient Amazonian empire, and they were white people. They wore robes, had long hair, and beards. And they were very kind. They taught the natives agriculture, they gave them a philosophy, a way of life, and they loved these men. Therefore, a white man comes in now that way, and they immediately respect him. If you're clean-shaven, you get no cooperation whatsoever, no balsarafs built, no guiding, no carrying, nothing. This next picture shows the Amarakari Indians of the Mashko group. These are very primitive people. They go completely naked. And the man here was very quickly, and the woman, too, she was given a burlap sack and he a shirt. Very quickly, the padre ran out and didn't want any of his converts shown without their clothing. So he dressed them up so I could take their picture. This young fellow, about 20 years old, he brought his mother in who was suffering from pneumonia, and I learned later that she recovered.

This handsome young fellow, about 19 years old, is called Patiachi. He is a Machiganga Indian. The Machigangas, as you can possibly see from this picture, are a fine people, the young man looking very much like some of the Mayas of Mexico. He was my main guide this year in the jungle. This is a little Machiganga Indian boy at the mission. Now, you might say this is malnutrition, but it actually is worms. These people are in a very bad state. They are degenerating physically rapidly. They're suffering from all kinds of diseases. And I wondered about this, and recently I heard a lecture, or rather talked to a lecturer, and he told me, he says, what we've got to get to these poor people quick is the hypodermic needle. And I said, well, I somehow disagree with you. These people have existed for thousands of years in perfect state, practically, without the hypodermic needle. He says, I know, but they're very sick. What's the reason for that? I said, there's only one answer, the white man. Because when I was back in the jungle for days on end, we would see no living thing,

but we did come across one group of men, five or six young men, ranging, I'd say, from 19 to 26 years old, who were building a fish trap on the river. And these young men were the finest physical specimens I've ever seen anywhere. But the same people belonging to the same tribe, as soon as they come into the mission, in about a year or so, they begin to deteriorate. Again, we find the so-called superior culture imposing on the inferior. This is the Cabana del Ponte. This is the Cabana del Ponte of Coya, which is a completely unexplored mountain range in the eastern part of Peru. Now, these are the last vestiges of the mighty Andes before you get to the jungle. They are foothills. They're not really mountains, but foothills of the great Andes to the west. We left the mission and went up this river. Here's my Peruvian friend, Paniachi, Luis, another guide, and a little fellow, about 14 years old. I never did know who he was or where he came from. He just suddenly came along and we left the mission. I was very glad because he turned out to be a very good cook.

Now, if you'll notice here, this is the kind of stuff we had to walk over, then cross the rivers, walk some more beach, and cross again, hundreds of times. I had a brand new pair of boots. They fell off my feet in two weeks. You can see why I'm walking over this. The next picture is farther, several miles, farther upstream toward unexplored country. You can see what I said about it being very beautiful. This water is so wonderful, you can drink it. This, then, is when we are right up to the unexplored country. This country here, where the little white dot is, this is the base of the Cadena del Ponte Hikoya, another picture of the same area, the Rio Palo Altoa.

Somebody said, Boy, aren't you glad you're out of the jungle? I said, Out of it? I just landed in it. I've never done such peace in my life as I knew in the jungle. This is Paniachi, my other guide, Luis. And notice the tremendous bows and arrows these fellows have. I'm glad they're friendly people. This, you'd never know, behind all this foliage, is a cauldron. A cliff 250 feet high. Now, it's very, very easy to miss a lost city or even a lost rock of the writings in any jungle. Some people say, Why don't you fly over with a helicopter and discover all the cities in a weekend or something? People that have flown over jungle know that you just don't spot things always from the air. But we could have missed this by just a few feet because it's behind that foliage. We could have passed on down, as we usually were, passed right on down the beach. Now, it's back in here. But I finally went, which seemed to me quite by accident. Maybe it was coincidence. Maybe it was guidance. Call it whatever you want to. But I went back in this area and where these vines are hanging.

And it was back in here that we found the last rock of the writings. Here's our little cook friend. Somebody gave him a nice beret.

While I was back here at the rock of the writings, I heard a lot of commotion down on the riverbank. And I found our friend Luis here with his bow and arrow in the ready position. And he shot this little animal. He shot this little animal clear across the river. It only had a small part of its body sticking out between two grayish rocks. I knew he saw something over there, but I couldn't see a thing. In fact, I couldn't even see the other side of the river hardly. He shot the arrow clear across the river and hit this animal, which you ladies who appreciate beautiful furs will appreciate as a nutria. There are many nutrias in this area. I'd like to say something here, which I usually don't have in the lectures because of the time element. But if you're not getting too tired, I'll mention it again. I'll mention it now. These people I have the utmost respect for. Friends, they don't have television. They don't build automobiles. But they have something else that we may have gotten away from and which we're going to have to go back to.

These people could not speak Spanish or English. I couldn't speak but one or two words of Macha Ginga. So, of course, I had to point or make my wishes known to them in some other way. And yet I found this year, after it happened several times, I woke up to it. But while I was formulating in my mind something that I wanted them to do, when I was trying to figure out how I was going to let them know it, they'd reached on and handed it to me. So they'll step off into the jungle. Suddenly they will hear something, and I can't hear anything. I couldn't even... It was just so silent you could hear a pin drop. And yet they hear something. Very, very remarkable people. Before I show you the next slide, I want to just tell you briefly about finding the rock of the writings. As I told you, the boys couldn't speak Spanish or English. And several weeks ago, a very sweet little old lady back east in the audience broke in and said, Mr. Williamson, I don't quite understand it. If these boys didn't speak Spanish or English, how do they converse with each other?

And I said, well, there are no other languages besides Spanish and English. And they spoke to each other in Machiganga. It's not a written language, but it is a spoken language. And these boys had never been to the rock of the writings. They had heard their relatives and ancestors talk about it. They knew the general location. But they had never been to it themselves. So the only word I hardly almost learned from the Padres as we were leaving the mission was Ma Pre, which stood for this rock we were attempting to find. We thought it was going to be a great border with hieroglyphics on it. We didn't know it was going to be a stone cliff. Of course, the boys didn't either. So I kept saying Ma Pre and pointing directly ahead. And they'd say Ma Pre and shake their head and point ahead. And I thought, well, perhaps it's an hour away or we're almost there. But the farther we got and the more days that we were concerned with this thing, they still were just as excited and just like it was around the next corner.

I was becoming very disappointed and very discouraged. We came one evening just about sunset. When the sun goes down in the jungle, it's gone. One moment it's there. And the next minute it's just gone. It started to rain. And so the boys decided they'd get something to eat for us. And I walked down the river to wash my face and hands. And I was a little discouraged. And I looked ahead toward this mountain range that we showed you just a moment ago. And I started to take a step. I realized that every step I took was unexplored country. I was musing along these lines. I saw this dark place. Now, if we had waited until the next morning, we'd have probably passed right by there in a hurry. A lot of dark places, you know, along the foliage and openings. And you don't go into every one of them. You don't go into very few of them. You stay on the river. I walked back in there. And then I did what I guess you call the proverbial double take. I looked up. I saw the characters on the wall. A tremendous band about 85 feet long by 8 feet high of hieroglyphics on this stone cliff about 250 feet high.

I looked away. And I thought, well, now, I was afraid if I looked again, it wouldn't be there. Because it was getting, as I said, the sun was just about down. It was dark. And there were a lot of vines. And I thought, you know, I was discouraged. Imagination was playing tricks on me. I thought, Father, if this is really what we're looking for, I thank you. Because I know we've been led here. We could have easily have missed it. Very easily. I looked again. And it was the Rock of the Ridings. This, then, is the first picture we took this year of the legendary Rock of the Ridings. Poor picture from this standpoint. It only covers a small area. Remember, it's 85 feet long. Actually, you're seeing a very few feet. This is Patiachi. Notice as I trace this. This particular character. It's what we call a curvilineal scroll form of writing which contains circles, lines, and dots.

It is not just the carvings of Stone Age men. It is definitely a writing form. Of course, it's been subjected to the elements over the years and now is badly eroded. The two guides, Luis, Patiachi. There are hundreds, thousands of forms here. The trees and the foliage in front prevented me from getting good pictures. I had to wait throughout the day in order to wait until the sun came through the trees and hit this just right. A few seconds after I took this picture, there was no sun here at all. I took this picture of a cliff where there are no hieroglyphics. The glyphs end over in here to show you the vines and the foliage that we had to cut away in order to get pictures at all.

Notice the heart-shaped face. This appears over and over again in the characters. Here's an interesting one here.

Here's our friend again that I talked about before. He's over here. But he's also here. Here is the jaguar or puma, the conventionalized lion face, the eyes, nose, the broad nose of the cat form, and the plumed crown.

Remember, the Incas and the pre-Incas said that there was an ancient empire called Paititi, the land of the Tiger King. There is the tiger with the crown, the Tiger King himself, which relates these rock writings to the most ancient Amazonian empire.

This is not too clear, but this is a bigger view to show you. Actually, as I say, it explains a lot. It extends 85 feet. This is not all of it by any means. There's an interesting character here. Here's an hourglass figure with a face, heart-shaped face here. Also, right here, there it is, a circle cross. Here's the heart-shaped face, a glyph very similar to the Maya or Aztec glyphs.

Down here are some which are almost identical to some of the Mayan glyphs in the codices, but which are in shadow there and very bad. You can't see them. Here, notice, a circle divided into threes with certain characters that are very much like the old Chinese seals. Now, the important thing in this is the repetition constantly of what we call the water or catastrophe or flood glyph. It appears over and over in the Maya and Aztec codices. It is known as Quetzalcoatl, the Plumed Serpent in Mexico. Here he is, here, although the shadows are shadowed. The waters are so bad in the picture that you can't see them very well, but here he has a plume on, too. This water glyph appears over and over in this panel. Now, you might ask, have you found out what this means yet? No, we haven't. And for one thing, I don't think anybody's going to be able to translate it, but we can see certain similarities to other things. And this repetition of the catastrophe glyph makes us believe that the priest scientists of this ancient empire made this panel immediately after catastrophe struck their empire to record what had happened.

Can we have the lights now? The fantastic name of Tupac Inkayupanqui went looking or sent out several thousand soldiers to find the cities.

But they were swallowed up in the jungle, died of disease and attacked by natives, and never found the cities. If we could know, you've only heard two-thirds of it. Well, this is supposed to be the hour and a half lecture, but you said you wanted to hear more. That's why I've extended it. Exactly the same thing you have. Exactly. No kidding. The boss, the full pan. Do you have the pictures of him? Yeah, we have them. Terrific. We'll talk to you after this. Here's a picture. This is a good one for this. It fits in perfectly here. And gives you also, besides being a little joke, you know, it should serve a purpose. And I think this serves a very good purpose and tells a story. Anyway, I'll not sign any books now until we're at the end of the lecture because we're still in the middle of the lecture. But in South America, you'll find the Quechua Indians working. And I began to notice exactly at 5 o'clock every night that they would all simultaneously drop their tools and quit work. And I thought, how do they do this? They don't have any watches or clocks. And, of course, at first I thought, well, they watch the sun and the sky and they can determine just about when it's 5 o'clock.

And then I began to check with my watch. And I found it never varied. But for a few seconds. And usually, right on the dot, they quit their work. Well, these people down there don't have coffee breaks. But at 10 in the morning, 3 in the afternoon, they have what they call a coca break. They chew coca leaves. Now, they claim, when I ask them how they could do this, they say, well, the coca starts to get sour in our mouth and then we know it's time to quit work. Well, I hope that your coffee isn't getting sour and you think it's time to leave. I know that the small ones down here at San Juan and Capistrano know why they come back on time every year. But these people do that. And it's really quite a good thing. Thank you. It's quite amazing. If you want to be seated now, I will continue. Be glad to take care of books and talk to you right after the lecture. I'd like to say to Hanukkah May, we have your book and we've read it three or four times. Thank you. Glad to know you. I want to read you something that we received in communication that we received in communication from the very well-known author, Mr. H.S. Bellamy, who has written Moon, Miss, and Man and the calendar of T. Wanaka, Built Before the Flood, and other books. I'm sure you're familiar with Mr. Bellamy. He wrote from Vienna, Austria, very recently on the Makawasi findings, writing to Dr. Russo. These things are really astounding. Although I'm afraid I know nothing further about them than what I have learned from your reports, I am fully prepared to regard them as genuine monuments left by a people who have long since disappeared. Also, his collaborator, Peter Allen in England, writes, I congratulate you on making a discovery of the greatest importance. This is written to Dr. Russo. After his reading, you are now ready to go. I think my words are really important to you. Dr. Bellamy, I thank you for your efforts and having spent hours studying the photographs. It seems to me that the culture of Makawasi

may well be of such an extreme antiquity that it might profitably be studied in the light of our findings in respect to the T. Wanaka monuments, that is, at least 27,000 years old. Now, to dispel, however, the thoughts of some of you that might feel that the T. Wanaka monuments, or rather the Makawasi monuments are erosion, caused by erosion, Dr. Joseph Gray of France, one of the world's foremost authorities on erosion, after studying photographs, and the facts of the Markawassi findings, claims that they could not possibly be just erosion. They're definitely man-made objects. When we show these pictures in Washington, D.C., Dr. Morris K. Jessup, who's written several saucer books, I'm sure most of you are familiar with Mr. Jessup. By the way, Mr. Jessup is accompanying us this year on our expeditions to Peru. And he came up afterwards and he said, well, I've wanted to go back to Peru for years, and he said, just count me in, I'll be with you. Also, Mr. Bellamy is coming from Austria to join us toward the latter part of the year to go back to Markawassi.

However, Mr. Jessup, who is also, besides being an astronomer, is quite a well-known geologist, said, listen, he said, you say they're at least 27,000 years old. I said, well, now, wait a minute, I didn't say that. I said, that's what Bellamy says. I'm not saying what I think they might be, because you never would believe it. He said, well, maybe you won't believe me when I tell you that according to the erosion that's taken place on those statues, they're at least 27,000 years old. They're at least 100,000, if not a million years old. And I said, well, don't jump out of your skin if they're not 1,000 million. But when you're jumping millions around, it doesn't matter if you're here or there, it doesn't make much difference. We find here, therefore, on the rock of the writings, that we have glyphs which are not that of Stone Age man. Until now, science has never accepted the fact that there was a writing in South America. They knew the Mayas and Aztecs had writing, but they didn't believe the Incas and pre-Incas

had any form of writing whatsoever. If half of the legend is true, the other half must be true, and the stone city must exist. Friends, something mighty peculiar is going on in the high places of the world and in the jungles. Remember the report by Dr. T. Webb Tsang Lampa in Flying Saucer Review, where he tells of the great stone city he and the other lamas found high in Tibet, and they saw the UFOs coming in and out of these cities. We have the abominable snowmen in the high places of the world and other mighty strange things going on. No question about it. This year, on May 1st, the beginning of the dry season, we hope to go back to the Rock of the Writings, using it as a base, and push on to the lost city. Now, to do this, we must go through an area of a tribe that's never been visited by white or civilized men before. We must gain their confidence and their friendship and get permission to go through their territory to the lost city. This year, I saw, I did not see them, I did not hear them, but I knew they were in that jungle right there

near the Rock of the Writings watching us. Their territory extends right to that place, perhaps they have used it sort of as an arbitrary marker of some kind of their territory, but they're right there on the other side of the river. Now, why is all this important? We certainly haven't gotten into UFOs very much in the last half hour. These people have, the people of this area, have legends which state their ancestors were in communication with the people of the sky. Now, this is important. We've considered the archaeological evidence, now let's consider the legends. Again, for just a moment. They say that their people were in touch with the people of the sky, the people of Inukui. Now, Inukui, according to the Padres, who are the experts on this language, cannot mean anything on this planet or the earth. It means the people of the stars, the people of the heavens, or the people of the sky. They claim that this communication took place over a road in the sky.

Certainly not a road like we know, certainly not a road like you know in L.A. anyway, but a road in the sky. And that friendly beings, that are people, I don't say gods, but friendly beings or people came to them over this road in the sky and communicated with their leaders and their priest scientists. This was just before destruction struck their empire. After destruction, the communication was cut off from the star people. Now, this, I think, is most important. Also, from the linguistic standpoint, I remember I told you the Machigengas were not savages. They have degenerated to that state from a high civilization because their language, is not the language of savages, but the language of a highly civilized, a very organized and beautifully composed language. The Padres, who should know, state that the legends of these people are almost identical to the ancient Roman and Greek and Bible stories. The proof of the Amazonian Empire, then, is this. The archaeological evidence in the form of the glyphs, the traditional evidence in the form of the legends,

the language, the linguistic evidence, the language which is not of savages, and there's ethnographic racial similarity evidence, which we can't go in here, uh, this afternoon. Two points of importance are, the Amazonian Empire did exist, they did have a writing in ancient South America, and the ancients were in communication with the sky people. Then we come up to date with the fact that the Padres report UFOs are in the jungles once again. UFOs have always appeared before in Earth history, just before something stupendous was about to happen. Going back to our theme, that they are here for an emergency reason only. Not to brag that they've developed spaceships, I remember someone, once told me, oh, I can't believe this, because as soon as we get spaceships, we'll go up to Mars, and if anybody's there, we'll land in the great, the biggest center we can find. Well, perhaps we would. Briefly then, we have shown you Pomotana, with a strange evidence that after catastrophe, these people became awfully concerned about the human brain and skull,

for what purpose? I just ask you that question, why? Why were they so concerned about leaving the metopic joining here open? Why were they concerned about all these operations? Very briefly, perhaps some of you have heard of Peter, the young Dutch fellow with the X-ray mind. He's been studied in this country now for over a year, and has been proven beyond the question of a doubt that he has a supernormal ability. About seven years ago, he fell down, had an injury to the back part of his head, the medulla part of the brain, and woke up in the hospital with this unusual psychic ability. It's been known that injuries to this part of the brain, besides causing insanity and sometimes death, can also sometimes bring out these factors. It may have been that these people attempted to do it whether they were right or wrong in causing this to happen through artificial stimulation. That doesn't matter. At least they believed they could do it. Now, what may have happened is this. While their ancestors may have known that the ancients

that came on the road in the sky were space people and people, not gods, after catastrophe and the communication was cut off, and through generations, this pure thought may have degenerated, as many of our religions originally pure thought, then degenerated so that the idol was worshipped and not the symbol or the meaning behind it. And they may have begun to worship these, uh, people who arrived as gods. And in order to try to establish communication again, they may have performed these operations and deformities. Also, which is significant, and I'm not going to even attempt to explain it, some of you will know what I mean when I say the shape of the temple is very unusual. The spiral or vortex shape of the temple. That was Parmatana, a pre-Inca race. Later, the culture degenerated. The Incas copied their work. Now, solar energy may have been used by the Incas not only for healing and rejuvenation, but may also have been used to heal and rejuvenate. And they also have been used to build their cities. The pre-Incas, I mean.

Two years ago, that would have been thought to be fantastic. But now all the talk of solar batteries and solar furnaces. And recently, a nationwide article appeared, maybe some of you saw it, showing photographs of solar energy only being used to burn holes in solid steel. Perhaps these people cut their blocks by solar energy. Then we showed you Markawassi with the gigantic figures, showing that gigantic people must have built them, and some of these things are laid out so that they can only be seen from the air. What does this mean? The Rock of the Writings has proven the ancient empire, and a writing, and the very wonderful arrival of the people from outer space over the road in the sky. UFOs always appearing in earth history when something big was going to happen here. We find they're here again. They are here with us again. They have said themselves that we must prepare for changes. They are here with us again. They have said themselves that we must prepare for changes. Friends, why is it that we dislike change so much?

We get a nice, plush-lined rep. We're going to have to get that we're saving up in the cookie jar for the new color TV set. We have to keep up with the Joneses. I don't know why. Who first said we have to keep up with the Joneses? The Joneses, I guess. Anyway, and there are a lot of Joneses. But we like the rep that we get in. But remember, everything changes but change, and we're going to have to change, and things are changing awfully quick. The UFOs say that there are certain ones on earth now ready for that change, and they shall constitute the remnant that remains to partake of new blessings. The past history of the lost and forgotten places of our planet gives us the key to our lost inheritance, our warning for the present, and indicates our legacy for the future. South America may very easily be one of the great capitals of the new world. Thousands of years ago, it served the same purpose and now reawakens to its new role, a cycle or circle of time having swung around once again. While we were not here to discuss Moon Atlantis, we are neither are we here today or this afternoon

to discuss Buddhism or any religion whatsoever. However, I want to mention this because I think it shows a trend. I think it's extremely important. A monk in a monastery in Falun recently wrote to me, quote, Asia is spiritually bankrupt. South America has had its or rest period or spell of dormancy and is now reawakening to the things of the spirit. South America is more than any other land. The country is now reawakening to the things of the spirit. It is the country of the future in every way, a land of great spiritual promise, unquote. Now, what's important here? First of all, a Buddhist monk in Thailand is not going to make that statement about a country that he loves dearly, about which he has many traditions. He's not going to say that Asia is spiritually bankrupt unless he believes it, and he's not going to believe it unless it must be so. There is a trend now for those who formerly went to the Himalayas, not only Buddhists but people from all over the world who went there to follow a spiritual life of contemplation,

and meditation, to not turn their footpaths to the Himalayas but to the Andes of South America. I have learned from some of the disciples, the close disciples of Yogananda, before his transition, he stated that some of the great records had been moved from Tibet to the Andes. And also we recently learned from a very good source that Babaji, one of the great teachers of Yogananda, is now in the Andes himself. There is a trend. Now, we always find these things happening just before, you see. The thing comes out and the world knows about it. A definite trend to South America. Now, I'm not intimating that all of you should immediately buy a ticket to South America. I think there will be centers throughout the world. But it shows that South America is going to be, once again, a very important center for man. Eventually, our brothers from space not going away but landing to assist us. And ancient records that will be found can be used along with that. If we find these records of our own ancestors, you see. We begin to find a key.

We begin to find a key, then, to that which we are going to need in this new age. And now to that point I said I would touch on later. The increase of the cosmic ray bombardment. All roads lead back to Rome, I guess. We have to get around to that sooner or later. In 1952, they stated, this new era of the universe, what did this mean? The increase in the cosmic ray bombardment. I believe that the increase of the rays and the coming of UFOs is the key to our immediate future. I want to read you first just a few words that were given by Dr. Jason J. Nassau, internationally famous astronomer, after he arrived back from the International Science Symposium held in Rome, Italy, recently. Dr. Nassau is an astronomer at Case Institute in Cleveland. These are some of the conclusions reached at that symposium. The Earth is seen racing to a hot, not a cold end. Our world will end twice as quickly as science has expected. Friends, whether we want or don't accept it or not, our sun is an orange dwarf and it's the orange dwarfs that have a nasty habit of blowing up or going into a supernova. In 1955 and 1956, I was in correspondence with a well-known foreign scientist who was in charge and still is, unofficially, of his government's project saucer, called Under a Divergent planet. Most people would probably think about it. The sun is a big tik tok. The sun is absorbent material. different name, of course. And I understand that project is still operating. The man is still working with it, but unofficially. He said this. After research by several government

scientists, they came to the conclusion that the increase of cosmic ray activity was due to one fact, and that is our planet is moving very rapidly on a collision course with a gigantic embryonic sun. Now, what does this mean? Let's examine the evidence. It does not mean that here's the Earth and here's a sun, and we're going to hit head-on a big collision and it's all the end. Remember, I said that the UFOs have said their world is not going to end. So what does this mean, a collision course? Again, I state, I don't believe in prophecies of doom and gloom. But we have to take all the facts into consideration. The UFOs are here, and they're here for an important reason. You can be sure of that. It explains the reason why, at the present time, we're experiencing certain Earth changes, the earthquakes in diverse places. The ice that's melting at the North Pole and accumulating at the South. Salmon and fish are in places where they're not supposed to be. It's dry in South America where it should be wet and vice versa. Things are happening all over the world. Climate changes. The changes,

animals are going to different places and moving about. But this is nothing that should be so unusual. It's been going on geologically for millions of years. There have been changes in the past. It's nothing new. Now, you might ask the question, are atomic bombs causing all of this? The UFOs, when asked this question in 52, said, atomic bombs are only accentuating an already dangerous condition. They are not the main cause. The main cause, evidently, is this new area, this new field that we're moving into. The bombs only accentuating the dangerous condition. Now, when our government was trying to find a place to experiment with the bombs, they, of course, had to pick an area that was low in population. That was fortunate that they picked the southwest of the United States. Unfortunately, they picked an area to set off the bombs directly over one of those major front lines. It's just like hitting a cracked egg with a hammer. And, of course, you know, you don't jump up and down on a crack and expect it to get any better. It's going to get bigger

and worse. So the bombs are accentuating an already dangerous condition. It also explains why the UFOs would not impose their culture upon ours to distract us while they are here for an emergency condition. They are, then, literally pushing us into a consciousness where we can accept the inhabitation of space, spaceships, and space people. The UFOs say we are to be returned to the interplanetary brotherhood from which we fell countless generations ago. Now, as we move into this field, the effects will become gradually stronger. Therefore, do we find a paradox? If the UFOs claim they wouldn't come unless there was going to be disaster, which they intimated by saying, well, we're here, aren't we? Then why are they planning on a great New Age civilization in South America and elsewhere? I don't think this is contradictory at all. There will be minor earth changes. Which, however, I'm sure will end our civilization as we know it. Then there will be a period when New Age men and women can work in harmony with the space people to build a new civilization

and to learn those lessons they must learn. Let's forget lost cities for a moment and even the UFOs and just think along the philosophical ramifications of this entire picture. This, friends, is to prepare us for the greatest adventure that man has ever known, a literal march across time. You really can't begin to get the picture until you take statements made by UFOs themselves during context that we believe to be authentic, statements now being brought out by science, and also the picture that's revealed by the study of ancient civilizations. When you do that, you don't have the answer, but you begin to get just a glimmering of a startling picture.

Naturally, then, what's going to happen? If this condition gets worse as we go into the field of the sun, we're going to have to start to think about the future. We're going to have to think about the future over a period of, I believe, it'll be several hundred years. What is going to happen? We will eventually have to evacuate the planet, which also means we will have to evacuate the entire solar system. Now, you say, oh, brother, I've heard UFOs, lost cities, giants, gigantic animals, and now we're going to get out of the entire solar system. Well, let me answer it by saying this. Dr. Voltaire was approached by a woman after her lecture, and she said, Doctor, I'd like to listen to you, but tonight was too much. first I believe records will be found in ancient cities that will help us in this new age man will learn new scientific knowledge and the UFOs will land after certain disasters to our world and assist us into this interplanetary brotherhood we then live in harmony in harmony for a long time with other planets developing this new civilization and then point five that I mentioned before that I would bring up and that is the new sun becomes dangerous and we start on our great migration in space is it possible as John McCoy brings out in his very fine little book they should be gathered together that the remnant that is spoken of that should be gathered together in the eagles places means what it sounds like it means the remnant shall be gathered together in the eagles places if we study UFOs as Dr. Jessup said in Washington to me after the lecture the UFO problem begins to underwrite all of the former superstitions and mysteries of the world is it not more feasible and plausible to say that the gods in light who came down on top of Mount Olympus and other places

Kilimanjaro and other places of the world were not men like Apollo with wings on their shoulders but men from other worlds in ships it begins to make the whole confused picture of the world make sense I believe that our nearest neighbors in space on other planets knew about this happening knew that it would take place long ago they have been infiltrating our society they have been helping us in many ways to be prepared for this great event in the last 50 years we have progressed more than we have in the previous 10,000 since 1880 with the industrial revolution from the technical standpoint we have progressed far beyond the wildest dreams of our grandparents even our parents also and as I say I don't believe in bringing up any particular group I believe that all of them have some truth I am a member of none and a friend of all but there is no question about it that about 1880 we find unity with the Fillmores theosophy with Blavatsky we find other books such as Awaski of Newborough we find Christian Science with Mary Baker Eddy and numerous others

giving man a new idea certain people with a certain type of mentality drifted to one and others to others and we have but we began to get a new concept a new concept of the universe about us but the UFOs did not interfere until about 1947 at least not obviously in our society to prepare us for a journey to what they call the void of eternal light we have to prepare ourselves then for a journey into space that defies description I feel that one of the most important things that we have to learn from the coming of the UFOs whether we ever see one or get in one or talk to the occupant or not and that is that man must learn that he is a potential God there was one about 1900 years ago who so beautifully said know ye not that ye are gods in all of us abides a spark of God and that spark is the true self the revealed capacity of every last one of us here today to manifest divinity friends let's forget about a few cataclysms and I'm going I hesitate but I'm going to mention it anyway here a very dirty word and that is death we all must face it sooner or later but we do not like

to accept it or think of it thousands die in accidents and through disease and through atomic bombings such as at Nagasaki and Hiroshima death is constantly with us it's nothing new under the sun why be concerned about that a few are going to die in cataclysms and world changes it's been going on ever since there's been a planet man on it but look at the promise we have that comes out of all of this that is the most important thing and the thing that we should be concerned about there is nothing new under the sun but there is something there that we that's very old but is going to be new to us and that is our legacy for the future indicated by our inheritance from the past think about it for just a moment could there be actually a more glorious promise for man the great prayer of mankind throughout all ages has been that he shall be free and he shall know only truth as our friends to the east say or to the west of us rather there is no religion higher than truth whether it's been the beginnings of our own America wherever freedom has attempted to rear its beautiful head

it has always been the same story man seeks only freedom and truth since the day that man first stood erect and knew he was a potential god have we dear friends ever had greater news of his godhood than we have today Shakespeare very beautifully said that we're all only actors in life's drama with our entrances and our exits the play is the thing the actors and directors are not important the teacher is not important the teaching is that's why I said at the beginning of this lecture you haven't come here to hear my opinions the experiences of all of us myself you and others these are important we find now the earth is like the great play and we've all had our parts whether they be large or small shall we soon move on to the greater play and perhaps the applauding of the celestial host itself shall ring in our ears let's each one of us see that we are a part of that you know I like to feel that road in the sky that the Indians talk about is still there I don't think that it disappeared the communication may have been cut off but that great road in the sky is still there

a long and a glory road that space visitors are traveling over once again a road that in magnitude and importance makes the Russian satellites look like candle flames next to an atomic furnace or a sun yet it is a road of conquest because the UFO intelligences have said they are here to invade and to conquer us but with one slight difference with love it is a road of conquest but it will never know and has never known marching feet nor the machines of war a road that is active once again if we will only look up and realize it can any of us refuse so great a gift the legacy of lost worlds buried now where a new age shall be born and above us space friends to guide us in our great day of inheritance our graduation day from this classroom of the father's realm I'd like to close this afternoon with a statement once made by the space intelligences themselves which I think is very beautiful return home to the earth come to the emptiness of our beings you have been so long absent from our hearts and souls friends I don't think it's very important whether a man
