[00:00] Opening remarks and introduction
The following lecture, entitled 25 Years of Flying Saucers, was delivered by John Otto at the Englewood Unit No. 15 of the Understanding Incorporated on the evening of Saturday, March 24, 1973. Barbara, how many have seen the article in the Examiner in connection with this UFO operations down in the Ozarks? And it's been on radio, several radio programs, and this gentleman, Mr. Hughes, who is researching this, flew all the way into Los Angeles just to give some of these talks
in regard to the operations down there. And for those of you who haven't heard it or read the article, there's some hundred or more who have signed that they have witnessed the appearance of the UFO. And many photographs have been taken and movies even of some of these flying objects down there. And they seem to go into these reservoirs, but they're in between several dams up there in the Ozarks.
And they have had leaks in these dams. Now, whether they are trying to assist and close off some of the leaks or just what they're doing, but the people in that area have been quite sort of on edge because they have seen so many of them. And so you probably will be hearing much more in this regard, either in the papers or over radio and television. But I just wanted you to know that there have been, that there is this activity presently down there in that area
for those of you who have not heard of it. And at this time, it gives me a great deal of pleasure to a man who has researched and done, a lot toward and has had many experiences in the UFO field. And so at this time, as well as to tell you about his 25 years, I believe he's, you're planning to bring a book out, 25 years of UFO?
I intend to write a book on it, yes. So I'll leave him... I'm excited to see how you will receive this lecture. At this time, it gives me a great deal of pleasure to introduce to you, John Otto, a very close friend and a speaker of the past. Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. This is probably my first lecture in, well, in several years.
And maybe you know that I had withdrawn from the Flying Saucer public roster about 1960. I felt that there wasn't anything new that was happening. And I'm an innovator. I have to come out with the new things. I can't talk about the... the old, like many people can. I don't particularly care for competition, either.
Innovators don't like competition. They like to be ahead of the field. And that's where I was for many years. Do you hear me all right? Is that PA system working all right? Now, I was talking with Mrs. Yates one evening, a few weeks ago, and a friend of mine from Continental Airlines
was sitting in there, and we were discussing a chap in Chicago that... many of you may have heard about, had you read any Chicago papers. However, this fellow has never been written, to my knowledge, outside of the Chicago area. Now, while we were talking of this man,
and we were banding around the stories and the excitement that we had, with Guido Franch, his name, we were asked then, could we put on a lecture about this fellow? And I thought about it for a moment, and I thought, yes, I could, and I would. But rather than just to leave it up to a...
make it a Guido Franch story, it would be a little boring, probably, to hear all of the details in the story, I decided that I would give a resume, a comprehensive survey, of my 25 years in the UFO field. And I intend, of course, to tell you some of the... well, some of the humors involved
with some of the people. Some are dead now, so I can speak of them. And others, I might still withhold a lot of information, but some of them are funnies. And some of them are tragic, also. And I will start off, though, by telling you how I first got in the UFO field. Does that interest all of you?
How I got in the UFO field. It started about way back in the 30s. I used to sail. And I used to lay on... off watch, I'd lay up on deck, and I'd look up at those stars, and I just couldn't realize that we were the only inhabitants in the universe. It looked like... it looked like...
there were all kinds of possibilities. I'd just lay there at night and watch all of that tremendous universe that we have around us. And nothing ever really happened at that time. I never saw anything. But I had this urge to know more about it. I was very fortunate, and I had a mother who had been studying Madame Blavatsky.
She was a theosophist. And Madame Blavatsky spoke of people inhabiting other planets. She also spoke of the time when this planet was in communication with them. So this was a mystery story to me. I had no proof of it. I knew nothing about it. But I just had heard about it.
Now, this may have been the start of my interest in what we call today UFOs. Anyhow, it started in real action in 1938. In 1938, I was running up in Westchester and returning to New York, coming in on Broadway, which is always a very, very busy street. Broadway is just full of hustle and bustle
and automobiles all night long. It used to be before the war. Anyhow, driving down from Westchester and coming into New York, I got to 125th Street, and there wasn't a soul on the streets. I couldn't figure this out. It bewildered me.
And I thought, hmm, what's happened? I went into a United Cigar store for a package of cigarettes. When I walked in the door, three people in there, two were up against the wall, like that.
Their faces were as white as sheets. The third one, apparently the manager of the store, he was behind the counter, and he was scared. I thought I'd walked in on a stick-up or something. That was the feeling. I said,
what the hell is wrong with you people? I see you on the street and I walk in here and you think you saw a ghost or something. They said, he's one of them. He's one of them. I said,
one what? And he said, haven't you heard the Martians have landed? And I said, my God, these people are really shook up. And I thought, I wonder if it could have happened.
I had argued for about a half hour with these people, let them know that I wasn't one of them. But I said, quite frankly, I've been expecting something like this to happen for years. It's about time,
if it happened. But the way they had heard the report was that these Martians were landing and killing people everywhere. And I just took a look at it, and I said, you've had a false report. Or if it has happened,
then somebody is misrepresenting the facts. Strangely enough, that's exactly what's been going on all through these years ever since the UFOs came around. People have been misrepresenting the facts. All the way down the line, even the contactees
have misrepresented the facts. But I knew at that time that this couldn't possibly be the case where people would come in and kill as they arrived. Anyhow, this made them feel more that I was one of them,
because I said, hooray, it's happening. Finally it's happening. And I finally left the place. I drove down Broadway and not a soul on the street, so there must have been several hundred thousand
other people who heard the same thing. Now let me tell you how this comes about. First of all, before the war, very few people had radios in their cars. They were pretty rare. And I was one of those
that didn't have one in my car. So I didn't know what had been going on. When I did get to my apartment, of course the radio broadcast, the Orson Welles broadcast that had scared everybody, I heard about it and I telephoned the station.
I couldn't get through. The next day I got the details because the next day, even the phones were blocked. I called through in the old blue and red network days. I called through to the station. I found out what had happened.
I tried to get a transcript because I was beginning to wonder if this had happened, what could I do to assist in this thing? Because I knew there was going to be a lot of help needed. If there was an interplanetary visitor,
an extraterrestrial intelligence landing and meeting with people of Earth, it's going to need a tremendous amount of liaison work. And I wanted to help. That's all. Simple as that. Well, needless to say, this wasn't the case.
It was a hoax. It was not a real hoax. It was just a story. And it was so well dramatized, of course, that everybody believed it when they heard it. We had some good radio broadcasts
in those days. They were very, very good broadcasts. I used to get thrilled with them myself. Anyhow, this particular story is what started me off to thinking what I would do when I made a choice,
a decision, of what I would do in the event something like this did happen. And, of course, the event did take place. Starting in 1948, it was 47
that Kenneth Arnold had his experience out in Chehalis, Washington. But in 48, I had gathered, by 48, I'd gathered a great deal of material. I didn't know what to do with it. My files were starting to bulge.
I didn't know what to do with it. I was just filing it away. And I was a little skeptical and cautious, like many of you are today that just walk into the UFO field. I was extremely skeptical because of that first incident,
maybe, or just because I couldn't quite put my finger on it, why it would happen that way. Because if I was running the show, I would do it differently. That's what an innovator thinks anyhow. So, anyhow,
as I examined all of these bits of data and filed them away, I had a rather retentive memory, and I used to catch all kinds of clippings out of the papers that other people just pass over. And I had a business at that time that gave me the opportunity
of getting all over this country of ours, and into Canada and into Mexico. If I saw a newspaper report, maybe a one-inch column about like that, about somebody down in New Orleans having seen a strange flying object or an unidentified flying object, as they became known,
I just routed myself down into New Orleans, and I'd follow up the story. I always looked for the in-depth material around the story. I never called the man a liar or the woman, whatever the case may be. I used to walk in and communicate with these people,
and I wanted to hear their story. And I got all kinds of little bits of details that most investigators never get. And that, of course, gives you, the man, the opportunity to get a lot of funny stories out of it, too. But in doing this,
I'd also check the area and find out what was in the area that might interest an interplanetary intelligence. Because I felt that there was not only the individual involved, there was something else involved with their landings.
I still haven't found out all the answers, and I don't profess to know them now, and I don't believe any one of us will have all of the answers. And what is going to happen in the future will probably make what we know today very, very pale indeed. Anyhow, this was my start
in the UFO field. Now, about 1952, I took a run up to Alaska. It was the summer of 1952. I went up to Alaska, and on the way up there, I was looking for UFOs. I felt that if I could see one
out in the bush someplace, it's about the best place a man could find it, a nice lonely area where there weren't a lot of people. And I had my family along, we drove up to Alaska, not a damn thing did I see
all the way up there, but we had a great trip. Anyhow, on the return, we're down, I'd say we were about 200 miles north of Whitehorse. And I had everybody in the car, which was my wife,
my son, who was eight years old, and a friend of his from Chicago had come along, who was about eight himself. And I had them looking at the clouds and picking out little pictures in the clouds, you know, a little, you know,
how we used to do it, there's a Santa Claus and there's a ship, and, you know, just beautiful cloud coverage up there. And I had them picking these pictures out. Anyhow, they'd been doing this for about an hour,
just whiling away the time. And this way, it was giving me complete coverage, 360-degree coverage, and I could just watch the road in case something did happen. And it did. It did happen.
Up in the upper right-hand corner of the windshield, as you'll be looking at it, there was a bright, suddenly, a bright speck of light, bluish-white light, just a little pinpoint. And at that instant,
we all got it at the same instant they saw it, and that filled the windshield within an instant now, with a speck of light way out in space, and there it came right down and right to the car,
and it swept across in front of the car and shot up into space. And you could see, as it went by, just a flurry of sparks. It was an elongated shape. That's all I can call it,
since I have deduced it to have been probably a cigar-shaped craft. And I thought, well, I've seen my first vehicle from space. But I said nothing. This is to me, myself. The young fellow in the back says,
John Otto's daddy. He says, was that one of them there UFOs and flying saucers? And I says, I don't know what it was, but I think it's related. That's all I can tell him,
because I didn't know what it was, but it sure was striking. Mrs. Otto, of course, flipped her lid. She says, you're crazy, that was a meteor. So we argued for about
a half hour or so, discussing what, if that had been a meteor, surely we would have been dead, because it came right for the car. It filled the whole windshield of the car from a speck like that. In an instant,
it filled the whole windshield. And then you could see it sweep up off the planet like that, in an obtuse angle, and gone. And if it had been a meteor, it would have struck. Or even at that close proximity,
had it just been going by the planet, we would have cooked from the temperature alone. But they didn't know that. You can't blame them for that, because they don't know it. I happen to know it, so I knew it wasn't a meteor.
And meteors don't go like that. Meteors go like that. And they land and become a meteorite. However, this was my, essentially one of my first sightings. Very spectacular, but there it was. And then I was in the swim. I became another celestial croc.
Everything, everything in the sky I had to look at. Everything. There wasn't a thing that I could pass up. But excuse me, I had some salmon for supper, and I need the water.
Very sticky after you've had a lot of salty salmon, but it's good. Anyhow, we, I got back to Chicago, and guess what I found out? This was in August I got back, and I found out that
the biggest flap in the history of the United States had taken place over Washington, D.C. You may have read it in the recent Inquirer, I believe it was, or Tattler. There was a big article about
the flap that never really got the proper coverage. Craft were over Washington, D.C., were sighted visibly, and of course by radar, and we all felt in the field in 1952, with all of that action going on,
surely nobody could cover this up, and the people would be told in no uncertain terms that something was at least happening beyond their understanding. That's what we thought. But they so beautifully covered that up. I think it was Major Tacker
or General Tacker of the Air Force, he just covered this thing up so beautifully while the radar men were wrong, and these were new radar pieces of equipment and blah, blah, blah. They didn't even say or speak of the people that saw it physically.
And this was all over the entire city of Washington, D.C. These craft and flying over the White House also and the Capitol, they had blocked all of our radio communications so they couldn't even get the interceptor base to send in interceptors to protect the Capitol.
And I can't go into the depth of the story, but it was a very striking event, and I thought, my God, I missed it all. And then I thought again, but I didn't miss it all. That must have been one of them that came up there and gave me a show up there in Alaska.
That's what it felt like anyhow. So I still did nothing about all the data that I had, and the information I had. I had no outlet for it. And then I came to the first International Flying Saucer Convention here in Hollywood.
Many of you may have known of Max Miller. Today he's a photographer, a very successful one. But Max Miller set up the first International Flying Saucer Convention in Hollywood. We'd been communicating, and so I came out to this meeting.
But let me tell you how I came out to it. I was going to New York on business, and usually my niece and I had a New York run. It took two or three weeks. I couldn't get away from Chicago. And finally on my, when I did get away,
I made a run that I never intended to do, just like this. I was spinning on my axes up here someplace or that way, I don't know. But I wound up going down to Fort Wayne, Indiana, where I never sold in Fort Wayne,
to speak of. It was just a passing through area. And I'm way off my course because I'm heading for Buffalo and Niagara Falls area. And I thought, what am I doing down here? And I left there the next morning,
and guess what I did? I left my bag, my suit, and everything in the motel room. I said, this is weird, but I'll go ahead and I'll sell here, and then I'll sell coming back into it, pick up my bag, and then head for Cleveland.
And I'm just getting into Cleveland the next day, and I'm looking up as I always did, 360 degrees around, and there's a flying saucer going in my direction into Cleveland. I looked at it, looked at it. Oh, no, it can't be.
That's just an airplane and the sun's hitting it. It was a UFO. And I stopped. It stopped. And I moved. It moved. I said, this is pretty interesting.
I wonder if he knows that I'm going out to that convention in California. And then I realized the date. Why, I've only, I've got to be leaving either tonight or tomorrow morning if I'm going to get to that convention.
And I thought, that's weird. Maybe that's why I've been delayed. Very surprising. Subjective. But this is what I was thinking at the time. And this darn craft made a complete U-turn like that
and headed west. By this time, everybody in the streets going into Cleveland were observing the same thing because it was very low and it was obviously a saucer. A disc craft with a dome on it.
And he's glowing like crazy and he headed west. So I stopped, pulled out my money, counted my money. I said, my God, I've got more than I ever anticipated. From that little selling trip
down there in Indiana. And I says, to hell with it. I'm going to California. I made a U-turn too. And that saucer stayed right there to make sure, it seemed, that I was going. And he hung right on to me
all the way through to Chicago. And just outside of Chicago, everybody on the highway were running into each other and they were looking at it and pointing at it and everything. And I felt it was for me, specifically for me.
He disappeared just before we got into Chicago. I rushed up the house. I asked if the family would come. Oh, no, you take John. Okay. John was to come with me. That's my boy.
He was eight years old. And we headed for California. Well, we covered a lot of the interesting things in a great hurry. And we get out to, we covered the cliff dwellings right out near Flagstaff.
And we saw the Grand Canyon. My son had never seen them. So we took them in, just spotted them in. We were just leaving Needles and I don't believe we were out of Needles any more than about
maybe a half hour to an hour. In fact, if you want to time it, I've never gone back over the route and made an actual check run on the thing. But I get to the place called Baghdad. It was just a little whistle stop
out there on Route 66 at that time. You know Baghdad? I can tell the way she's smiling she knows Baghdad. Anyhow, it was just a whistle stop. And the name was significant to what happened.
Baghdad, you know, and the magic lantern. Anyhow, I had a feeling of being followed. And maybe those of you that have heard the story from our friend Larry Foreman, how he said he felt
he was followed. All right, I've had this feeling many times, but this was very strong. One of my first times that I really felt it. I felt I was being followed and I kept looking out of the back of the car
and I couldn't see a thing. And then all of a sudden, like this at 2 o'clock in the morning, a burst of light and the whole desert was lit up with a bluish-white flash
like a welding torch, only it was prolonged and it stayed there. There wasn't a shadow, not a shadow from this light. It was the most amazing thing. It just enveloped everything, this light effect.
And there to the left, over the mountains, which is about a mile, mile and a half away, a very low little range, and over those mountain peaks there, there was this large cigar-shaped craft
pacing me down the highway on Route 66. And I'm going to the first international flying saucer convention in Hollywood. And this is what it looked like. And it filled two-thirds
of my car door window. And I wanted to stop. And I thought, no, he's moving. If I stop, I'm going to miss it. And I had the impression, that's all,
an impression, stay where you are, fill your eyeballs. And that's exactly what I did. I filled my eyeballs. And my son was asleep. I couldn't wake him up. I kicked him
[23:43] Main address
and I hustled. I did everything to wake him up. For some particular reason, they didn't want him to have that experience that night. That's all I can say.
He had many others. He's seen many other craft. But he didn't see that particular one. Anyhow, I wondered, is this a saucer on edge
that I'm looking at? Or is it truly a cylindrical craft? They got the message. Boy, that was my first real jolt. They knew what I was thinking because they moved
that craft ahead like that. And I could see it was cylindrical. And then they slacked off and paced me for 15 minutes in the wee hours of the morning.
One of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen of a UFO. And I've seen many of them. Been involved in many sightings. Signaled them in and they've come around.
But never have I seen anything quite as beautiful as that was. And strangely enough, it was like the identity of a Adamski craft. Blunt on both ends. Tapered like a stovepipe.
You've all seen the pictures of Adamski's photographs, I believe, in his books. It's called The Mothership. He called it. I didn't know what it was
other than it was a beautiful and it was a big craft. Not a sound. Anyhow, within moments that thing took off. And it was nothing but a bright star
far to the west where we were going. I went to sleep. But that night a lot of ideas were born. I conceived that very night that on that light
was some means by which they communicated to me. I thought. So I conceived a light beam transceiver that night. I didn't do anything with it
until I got back to Chicago. When I returned to Chicago I built a light beam transceiver. And I became very successful with it in communications with UFOs. Occupants of UFOs. Anyhow,
when I get into Hollywood there was George Adamski selling his pictures of the very craft or the very same type craft that had followed me that night at Baghdad.
People said to me what do you think of this nut that's talking up there? I says, I don't know. I don't know. I'm like you.
I don't know. He says, oh those pictures are phony. And that was hard for me to sit there and button up and say nothing that one had followed me
early that morning. And this is in the afternoon. Very hard. But in this field you get to holding back lots of information and I hope to tell you a lot more of that
we've been withholding for a long, long time. Anyhow, I get back to Chicago and I wanted to meet with these people because I knew by this time
there were people involved. Intelligent people. I just knew it. Now, how does anybody know anything first of all, people say
you have to be exposed to intelligence to know anything. I say, that's a lot of baloney. You can know something without having been exposed to it. Some people can anyhow.
I had this feeling and I thought, well, I've got to meet them. That's all there is to it. I wanted to meet them so bad I could taste it. I just couldn't go back to work.
To hell with work. I went out and I'm on my way on a business run out to Rockford. I stopped the car and I said, to hell with everything.
And I laid right down on the grass and I says, damn it all, you come on in. That's all. I stayed there all day and I fell asleep.
And it was in the evening and it was getting kind of chilly there. And when I get up off the grass, I said, that was a crazy thing to do. Then I thought, I wonder if it was.
I wonder if I got through. I may have already gotten through long before that but I didn't know about it at the time. I found out later that I must have. But in this particular case,
I was really making a point out of the thing like I was on strike. I got back, I got back into Chicago and I'm laying in my bed and a strange thing, at two o'clock in the morning,
I can't get this out of my mind. I've got to meet them. That's all there is to it. I will not take no for an answer. I won't take any more bullshit. I'm going to see you. That's all there is to it. And there was a little spread
in the window about like that. You could see a little bit up into the sky and there's a building had been built next door. And up in that little patch of window,
I'm sitting up there and I had the shade drawn all the way up. And by God, if a UFO doesn't come right over and pause, way out in space now, but there he pauses.
And I thought, my God, they can look through my brain and see where they're going to be so that I can see them. This is an amazing accomplishment. And while I'm thinking that, suddenly pow!
And there's a guy stands right at the edge of my bed. Now, this is a, this is a, a, almost like a,
what would you call it? A projection. The man wasn't there, but it was a projection of the man. You couldn't see through him. He was as solid as any other man,
but he was not a man as such. He was a projection of a man in full dimension right on the edge of my bed. And I'm shook all up.
That's all. The fellow was about my size, maybe a little bit taller. He was dressed in a leather-like suit. His mouth didn't move, but I got all of the message that was coming out.
And this is what he said. And I've never told this to anybody. That's why I told you you're going to hear things that have never been told in the UFO field. If I'd told this
when I had my TV show in Chicago, they would have thrown me off the air. I would have been another spook. But I'm telling you things tonight that are
real inside story. This fellow, standing on the edge of the bed, and he's telling me, so now you know we're real. And I said,
I sure as hell do. I'm speaking now, and if anybody was to come in the room apparently and see this fellow standing there, they would have all got shook up.
But anyhow, I said, I sure as hell do. And he says, what do you want to do in this thing? And I blurted out, just like somebody
standing there in an auditing session, I blurted out, liaison. And he says, so be it. Just like that. So be it.
His mouth didn't move. He was speaking to me from his craft. I found out later exactly how he did it. From his craft, he was speaking
and controlling the whole thing and projected his own image right there before me. He could have been in the room too if he wanted to be,
but that isn't the way he did it. He projected himself in the room. And as he was speaking to me, he says, so be it.
He says, now wipe out these thoughts of meeting with us. Put that on the side. And he said, you learn all you can
about your fellow men and all you can about us. That's all. And he was gone. I lay there on my arm and I was thinking
and thinking and thinking and thinking and thinking and spinning and spinning and spinning and I thought,
my God, how can I tell anybody about this experience? This is a weird one. Really weird, you know. How am I going to tell anybody?
Don't tell anybody. Just keep it quiet. And I'm dozing off and you know what I forget. He knocked my arm. Pow! And this is the words,
when you're thinking about us, you don't go to sleep. Believe it or not, I felt that arm. I felt that arm for a long time. It reminded me.
You don't go to sleep when you're communicating with us. So, that started the thing into motion. Well,
anyhow, that was, still, I wasn't in the field. I wasn't really in there. But the weirdest
thing happened. The very next day, the telephone started to ring. People were calling me from California. People were
calling me from London. How did they know about me? Everybody has to find, you know, the physical
reasons why to everything. I wanted to know why too, but I couldn't find out any physical reasons why in this case.
But they were calling me, giving me scraps and bits of information. They were calling me from all over the planet to start to pour
in on me. And then, several years later, I was foolhardy enough to even wonder why. I was Mr. Top Banana
in the flying saucer field for so many years. I was still beginning wondering, pinching myself, how come? I'd requested it,
liaison duty. I had to pull the people out of the nuthouses in this thing. I have many stories to tell you, so I'm going to
jump from that. I've gotten into the UFO field now, so I'll jump from that and I'm going to tell you some of the exciting experiences we had with
different people. And some of the tragedies, as I told you, that I wanted to tell you. And time is going to be a little short
to tell you all of them because some of them are beautiful stories. Anyhow, I will tell one more, my first lecture. I had read
in the paper that Dr. Schatzel of the Chicago Observatory was going to be speaking at the Manatka,
just north of Chicago. He was going to be speaking on the possibilities of life in outer space. And right at
this time the Mantell affair, pilot Mantell, you've probably all heard about it, the first one, the first airplanes
allegedly ran into a UFO and was down. Anyhow, the Mantell incident, we call it a lot of times.
Anyhow, this was in the press at that time or had been in the press at that time. I get up
to the North Shore Country Day School and I found, I don't know how it happened but I was right in the middle. I never sit
in the middle. I usually sit on the side and I can observe everybody. But here I'm right in the middle toward the front
so that if anything happened I was right there. I don't know how I got there. I just and there I was. Anyhow,
Schatzel was showing up and he says absolutely impossible. There is no such
thing as another inhabitant anywhere in the universe but right here. And the kids,
I call them kids, the young people that were there and there were a lot of them. The auditorium was filled
to capacity. Must have been about 3,000 or 4,000 people there. Anyhow, I'm sitting there
and afterwards questions and answers and they kept asking about this pilot Mantell and the incident. They kept
asking about flying saucers. The fellow was getting very irked about the thing and then he hung himself.
And when he hung himself I was waiting for it. And as soon as I heard it then I raised my hand
for a question. He had said they were merely this pilot was merely chasing the apparition
of the planet Venus. Okay, this has been a big excuse you know all through the years chasing the apparition
of the planet Venus. So anyhow, when it's closest to proximity to Earth it looks pretty bright out there
and lots of people think they see a flying saucer when they see it. But anyhow, he had said this. He put his
foot into it. He put his foot into his own mouth because now I've got him. And I raised my hand
and he looked at me. I must look very innocent because he looked down in there like, oh,
I'll pick from this man. He looks like he's sensible. I'll ask him a question. And he reaches
out there to me and I said, sir, at the closest proximity he knows he's going
to get hooked. And he, I believe he misunderstood the question, sir. I'll rephrase it.
And by this time all of these young people are sitting there, you could hear pins drop.
They said, this is what we want to ask but we didn't know how to do it.
You could feel it, you know. You could hear it, you could see it. But I
don't know what that means. I don't know how to see
it. I don't know how to see it. But I
think that's not a good idea. I'm not sure
And about this time, I suddenly, like my mouth tonight from the salt, sticky, I couldn't talk. And I'm no astronomer. Believe me, I know very little about astronomy. I know a few little stars up there and a few little formations in the heavens, but I'm not an astronomer. And I would have been made a piece of jelly had I gotten into an argument with this man, because he was an astronomer and a good one. And so when I got up to the platform to speak with him, I realized this. And I said, I'm sorry, I have another engagement, and I must say goodbye.
And I left. On the way out, the president of the school called me over, all of them, the whole staff met me there, and invited me in to come and speak to that school on flying saucers. And that was my first public flying saucer lecture, because the way he saw me handle Dr. Schatzel. Anyhow, that was my start. Shortly after that, anyhow, I started to sponsor the various ufologists that came through Chicago. And many of them you've heard or know, including Dan Fry. I've sponsored Dan Fry in Chicago many times.
But now to some of the funny stories. Okay, the real funnies. We had a case where when I met Truman Bethlehem first, Truman is now deceased, Truman Bethlehem, he says, when I met him in the Hollywood Hills here in 53, and there were a number of people around, the press was there, and Truman says, no, I'm not going to talk. He says, no, I don't want that coffee. He says, you've got some truth serum in there.
And I looked at the fellow, and I thought, this guy's really flipped. He sure had an experience. Nobody could believe his experience. I did. I read it carefully. I studied the man, and I wondered, why would they pick him? And then I saw why.
He was so damn simple. He could never have made that story up. That's why they picked him. Simple. But everybody said, oh, why didn't they pick the, you know, take me to your leader bit. Somebody prominent. A scientist or the president or what have you. And they picked Truman Bethlehem as one of the many.
Anyhow, Truman Bethlehem looks at me. He says, no, I don't want that coffee. He says, oh, you're that reporter. You're going to steal my book. I says, reporter? I'm no reporter. I'm a UFO reporter, probably, but I'm no reporter. No press reporter.
You're going to steal my book. You're also a writer. I says, no, I'm not even a writer. But this is what he was thinking. He was psychotic as hell. So when I get back to Chicago, and I get a telephone call from Truman Bethlehem, he says, he's in Philadelphia. This is some time later now.
But he's in Philadelphia, and he says, I decided I would like to come and speak in Chicago. I says, fine. I said, he says, but I want a $1,000 guarantee. I says, look, mister, you got rocks in your head. I haven't got a thousand pennies I can give you. I says, if you want to come out like everybody else and take 50% of the net of the gate,
come to Chicago. But be prepared to spend about a week. And I'm Mr. Hitler. I will not let you go here, there, and everywhere. You will be right on. At my beck and call, like that, he didn't like this. No ufologist likes this, to be told where to, when to come, when to go. But I said, this is what I'm going to do if you come to Chicago.
And we'll put you on, and if you're good, that's all. You'll get it. You'll get 50% after the expenses. So anyhow, his demand was $1,000. And I thought, well, that was, Truman Bethlehem was gone, finished. About four days later, he's in Chicago. Phone rings. Mr. Otto, I've decided to come and speak on your terms.
Very good. It just so happened my son, our brother-in-law, had gone up to Canada and left his apartment, so we put him up in an apartment. It didn't cost us any hotel. You know, we just parked him in there, had a refrigerator. He didn't like that. He didn't like that.
He'd rather be in a nice, classy hotel at my expense. Anyhow, I was a little worried about how, what kind of a show. We're going to have, except those boys upstairs had a lot to do with this. Truman never did know it. I don't believe he ever knew how much they worked with him. I never saw such a turnout in my whole entire life,
and the whole UFO field is what happened with this man. They were lined up all the way down to Michigan Boulevard, four or five deep. 32 West Roundoff was a meeting place, and my God, we couldn't even get the speaker up in the elevator. It was a madhouse. You never saw it. We had to dump the lecture hall and fill it again.
The fire department was there trying to clean the people out, and this is how it happened. We'd been on a broadcast or two, and one of the broadcasts had a lot of telephone answers coming in. Jack Igan is his name, and Jack Igan, while he was communicating there, the phone rang, and his cronies and old friends, lawyers and touts and Vegas characters,
called me up. What the hell? What do you got that nut on for? Get him off of there. He's a damn liar, you know. Truman doesn't even hear it. He's just talking over his glasses like that, and he's talking to the people in the nightclub.
It doesn't bother him at all. He doesn't even hear. Nothing comes in. It's all going out. So anyhow, Truman, he tells his story. This created an argument the week before the lecture, and every time they'd call up Jack and say, don't put that cat.
Don, my God, you're going to ruin your program. And he's, don't argue with me. Go down there and argue with those two nuts, that John Otto and that other nut that has been on the sorcery there. 32 West Randolph Street. And he kept saying this every night, and it covered about 38 states. This is how the damn lecture hall got filled that night.
We had free publicity and didn't realize it. They were so jammed up in there, you never saw anything like it in your life. Climbing up the elevators, and then they were, they were scalping tickets in the front. They, people were offering $1,000 to get into the lecture hall, and they couldn't get in.
$1,000, and there were no tickets. I never used tickets. You just pay as you come in the door, but we never used tickets. And so, well, where's your ticket? And here's money they were offering to, and there's going on. Oh, what a mess out there.
You never saw anything like it. So anyhow, Truman went out of Chicago with $1,000 in his pocket. Strangely enough, 50% of the head of the gate was $1,000. Just what he requested. That's how simple. Anyhow, that's one of the funnies. There's a tragedy with the same story.
Oh, oh, I see. You wanted, you want me to tell you a Truman-Bethlehem story, his flying saucer story? I came to hear about... Yeah, you were hearing some things you haven't heard before, had you? I'm hearing about you, but I'm not hearing about flying saucers. That's what I said.
There's my 25 years in flying saucers, but I'll tell you more if you want. Okay? I will. But my story is, my 25 years is an autobiography of me and my 25 years in flying saucers. And you will hear some flying saucer stories. But I'm telling you about the personalities behind
and some of the humors and some of the tragedies about the people in the field. Okay? But I'll tell you about Truman-Bethlehem briefly. You haven't read his book, I presume. Okay, Truman-Bethlehem had 11 meetings aboard a flying saucer. He was a contractor, or not a contractor, he was a bulldozer operator, I guess,
working with some contractors on the highway job out around Vegas. And he had gone to sleep in his truck and he woke up and there was a 300-foot saucer out there. And he saw these people standing in the window, motioning to him. They invited him aboard. I'm just cutting the story very short
because I didn't come here to tell his story. Most of the people know him and have met him personally in this group. And anyhow, he had 11 meetings with these people. And the captain of this particular ship was the only female I think we've ever heard about. Her name was Ora Raines. And she invited him for a trip to their planet.
And he was a little shook up and he was very apprehensive and he never did go. To my knowledge, he didn't go. And since, he's passed away. Okay? So much for his story. But now, the tragedy of that particular night I'm telling you about.
Truman Bedham had never had any more than maybe $50 for a night. Or maybe $10 or $15. Private homes and things like that. Truman hadn't, didn't have a business brain in his head. He's probably a darn good bulldozer operator or a drag line operator. But he didn't have a business brain in his head.
And he knew how to push his book. That's quite true. But he just didn't have that sense. Or even the common sense that most people would have. And this chap, that night, after the meeting in Chicago, we always had this coffee end, you know, afterwards. And we were in Toffanetti's restaurant. We had some very prominent doctors and lawyers
and very close friends, engineers in our group in Chicago. Very, very high tone types of people. And here they were all sitting there just thrilled with his story. Thrilled with the experience. They understood the man was just an ordinary individual. But, boy, did he shake them up. He demanded that I pay him immediately right there. I says, Truman, are you sure this is what you want?
And I says, the briefcase is full of $1 bills and silver. $1.50 is the gate fee. So you can imagine my briefcase with thousands of people coming in there. You can imagine what that briefcase was just filled full of single bills. How do you count that in a restaurant? And I'll use the word, poor, stupid Truman. He demanded to be paid right there. And I says, okay, give me the briefcase.
And somebody got a hold of him and told him. Then he realized when he saw all those bills in the briefcase, well, then he agreed he'd come up to the apartment and he'd count the money. But you know what he did? He ruined himself. Absolutely ruined himself. This is one of the tragedies. Here's this great experience.
Here's this great thing. Here's this great thing. Here's this great thing. Here's this great thing. He ruined himself. Everybody sitting in there thought this and the guy is only in it for the buck. So what else could they just, he went down like that. He never did have any big meetings after that to my knowledge.
He had his first big opportunity and he flubbed it, just blew it. Anyhow, several of the others have done the same to some one degree or the other. Anyhow, this is one of the tragedies. In the UFO field, we had a great many of them. Now, to the humor and the tragedy mixed together. We had a number of different experiences, though, where these people that we would run into were psychotic as all get out and we had to be able to handle it. Even George Adamski, fine chap, and I know them all and know them well.
George was very hard to manage. And it's a little bit of humor with this one. It was a 5,000 turnout audience in Detroit. He had begged me in Chicago to please come with him to Detroit. And he said, because this meeting, he didn't know how to handle it all alone, would I help him? And he said, you know the story, please come. So I went to Detroit to help him. And here he's got 5,000 people standing room only in this tremendous big auditorium in Detroit.
Boy, that Detroit Flying Saucer Club really put on a show. They knew how to really put on a show. 5,000 people standing, the biggest at that time that I ever knew to stand out for one man. And he's standing there and he's talking like this. And there's 5,000 people out there and they couldn't hear him. And everybody's just fascinated with him. They're sitting there to the great George Adamski, you know, as he's speaking. And nobody's even thinking what's going on.
I jumped up on the stage and the mic is at the end of its cord. I can't get the mic in. I can't get the mic any closer to him. And the people are murmuring and mumbling in there. The 5,000 people started to rumble. Get on the mic, get on the mic. They started to beat, you know, because they couldn't hear him. And I get a hold of George and I get a hold of the mic.
And as I push George toward the mic, he takes a swipe at me like that. And I just ducked like that. And George almost fell over. And I just, and I put my hand over the mic. I said, you damn fool, get on the microphone. And George suddenly realized he wasn't on the microphone. He couldn't hear him. He didn't know.
He was so busy telling his story, he completely forgot about the mechanics of the thing. So anyhow, that's another little bit of humor. And George is dead or I would never tell you that story. Anyhow, yeah, but he was a great guy and he sure had an audience. Man, and his people were very loyal to George. One time George came into Chicago and he says to me, I'm sick, John. He said, I can't lecture, can't lecture.
And I'd already been on the air about a dozen times during the week telling the people that he's going to speak today. And the, he says, I'm sick. I said, what's my problem, George? He's up in the hotel. He's laying there, he's pale as all get out. And he says, I got a heart attack. I said, don't give me that, you're sick.
But he says, it isn't there. I said, tell me the truth. Finally, he told me. He had a very bad case of piles. I says, what the hell are you doing sitting down? I says, lay down on your belly then. And then I tried to get him home on the air, but he would never fly. Oh, no, he had to go home by train.
But I said, before you go, you're going to make a tape for me because my audience is going to swear that I cheated and I used your name to fill my hall. So I made them, I made a tape in which he apologized to the audience, told them that he was ill and he had to go home. Boy, that audience then, when I had a big hall and the people had turned out to hear George Adamski and did I look like a crook?
You know, you know George, and I've got to run the lecture. I got to run my slides and everything else, but they want George Adamski and no George. So I put on the tape and boy, they were ready to hang me until they heard that tape. Then everything went on fine. And that same lecture, I had to go to Salt Lake City and speak for George.
His publisher said they would pay me and I had to sue them later to get the money, incidentally. But they said they would pay me if I went out to Salt Lake City, autographed his books and spoke at the Council, what is it, World Council of Religions or something. They had a big, big affair on that year. Anyhow, some of the many experiences.
Now to the real goody, real funny, funny, funny story. This was in Chicago. And many, many different people came into the UFO field from various, various walks of life. And I had been very popular on my own TV show and I was disseminating always new data. I hated to run over old hash. It was always new data.
There's always something new happening and everybody knew that it would be new if they came to my meeting or they listened to me on the air. And in this particular case, though, the press wanted me to run a story. So I says, you write the story and I'll give you the data. And there was a whole series come out in the Chicago, the Herald, the Herald Examiner, I guess it was.
And this whole series of stories came out and I said, now I have the mail that's supposed to come to me. Yes, it was agreed. I would get the mail from the story. You can have the story, the hell with the story. Just give me the mail because there's going to be a lot of live ones in there, good new information. They didn't give me the mail.
They gave me all the crap mail. They kept all the goodies. The reporter came into me all excited one day. Oh, gosh, he was excited. He said, oh, look, look at this, John, look at this. There's a guy, he's got a spaceship and he's got this and he's got that.
I says, it looks to me like it's a phony. At first thought, I think it's a phony, that's all. But, but, but look at this. Look, he even makes water burn. He makes gasoline out of water. And I said, this is really phony. I says, uh-uh, you can't get anything for nothing. You're going to have to put a lot more chemicals into it
to make it burn. Then what it's worth, you know, is then go down and buy your own gallon of gasoline. Oh, no, you're wrong, John. This is terrific. This is this, this is that. I just wiped it off my mind. This is just one of the, you know, the wheat and the chaff.
This is chaff, to hell with it. I'm after some wheat and we had a lot of good ones. So I should chase after this? No, I wasn't going to do a thing about that. Oh, I would say about three, four months later, I get a telephone call from a Pacific, or General Motors, Electromotive Division in Palos Park. They said, Mr. Otto, we've listened to you on the air.
We've heard you at your lectures. We know you have some real good information on propulsion of flying saucers. We want to build a flying saucer and we want your information. Would you come down and speak to us? They closed off the entire engineering laboratory just for me that day. And what do they do when I get down there?
They start talking about this. They start talking about this fellow who burns water. I said, oh, for God's sakes, do you want to hear some really interesting data or do you want to listen to that garbage? This is not garbage. Do you see that building out there? We're going to build a saucer in that building.
And this man that you say is speaking garbage, he says he has run every one of our pieces of equipment on water. Can you help us get this formula? I says, you're serious about this? I'm shook up. You're really serious? He can do this. Certainly, and there's a big flying saucer story attached to it.
They got the information from people from another planet a long time ago. I says, this sounds way out. Ooh, one of those way, way out stories. But look, I'll... He says, you know these flying saucer nuts. He says, you can know how to deal with them. We want it. We'll give him any amount of money he wants, anything he wants.
We want to buy this formula. I says, okay, set it up. Set up a meeting. I'll see what I can do to negotiate the purchase of this fuel. So that's as far as it went. I never did have the meeting. I never met the guy, and I was just as glad anyhow. Who wants to meet another nut like this, I thought.
So some months later, a fellow, a mutual friend of ours, the Yates family, myself, had a Continental Airlines chap. He came into Chicago, and I got him interested in a number of different things that were going on in Chicago, but he came rushing into a meeting one night, and he says, John, John, John, come on, come on. I says, I'll bet you've met this guy, Guido Franch, the guy that makes gasoline burn.
How did you know? How did you know? I said, I don't know, there's just a look on your face, and I'll bet you met him. And he says, look, I'm going to see a saucer, and I'm going to see a spaceship tonight. I'm going aboard a spaceship tonight. Come on along.
And I looked at it. I thought, okay, we can't lose, let's go. I didn't meet him before, but now I'll get a chance to meet him. So we took off, and we get out to the west side of Chicago. We meet this fellow, Guido Franch. And I turn to Guido, it's a little bar we meet in. Real cruddy little bar. He's a hell of a personable chap, this character.
And he says, I said to him, how come I never met you before? I said, the Pacific, or General Motors, the Electromotive Division, had, you know, had wanted me to meet with you. He said, oh, I heard about that. I said, how come I didn't meet you before? And how come you never called on me? He says, how come you never called on me? I says, touche.
I said, you know, that's it. You're out there, and I'm out there, and that's the way we were. He started to tell me his story, and here's the story, essentially. In this little gem mill, he says, a couple of German engineers, in 1913, had met with people from another planet, in Germany, before the war now, first war. And in this meeting, they'd given him a lot of technical information. One of them was the building of a spaceship. The other was various forms of fuel.
And you can make gasoline, literally, make gasoline, out of water, out of H2O. And it was, the main constituents to this were from a coal derivative, plus several other chemicals. And I thought, that sounds pretty interesting. And then what happened? He says, well, this fellow came over here in 19, about 1916, he came over here. He and two other engineers came over here,
and they tried to sell this to our government. Our government locked one of them up. And then he got away, and they never did find him. From that point on, he was an outlaw. Because they'd locked him up, because of this very striking information. Anyhow, he, it seems like these engineers had settled in the coal area of southern Illinois, where they could get a lot of coal, to make this fuel, apparently. And in the southern Illinois, where they settled,
Guido Franz was a 14-year-old boy. He, they got a group of people around together to work. And Guido Franz, the one that I'm telling you about, the nut in Chicago, was then a 14-year-old boy, at the time this happened. He became very close to this, the one of the engineers. And he was given the entire formulas for making these fuels and other things. And the spaceship, though, and the crews that they had, they built five spaceships. Four were lost.
Four were lost, out in space, on tests, just lost. The fifth one survived. And the fifth spaceship that they had built, they, he rebuilt the whole fleet again, to five, copying the one that was successful. Now, of course, this is the basics to the story. But then comes Guido Franz. Now, all of them have died off, most of them have gone. And Guido, there's a crew yet, involved with several of the spaceships, and Guido, as we call him,
is the chap that has the formula. And he is like the leg man. He goes out and he gets money for these fellows. And, man, does he get money. He's the greatest showman that you ever saw. The newspapers in Chicago call him either the world's greatest crook and phony, or the world's greatest, period, because of what he can do. And they show pictures of him stirring his formula up in water and, you know, fire it up, put it in your car.
I've driven for almost four months on his gasoline in my car. And I know, I even have some of the crystals and some of the, I don't have the formula. Nobody could get that. But anyhow, he, of course, is supposed to be able to call in his friends and come in with these spaceships. And now comes the Henry Ford involvement and Rockefeller involvement in this same thing. It seems that I met my friend from Continental at a flying saucer meeting up here in Rio. You know, a few years ago. And I said, say, have you seen Guido lately?
He said, oh, you're going to Chicago, John. Be sure and look him up. Be sure and look him up. I said, will do. When I get to Chicago, on my way east, I never get out of Chicago. I was stuck there right through to Christmas almost, from July right through to Christmas. I get into Chicago. I call Guido.
And Guido says, you're just the man I want to see. He said, you've got to sell my fuel for me. I says, oh, no. Oh, no. I want no part of selling fuel. You're the only man can do it. No, I want no part of it. But tell me how things going, so forth, so on, so on.
But I'm thinking, maybe I will. Maybe I will. And then he says, look, Ford wants it. But he says, you're the guy to do it. I says, what do you mean Ford wants it? Certainly, Ford wants that fuel. He wants it bad. I says, you don't know Ford, do you?
I don't, huh? And he goes right over to the wall. And he dials in the phone. And he gets Ford and Dearborn. Wakes him up out of bed. And he gets him up. I says, no, I don't want to talk to the guy. He has Henry Ford, too, on the phone.
And I says, this guy's a real nut. So anyhow, anybody. This fella has his own private number right there. The Rockefellers, all of them. He's got them. Ding, ding, ding, ding. He can call them. They know him personally.
I says, man, this guy's really got something. He's really a phony, or he's really got something. So I thought, there's only one way to handle this. Nobody else could ever sell it. So I thought. I would utilize the system or process that I had, and what we call auditing the fellow, so I get all the charge off of this fella,
so that he could be able to sell this fuel and other things. And I worked at him. And I worked at him. I worked at him. And while I'm working at him, I'm running into all these other stories about he's cheated this guy and cheated that guy. And this man's got a million in it.
And that one's got $2 million in it. This one's got $15 million. I says, oh, wait a minute. Wait a minute now. And the associate said, well, I'm the associate of mine in Chicago said, are you hooked up with that Guido French? I says, yes.
And they said, you can't. You can't write a contract with that man. There's a restraining order on him. You run a contract with that man, and you can go to jail, too. I says, where'd you get that from? He says, look, my brother-in-law is a judge, Judge Bauer, in Wheaton, Illinois. And they had a trial there.
And this man has this restraining order. My brother-in-law, the judge, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, and I says, name, please, Judge Bauer, the court. OK, we'll follow it up. I get Guido on the phone after I leave there. I says, Guido, what about this story in Wheaton? Look, John, are you going to sell my fuel, or are you going to listen to all those tales about me?
I says, well, I got to follow it up. If there's a restraining order on you, I want to know about it. And so he says, come on over. So I go over to his apartment. I go in there. Right away, he goes to the telephone. Guess what? He calls Judge Bauer.
He's got his number. He gets him on the phone. And I'm standing there like a dummy. You know, how do I handle this? And I says, look, Your Honor, I didn't call you. This was Guido's idea. I didn't come here to call you. He says, look, what is it you want to know?
Come and see me in my chambers tomorrow. I says, very good. I go to Wheaton tomorrow. I thought, this is real nice of the guy. I go to Wheaton the next day. I get in to go into Wheaton. And here's the jury trial going. The judge stops the jury trial, just leaves it hanging.
There, and he gives me an hour in his chambers. His feet are up in the desk. And he says, now, what do you want to know about Guido French? I says, tell me, quite frankly, does he make fuel out of water? Has he got something? He says, not only got that, mister, but he's got a lot of other things, too. I've seen him. I says, OK, do you think I could sell this thing?
He wants me to sell it, you know. That's why I'm checking him out. He says, look, I don't know whether you can do it or not, mister. But he says, the world sure needs what he's got to offer. But he's good luck. He says, incidentally, he says, who told you this bit about this restraining order? And I said, I knew what was going on.
This was the brother-in-law and everything. So I said, some fellow by the name of, let me see, he was a stockbroker. And he named him. I said, that's the guy. He's that son of a . He's my brother-in-law. He knows damn well that didn't happen. I said, well, tell me, how did it happen?
He says, well, it was this way. He was on trial. Yes, sir. The coal interests were investing $15, $20 million with him. They had about, I think, $100,000 riding on them at the time. And they were suing him to produce, to present. And he says, you know what happened? He says, we're sitting in there, and the trial's going on pretty good.
And Guido Franch says, is that water, judge? And reaches over there and judges, yes. He says, I don't believe it. Takes the water and, I don't believe that's water, he says. He puts it down. The judge takes a drink. It certainly is water. And he puts it down.
This is going on in the trials. He's on the stand. And he's certain it's water. And Guido reaches into his pocket and dumps into the jug, dumps into some of his crystals. And the trial's swinging along, swinging along. And then all of a sudden, Guido lights a match and drops it. And . And this thing goes up.
And the judge says, the judge says, look, he says, that guy does what he says he can do. And he says, I had to throw it out of court. He says, he does it. And he says, that's what they were suing him for, that he couldn't produce. He did produce. He says, and man, that guy's got somebodies. I don't know if you'll ever get it loose from him. But anyhow, then the Ford involvement.
So I finally, I get to Dearborn. And I finally get to Dearborn myself. I'm the new sucker now. And boy, I was rolling it hard. I get over to Dearborn. Or before I get to Dearborn, there was a guy that was bringing the introduction together, Danny Colitis, who was a serviceman of the Ford Motor Company. And he's also a great race driver.
And Danny Colitis and a few people in Chicago in this network all knew Guido French. And they said, look, we heard that you were going to represent. Look. We all have an interest in this thing. And we certainly hope you can sell it. I said, I'm not sure I can. But I'm sure going to put a hell of a try on it. Anyhow, he says, look, and you're all set to meet French.
Now, not French. French is Austrian for French. But I can't remember his first name. But Mr. French of the Ford Motor Company was first in command. He was the man that bought the Philco division for Ford. And he was first in command of the Ford Motor Company. And I was to meet him. This is my contact.
And Danny Colitis had set it up. So Danny Colitis is racing. And this was in August. It was June or July we set this up. August we were to meet. And he's racing. Every day he's out on a racing circuit. And I had a feeling somebody's going to die.
And I says, good God, if Danny kicks the body right now, this deal is blown. And I've got all my time invested in it. I've got to at least get to Ford, you know. So. Heh. I call up Danny. I says, Danny, we'll just stay out of that damn race car of yours until this deal is over. I don't care what you do with yourself afterwards, but wait till the deal's over.
Danny says, no, don't worry about it. The very next weekend on the paper, there this cat, this cat is, is, is, is, had a fight on the track. And somebody is beating him over the head with a, with a beer bottle. Right on the track. It was in the news. So anyhow, I said, there he goes. This is the guy who's going to get killed. But a funny thing happened.
Just three days before my meeting with French, French dies of a heart attack playing golf with Ford. It didn't hit the newspapers. Completely, kept completely silent and quiet. Anyhow, I thought, there goes the deal. But I had a feeling the deal isn't over. It's still in. I called Danny, and I said, Danny, I thought you were the one that's going to die. I says, but the French died.
I says, but the meeting's still on, isn't it? Danny says, yeah, it is. You're meeting this second. I said, what do you mean? I said, it's not a big deal. I said, well, you know, I want the fuel. I said, well, what do you mean? What do you mean?
He said, well, I said, I said, I said, you know, I'm trying to deal with this. I said, well, I'm trying to deal with this. I said, well, let's do it. I said, wait a minute. I said, well, let's deal with the fuel one thing at a time. This guy had more goodies that were given by people from extraterrestrial people originally. Anyhow, I get over to Detroit, and then I hear the stories. You never heard such a wild tale in your life.
Guido Franch, up to mud, up to here, wandering around waiting for him to see the spaceship. This is in Chicago and also in Kansas City. And then he spent 50 million bucks to follow this guy to find out where he was and where he was meeting. Just to find, he wanted to find out where they were keeping the spaceship because the ship was brought in by Guido Franch that brought the ship over Dearborn.
And Ford saw it. Ford called him in the place. He opened up the safe and the money's rolling out. And this comes from now the second in command of the Ford Motor Company is telling this story. And he opens up the safe and the money's pouring out and he says, Guido, take what you need. I want that fuel.
And Guido says, I can't. And the next thing he gets drunk and he disappeared. That's Guido Franch. Just drunk and disappeared. This guy's had this thing sold so damn many times and he just can't close the deal. Some people say that he can't close it because the crews that are involved in this thing
will not let him. I say this, if he sells the thing, he'll die overnight because this is his whole life. It's wrapped up in that fuel and the spaceship and all these little things. If he sells it and it's gone, he'll go, he'll go out. He's still around.
Anyhow, this is a sideline to a true UFO story. We still don't know the authenticity of the actual space contacts that were made
[01:12:29] Development of the main themes
prior to this. But as I said earlier to you, this is my 25 years in flying saucers and some of the stuff that we've run into and what we've had to handle and the various people that have been, had their little games in this thing. Now, I had a request earlier to tell a little bit about,
do we have the time? I request to say something about the French incident. The Dr. Michel, I believe, or Dr. Nihans, is that what you want me to talk about? The Switzerland. Yeah, the Switzerland. The cellular therapy. Yeah.
Okay. Were you people here, have you heard Larry Foreman discussing the cellular injection you have? No, you haven't? All right. Larry Foreman, Larry Foreman, which is one of the latest contacts, UFO contacts, it isn't recent or current,
but it's the latest that's been coming exposed. Has become, shall we say, he's been granted some very important information to be spread out. It's in his book. Read his book there, Passport to Eternity, and you'll get the basics on this thing. But it so happened that I met him here,
his first lecture, I think it was right here, and then later at Mrs. Yates' home, and I became rather close to Larry as I have everyone in the other ufologists. And they've all needed help, and it seemed like Larry needed some help too. But he turned around and asked me for the help. He says, my friends tell me you're going to Europe.
I says, that's true. And right away, zing, zing, zing, you know, my friends tell me you're going to Europe. He says, would you do me a favor, do us a favor? I says, what is that? He says, would you take my book to Professor Niehans in Switzerland? And I said, I knew a little bit about Niehans,
and his cellular injections with serums that he's been going through through the years. I knew a little bit about it, very little. But I says, what is there in your book that Dr. Niehans would be interested in? He says, read the book. I says, touche. So I read the book.
And in the book, I saw the importance of such a get-together. Dr. Niehans has been injecting animal serums made from animal organs. And he's been creating great longevity in people and in animals. And curing lots of pretty bad problems. Grows new organs.
He doesn't bother with transplanting one. He grows a new organ. And with these injections, he seems to be very successful. So it seemed that Larry's process that was told him, in which they inject, they inject,
they inject, they inject, they inject, they inject new growth brain cells into the old and the decrepit. And we, within the nine-month gestation period, man can go right back to the 20-year-old band with this injection.
So in the book, the information is there. So I won't go into great detail on that. But I took the book to Switzerland for Dr. Niehans to see. And he says, he says, we have done this before. It doesn't work.
I said, how did you do it? We took brain cells and we injected them into the spine. I says, doctor, I'm no doctor. But I says, you must read the book and do it the way the book says to do it. I says, that is wrong. You must do it in the brain.
Right in both sides of the brain. Right close. And he says, but, but, we can't tamper with that. He says, where would we get these new brain cells that you speak of there? I said, I was thinking for a moment,
yeah, he's right. What mother is going to, to allow her, you know, the fetus to be tampered with to get new growth brain cells, which are needed in this particular case. And I says, you have a point there.
And suddenly it just came to mind. I said, my God, we've got an abortion mill that nobody can stop the world over. I says, you've got a greater supply than you've got demand. So immediately Dr. Niehans,
or Niehans wasn't there. Niehans had died when I was in London. So consequently, Dr. Michelle, who was running the place, gave me a four hour audience on this thing.
And there's quite a possibility, very good possibility, that the, the, the Niehans Clinic, which is known as La Prairie Institute in Montreux in Switzerland, will be the first ones to be doing this
or performing this type operation. And if so, many of us are going to get a little older and a little grayer and get over there and get down to, you know, 20-year-old band. That'd be great fun anyhow.
Is that what you wanted to know about that particular part of the story? Yeah, I just wanted to... There, I ran into lots of doctors, lots of doctors and lots of, of experimenters in Portugal, in Spain, in Morocco, in Egypt,
and in Germany and France. They're all working, also in Vienna, and they're all working with either Dr. Niehans or somebody else's that they've been successful with. And when I was speaking
with these people, I won't go into detail on it because time is getting short now. When I was speaking with various numbers of these people, they were really excited about Larry's book
and they've all written for a copy of it. In fact, Larry's book has been ordered by the Academy of Sciences in Russia have sent over a whole team of men. They took a whole case
of books back with them. And the Chinese have been over. And I think they're all over. And I think they're all over. And I think they're all over. And I think they're all over. And I think they're all over. And I think they're all over.
And I think they're all over. And I think President Sajardo has come over and picked up a case of books too for all of his cabinet. Because whether they're doing it or not now with brain cells, it's a difficult type operation.
But it seems difficult for us because we're not allowed even to experiment with that. In Mexico and Canada is the closest that you can even experiment with that. And I think probably
in the near future you'll be hearing some things coming out of Mexico or out of Switzerland on this rejuvenation. There is, there is one bit of that and I don't dare talk about it.
I'd rather let Larry talk about it. An experiment that went on in Mexico that is quite humorous and it was rather successful using the animal as the subject. I leave that up to Larry to talk about. Okay?
Yes? Yeah, now. The Reinhold Schmidt story. Jawohl. We will speak of Reinhold. Reinhold, Schmidt, I call him Schmitty,
is probably one of my closest friends in the UFO field. You know, all of us have likes and dislikes in people. I get along with almost everybody but there are certain people I like better than other people
and Reinhold is one of those. There's just an affinity with Reinhold. He's a great guy. Anyhow, Reinhold Schmidt and I ran into each other rather uniquely. It started back in 1957,
the fall of 57, right as Sputnik 2 was being launched, rather uniquely, as Sputnik 2 was being launched by the Russians, Reinhold Schmidt was being incarcerated after having met some people from the planet Saturn
aboard a large spaceship in Kearney, Nebraska. And I was on my way west with Bill Lear's right-hand man, Bill Lear's right-hand man, and engineer. You all know Bill Lear, William Lear.
Okay, well, Bill, his engineer, and I were traveling west and coming through from Chicago and we were in Phoenix at the time this happened. And my friend says,
this fellow here needs help. Do you want to go up to Fort Kearney? And I says, no. I says, I'll see that guy later. I ran into him all sooner or later anyhow. I'll see him later. And I said,
well, that was going on up there in Kearney. There were a lot of other things happening. Cars were being stalled in Leveland, Texas. And cars were being stalled
all over and big cigar-shaped craft were landing all over the place. And it was a rather exciting period and I wasn't there. I had a call from Chicago in which they said,
where the hell are you? Every radio station, every TV station, every newspaper is after you right now. And where are you? You're not here. I says,
it's good that way. When you're there all the time, when they want you, you know, who cares? But when you're not there, you're scarce. So,
they'll really, you know, they can sit up and look. Anyhow, Reinhold Schmidt's story was one that, well, he was locked up in a nut house
and declared to be crazy. And so I thought, maybe he was. I didn't know. I hadn't investigated it. And it was in the spring of that next year,
58, some months later, when I was there, I was in Chicago and Major Aho, the Major, do you know the Major? Do you people know the Major?
Okay. Major Aho called me and he says, would I help him put on this series of lectures at the Palmer House? And I said, no, I'm very busy.
I'm doing Kansas City. If there's anything I can do for you right now, fine, but I won't be there available to help you as such. So the Major says, do you know this grain buyer
that was locked up in Fort Kearney? As I read about him, I said, he's in the Nuthouse yet, isn't he? He said, no, he's not.
He said, I've been in touch with him. In fact, I'm meeting him next week in Davenport, Iowa. And I said, boy, this is later.
I'm going to meet him. So I said, okay, I'll route myself through Kansas City. Can I see this fellow? He said, certainly.
He says, Saturday, we can meet him in Davenport. So I'm sitting down and I meet Smitty in Davenport. Well,
it's a long story, but we'll chop it right down short. As we're all through and I'm walking out the door and he says, well,
we see you in Kearney on the 5th, 5th of March, 58. And I said, no, you won't see me there on the 5th.
I'm in Kansas City on the 4th at about 8 o'clock in the evening. I got my last lecture. You won't see me there on the 5th. He didn't even hear me.
He said, well, we'll see you there on the 5th. And as I got in the car to drive away, I thought, gee,
maybe I will be there on the 5th. So I go down to Kansas City, put on my series of lectures and I had a burning desire to get a camera.
I always had a still camera on me but this time I didn't have it with me and I had a burning desire to get a movie camera.
I didn't. So I'm looking around and I figured if I'm successful here in Kansas City and my lectures all go pretty good, I'll go down
to the hawk shop someplace and pick up a good 16mm camera. I wanted a good one. Crazy, I could have picked up an 8mm
for what I missed. Man, anything would have been good then for what I missed that time. Anyhow, it was getting
kind of late and I finished my last lecture. I couldn't even get to the hawk shop before they closed and my last lecture was around 7,
7.30 at Service to Mankind Club in Kansas City. I completed this lecture and as I was going out I said, well,
I guess I'll go to Kearney. And I got in the car and I started to drive west and then north. A hell of a blizzard came up. Guys were saying, where are you going?
I said, I'm going to Kearney, Fort Kearney. You can't even get out of here. My God, there's a hell of a blizzard blowing through here. Ten inches of wet snow.
I said, okay, fellas, you hear me? If you want me in Kearney, you damn well get me there. And by God, they did. I'm rolling through
snow and ice and you never saw anything like it. I'm just sitting and coasting down the highway. I said, take care of it, boys, because I'm not.
And they got me all the way to Kearney and they were playing games with me. They let me run right through the damn town. I went, right through the town,
skidding on ice. It was frozen up there. At around five o'clock in the morning, I skidded right through the town. Not a soul on the highways but me and my coat,
the coat, they were right above me and they're popping through on the radio all the way through into Kearney. And then as we go through the town,
you can almost hear them laughing like we're playing some games with this guy. And they let me go, and I couldn't stop. The damn Kearney kept sliding on the ice and sliding
and sliding and sliding. I said, okay, fellas, there's the town, you know. Where do we go? When I got my traction
and started to drive back, it was almost impossible to drive on. I wound up then and nosed into a snowbank in front of the hotel and I went in and I woke Smitty up.
And the very next day, we started to investigate his story and we interrogated the supervisor of the mental hospital and the supervisor of the mental hospital
at Hastings and he admitted finally that he should never have been sent there. And then we covered the chief of police and all of these people but now comes the real bit
which is the UFO side of the story. It was that night we were lecturing at 8 o'clock in town and Smitty was going to tell the townspeople exactly what happened to him
and what the townspeople had done to him, locking him up in the nuthouse some months before, November 5th, 1957. Here it was 58, spring of 58.
So the whole town were anxious to hear what really happened in his story. And I'm in the hotel room sort of crossed like that. They had a western exposure and I had a southern
and it was interconnected there and Major Aho and Smitty were in that room and I was in my room and I was editing my slides. I used to always have a slide presentation in my lectures
and to back up Smitty I'd have all these slides and news clips and things and then he'd have his lecture and Major Aho would have his segment. That's the way we had arranged it. So we were headlined
to go to this lecture and it was 6.30 in the evening about 6.25 or so and I'm going through these slides and the phone rings and it's the newspaper reporter, AP reporter, has been with us all day
and the newspaper reporter says, Otto, look up in the western sky there and tell me what star that is. I says, 6.30, a star, western sky, you've got rocks in your head, there's no star out there at that time that I know of.
He says, well go look at it. So we're out there and about 45 degrees up there's a big translucent white thing over the town of Kearney and I don't know what it is. I have one type of the phone and I don't know what it is.
He says, well can't you tell me? He wanted me to say it's a saucer. I says, I don't know what it is. It's just a translucent something could be a high altitude cosmic ray research balloon and the sun's hitting it and the sun was just going down
and at 6.30 the sun just dropped beneath the horizon but it's all bright and clear. But not a thing in the sky. So I go back to my slides. Five minutes later, 6.35, I walk over into the other room.
Smitty's laying on the bed, resting, looking electric at 8 and he's over on the bed and Major Aho's sitting over always making notes. This guy's a nut for writing. He's always writing notes,
notes, notes, notes. I don't believe he can read them after he's through but he's always writing. Anyhow, Major Aho is over there by the window making his notes. I walk up to him. I walk into the room
and I look out of the window and it's still there. Same place. I say, hey fellas. I says, I think Smitty's friends are up there. Take a look. Smitty's on the bed
and he looks through this big old-fashioned windows that they've got in Fort Kearney Hotel. Smitty looks over like that. He sees it. He jumps up in excitement. He says, I knew they'd be here.
He says, I knew they'd be here. And Major Aho flips his lip and he's dancing a Finnish jig. He's a Finn, you know, and he's dancing a Finnish jig around on the floor. He says, all excited.
I says, hey, calm down, will you fellas? Anybody see you two nuts going off like this and they'd never believe you. He says, calm down. I says, we don't know what that is.
And I'm acting like some, you know, real negative character, see. And along comes this object, like a drunken duck across the barnyard. You know, you ever see a duck
that gets a lot of corn mash whiskey? You ever see it? They just wander all over. They flop around like crazy. And this is the way this thing works. This thing comes
oscillating in like that. And then it stopped right over about, I'd say, maybe 700 or 800 feet above the town. And there's the dome on it. It's a cold black saucer
about 75 foot in diameter. And I'm, and I'm thinking, my God, no camera. No camera. And everything's closed, you know, and there it is.
And there he's hovering right above us and then suddenly a light came on. Right out of the base of it, a light came on. You may have seen some reports
where the light seems to come in a funnel shape, fans out, like that, and flares out. This light flared out and covered the whole town.
It was an orange light. This orange light was getting hotter and hotter and hotter and our faces were red and it was glowing right through the walls.
It didn't have to come through the window. It was coming through the walls. Real science fiction story, you know. Right through the walls there's orange light.
It's just the glow and you can feel it's getting hotter. And then this light, after we got a touch of light, timed right to the second. Every second
was documented by us in the room. I go to the telephone and I call the press and I say, tell them what to look for and I call the police station. I even call the guy
in Hastings. I say, get a look at what's happening over Kearney. And he says, yeah, it is kind of interesting, isn't it?
That's all even they would say. And this light then went out and on came a red light. Remember now, the first was orange and on comes a red light
and the red light did the same thing as the other. It got hotter and hotter and hotter. And I says, make a note here
with all of that notebook you're running there, Major. I says, I think this is a warning. I think they're trying to say orange is caution to them
and red is danger. Look out. And if anybody starts to attack Smitty, I think they're going to do something this time. He makes a note of this thing
and this went on for about ten more minutes and then off went the light. And just as the light went out, we look up and that other object isn't in the sky anymore.
And then this thing just goes and disappeared. You didn't see it go away. It just disappeared right before our eyes. And everybody I'd called the desk
and everybody from the hotel had just spewed into the street. You could see them all up there looking up at this beautiful sight.
So I'd say about two minutes, maybe at the most, two minutes went by. And then along comes this craft with a rapid blinking nose light.
And I said, oh, it's nothing but a, and I was going to say jet because that's just what I thought it was. It was only flying about 150 miles an hour and it came right
at the same angle that the saucer came in and where the saucer would have been, he's coming across like that, across our line of vision and I'm just bewildered.
There's no wings on it. There's no, my God, it's a cigar-shaped craft. And then there it was, not glowing or anything, it was cold black too. And Smitty started to scream.
He says, that's the same ship I was on. That's it and they're here. That night at the lecture, there was a man at the lecture
and he says, how'd you get here? And the fellow says, well, I was sitting in the hotel and these two farmers were talking and they said,
you going to the lecture? And he says, hell no, I ain't going to them. Listen to those damn nuts, he says. He says, but, but,
you know, remember what we saw over the city today? He says, oh, those guys are putting on a show. He says, they did it.
We did it, say. And then he says, the other farmer says to him, he says, yeah, but how'd you get them up to Durn High? That's the way
the story went. I think, I think they have some coffee for you out there. Can I call a break with you folks? No?
Oh, you blew the, I blew the coffee, huh? I blew it. I knew it. Okay. Okay, how much more time
do I have? No, I don't want to stop now. I'm just getting started. No, Mr. Goldbeck. I mean, for a break.
For a break. No coffee, huh? Yeah, so they can get up. They can get up and relax. Okay, all right.
Do you want a little break? A little relaxation? Just walk around, get a drink of water or something? Okay. We'll have the drawing right after you come back.
About five minutes, right? Just stand up and walk around and relax a little. Not yet. Not yet. Not now.
Okay? The, I was asked, was I going to mention the Condon Committee and their reports and also the
did I know about the recent sightings and reports coming in on radio from from the Midwest, from Kansas and Arkansas and Missouri?
Yes, I know about those. I don't know them in great detail. I can only mention that I too have heard about them. And there are parallels
to the Missouri affair that's taking place right now. In, the big one was in Wanakee in Wanakee, they call it
in New Jersey. The Wanakee Dam. We call it Wanakee. It's a place in Wisconsin. There's a Wanakee, Wisconsin. But they call it
Wanakee out there. And, it's a dam in which the large water supply there and saucers have been seen a great many times over this reservoir
as they have over many reservoirs. The reason for the sightings over the reservoirs have never been deduced by any of us. The real reason
why they're over a reservoir per se. But, recently, these, these craft have been seen in the
entering the reservoir. Actually going into the reservoir and submarining into the water. They may be just taking on water for all we know
because, look at her smiling back there. She's trying to tell me they're taking on water. They probably are. But, they can get their water supplies
from so many different places. They don't have to get them from a local reservoir and draw a lot of attention. There must be something up around those reservoirs too that they're drawing
that attention there. But we don't know precisely. At least I don't. Maybe there is somebody that knows, but I don't. Now,
what I'd like to say is this. Something, just a brief on the Condon committee and I didn't even bother
reading the damnable report because it was so stupidly done. It was done with a specific purpose in mind. I think we all
can agree. The Air Force wanted off the hook and the Air Force apparently had decided that if they could get a university
to tackle this, and run their research on the subject, then if they came up with a negative report which they knew
they would do, they would then be off the hook because they were being pressured tremendously. Now, I never did
become involved with so-called authorities in that sense. I never knocked them because there's a specifically
good reason why people do things the way they do them. Governments notwithstanding. They have their reasons for doing it. And I could give you
I think the book by UFOs Yes UFOs Yes is the name of the title by what's his name
Conway and somebody else who had been on this committee I think answered that question very, very well.
In a research of this type you can't know one group or no one man or no one type of an individual can have all
of the answers. And if somebody does come along that seems to have all of the answers I would beware of him or them
for the simple reason that nobody has all the answers to this thing and apparently the extraterrestrial intelligences haven't intended
it that way that one man would have all of the answers. It seems like a whole group of people have a little here
a little there a little there. And, for each and every different group of people there seems to be a contact
that will satisfy each and every individual interest. And when you get a research a technical research like the Condon Committee or like the Air Force
in themselves these people only want to be able to treat it as a scientific fact and how do you treat a scientific fact
or how do you deal with something scientific to make it factual? They have to be able to reduce it to a practice.
How can you reduce the sighting and the meeting of an extraterrestrial intelligence to a practice?
So that type of research can only be good for a man who is developing a piece of equipment or some technical data. Then he can reduce
it to a practice. But when you're dealing with such a phenomenal thing as flying saucers spaceships people from other planets and I put it
in that frame because this I am well assured they are. I won't go into any details on that but my own personal experiences
in the field very well indicate this to me. And I have right to say so because I believe that and I know it. Now the others
that don't know it I might overwhelm them by saying this but we have had so many people in our country have just taken the idea of
more sightings more sightings and then they take photographs of photographs of a cameraman taking photographs and more photographs and photographs
and more deductions and more deductions and they're just spinning their wheels. Whereas somebody out here that has a meeting with these intelligence
they don't have to believe him all they have to do is listen to him and understand him. They don't have to buy it but the damn fools they decide that
they're not even going to listen to him. They want to prove that UFOs are real that they exist. And yet there's what is it five billion people
on this planet have been deduced to have seen UFOs and they don't have to see read any technical report to tell them whether it is real
or not. I think Dan Fry said something though that was pretty interesting he said to me one time he says well John he said what are we
worried about he said when the world was found to be round he says is there any technical body at all that come out and apologized for having called it flat
and said it is now deduced to be round? Not a soul there isn't a there isn't a reference in history where anybody actually
some official group came out and made that statement so consequently this thing is going to have to evolve to where it becomes a reality
of everybody and no official body is ever going to come up from my estimation anyhow and say this is thus and thus and so and so
they're not going to say it they're going to stay behind and they have very good reason for feeling this way let us justify their opinion just for a moment anybody's opinion
if they're in this audience justify their opinion and that is this what a man doesn't know you cannot tell him your experience and expect him to know it as you do it
you know it you can tell it and if he's been trained to listen and to understand what is being said then he's got half the battle won he doesn't have to believe it
but he already understands what you've experienced then when he experiences it it means something more to him but our officials as such they know the history of man on this planet
for when a higher society ever joined with a lesser society the lesser society really got their pants beat off if you want to know if you want to read and see how it's happened
see the conquest of the Americas read the conquest of Mexico and Peru and see what the Spanish did when they came in to a very high civilization but they were lesser
to the extent of what the Spanish were at that time and see how they suffered from it and many of our leaders fear this is what will happen to us if we have an extraterrestrial intelligence
making an intelligent contact with man on a whole they're afraid we will be squashed down to a nothingness that's what they fear and that's why
they don't reveal or let things be known they treat it with humor and they try to make people believe that it's they know it isn't but they try to make people
believe that these are psychotics that are talking I've been called a psychoramic nut too because I'm called a contactee in the field and just a brief little story
how each one of us have avoided others that are too far out I have avoided some that are too far out people have avoided me because I'm too far out for them
and Kehoe is a very good example I know him very well I saved his organization twice twice I kept his organization together from behind the scenes
I'll say it now and I brag about it I gave him my complete mailing list as is here and he sold almost every one of them I saved his organization
whether he'd admit it today or not I don't give a damn I don't give a damn I gave it to him I wanted his organization to continue to function and I helped him
as I would help anybody else anyhow the point is this Kehoe had a meeting with me in Washington very early in this thing he had a meeting
with me in Washington and he didn't keep it I met Frank Edwards at the same time because he left it up to Frank Edwards to meet this kook and he ran out
and I saw him getting in the cab rushing that away and I said well there goes my man oh well I walk in the hotel and Edwards walked up to me
he said your auto is right he said I'm sorry Major Kehoe couldn't be here today and he told me to take care of it for him
I said don't give me that line of bullshit I said he just went out of here and rushed out in a taxi cab oh you saw him
yes I saw him now why did he leave oh he can't be seen talking to you you know that's the way people are well I didn't care because later on
I met him anyhow it didn't mean anything to me but I thought at the time this is the way people are over the whole planet I don't give a damn I talk to presidents and I talk to the little guy
it doesn't mean a thing to me but there are some people I still don't want to have on my show and there are people I won't let speak when I'm on the platform
because some of them are really wild eyed and woolly tailed it'll throw the audience and some of us know how to keep our audience together because I can still tell you some woolly tails
that I've had that I wouldn't dare tell even now I won't tell them because I'll lose some people they'll say well this guy is a kook you know
from some of the experiences that I've had one basic experience though people speak of clarity going for clear some go through drugs some go through Scientology some go through the church
through Novena there are many different things that are going on on the planet today in which people are becoming aware more aware than they were watch the babies
as they're growing my god young kids are sharp as tacks much sharper than they used to be years ago I think they are
anyhow anyhow clarity is something that everybody seems to be striving for Larry brought up something that made me look
at his story in a in a in a real favorable light Larry was giving us the other side of the coin for those of you that have heard him
he has given us the other side of the coin we haven't heard it many of the people argued with him say oh wait a minute he's he's a tool of the devil
or he's you know he's this or he's that or the other and they even say that they put words into his mouth
and I have said several times to people listen to the man you don't have to believe what he says all you have to do is listen and understand and if you didn't do this
you're making a great headway and that's all I think they want him to do is to get out there to tell you people so that you can understand what he says
that's all you don't have to buy it anyhow in the case of Larry he speaks of Project Milana in which this screen of confusion
over our minds is being removed is being lessened and he speaks the planet having been a prison planet
and that we are going to be literally freed from this prison structure and he speaks of evacuating the planet
now what comes to mind and it's only me now speaking my own opinion what comes to mind is
many will be called and few will be chosen the biblical inference I think that the people have been called already and I think
they already have them picked out that's my opinion some of the people don't even know yet that they are already picked out I don't believe
all of the people are going to leave this planet that's my opinion I don't believe all are going to some won't leave some don't want
to they think it's great here but Larry says they're bringing a planet in and they're going to anchor it out here at about
500,000 miles and it's already been seen astronomers are pretty well shook up they claim there's a planet on a collision course
with earth right now and they don't know what's going to happen Larry says that is the planet this planet isn't even seen as a planet
right now but visualize if you will speculate just for a moment do you realize what the people on this planet
even in this room there are people that are going to be bowing down and kissing the earth and say oh dear lord please protect me the end of the world
is coming when they see a planet 500,000 miles out there tremendous in size it's going to look same size as earth but it'll look larger why?
because it has this this field around it this reflective field around it I'll tell you something else that comes from Larry's latest bit of
data in that field and that is this this earth was covered with a field like that only it was ice crystals people the astronauts up there
saw these little specks on the side of their portholes and they couldn't tell what they were they're ice crystals the remains of the old
[01:48:04] Questions and closing discussion
ice crystal body that we had made a hot house out of this planet where our weather was more thoroughly controlled we didn't have storms
we didn't have all of these problems when the earth's own heat is all it needs can be its own little hot house that planet
that is coming in that we're going to move on to is like that that way they don't have to rely on any sun from any system
that's why they can move it anywhere in the system they want when we do evacuate the planet for those of us that do we are going to have
complete access to the entire universe I believe that the people on this planet that stay here say no I don't want to go in fear
many of them will be in fear many will also say I like it here they won't want to see anything different or know anything different when that happens we're going to have
we might be back visiting them someday see ok you asked a question earlier what was it well you it's the first question
and I read his book and I felt that when he was talking and reading his book that there was certainly a ring of truth in it but somehow I became
inwardly suspicious of the man in that I thought maybe he's deceptively simple and I wondered if
anyone had checked up on his background that he was that he had actually had the kind of job he said he did and that I thought well he may be saying
that this planet's coming in and it may be coming in to take us off as slaves or something ok so you're a slave already so why not try
another form of slavery I'm not a slave oh no no alright ok alright try another variety
of slavery anyhow first to answer your question I haven't checked his background to the extent of checking
his employment record and things of that nature all I know is that Larry is a simple man but all of the contactees have been overly simple they've picked
that type of an individual purposely they ought to pick me then oh I don't know you don't look that simple your question please have they picked any women not to my knowledge
not to my knowledge they've they have there have been communications made with them but I I haven't to my knowledge
throughout the whole UFO field it seems to have been a man's world isn't that terrible your question sir I said how did how did
people get on the live movement the the live movement yeah your question you had it up earlier
what happened to Mr. Guido French Guido French what became of him really oh he's still there in Chicago
still peddling his wares he gets five hundred to a thousand or two thousand dollars every now and then why doesn't he I can't give you that answer
I don't know I don't know we could sit down and I can give you several different hypotheses on the thing but I can't give you the answer to the thing
nobody else can no he can't well he's not doing nothing about it he's sure creating a great effect all over the Midwest
my God well all over the planet there are people who come in and man they really bugged him to death so he's creating
a terrific effect now of course I know what you mean he's not putting it to use but he sure is creating a hell of an effect he's got people
chasing him all over spies following around they even knock him over the head and try to get his crystals and they don't work in fact I'll tell you
a funny part of the story he says to me he's okay John now you're all ready and I said I sure as hell am I'm going to I'm going to Dearborn
and we're going to sell this thing everything's in order now you're ready to give him the formula when I get the contract signed this is
I wrote the contract and everything was in order and he says oh yes I said give me some
of that fuel right now well just a minute he goes out and comes back and a bottle of these crystals
I looked at I believed it because we were really working together on the project so I stick the crystals in my pocket that's all
and I get up there and I'm telling my friend about it on the east side of Chicago that night and pull out these crystals
put them in some water like he had done they were the same crystals for all intents and purposes they were the same
crystals started saucer you know I'm holding the match over the damn thing
and I said that dirty buggery fouled me up too in fact if I'd gone out with those
crystals they would have hung me because they do not burn and then I called him up I said
you dirty son of a gun you did it to me too I said that's what you do to Ford that's what
you did to Rockefeller you did to everybody I said that's what you did to him he said well I couldn't give you those
crystals you know after all you're too smart you turn around and find out the formula
and blah blah blah I said stick it I don't even want it forget it oh come on come on
I'll show you I'll show you and then he started to give me the gasoline he'd make the gasoline right there
for me but he would never give me the crystals and everybody used to go
through the same route if you were to meet my friend from Continental and you hear him talk
about it and oh gee he's gone through the same thing he's used the gas
many times he's even mixed it himself but do you think he could save a few of
those crystals in his pocket oh no if you've got them in your hand there and they're
not going in the pail get a French to come along and hit your hand and you'll spill them
he makes darn sure he's a master showman master showman he's got everybody on edge
all the time more questions please yes make it short I was wondering
you know that planet that's supposed to come is supposed to be the same size of Earth
and he doesn't believe in reincarnation so he doesn't believe in so he thinks every time a soul
has been born they're a new person and everybody's going to be resurrected out of the grave
now you can see how many souls there would be getting on that planet so it just didn't make
sense to me all right so it doesn't make sense to you first of all one that you
said he doesn't believe in reincarnation that's one point then you said all these souls
my God there's more room for billions more than what we've already got throughout the universe
if that be true I'm not well just one moment now I'm answering your question with a little
statement if I may the point is this Larry has not been told everything and he's an
overly simple man he hasn't been told everything and this is not to say that reincarnation
is real or unreal I only say that he hasn't been told everything and I do believe that
he's going to find out that there may be some interlink there you call it reincarnation
call it whole track call it what you will I had a discussion with him here a
few weeks ago in which I said look Larry this is private I never told you this before because I've
been listening to you but let me tell you I have my own realities of several past lives I
have lived I know them I have that reality however I'm willing to buy your
point so I can see what the whole story is because I don't know everything even if I have
lived before I don't know everything and I can learn something from what he says I advise you and everybody
here to do the same you may have an opinion and you might have an argument with it you can
argue it's still all right but make damn sure you understand everything he says thoroughly then if you're
ready to argue go ahead but you're going to find out some new things from what he's saying he
doesn't have all the answers yet remember that but if you listen to him long enough you'll hear this reincarnation
threaded through it but he is putting other words on it as they told him okay
another question please the men in black a totally phony story from my viewpoint
phony as a wooden nickel I knew the people involved they used to have witches and hobgoblins hanging all over
the house and that's what they think and that's what they've got men in black
next question please yours my personal idea well I had several of them
and I the funny part of it is if I was to tell you all those several different
viewpoints it'd take too long right now however I would I would say that
I would say very briefly many of us in the entire UFO field came to
one general consideration consideration only and that was that we are some sort of
an eight ball planet and we may have been put here Larry's story
indicates this and very clear early that this was a prison planet for some
reason or the other we are put here now this might be a stage just a
grade school alright so we're in third or fourth grade or seventh grade or fifteenth
grade this may be the case and they in coming around
the time now apparently is right we're coming of age or we have served our sentences
Larry says I say we're coming of age but you do feel that they are superior
intelligence yes but I also feel they're related to us there's a very very
close relationship and that's why I can't say that personally can't say
that man is going to be so they're not going to be so far ahead of man
sure they are at this present time if as Larry says we have this veil
over our minds remove that veil and we could be right on their level
we could know all of those things that we think are so mysterious
to us right now we would know them if the veil was removed I've had
a form of clarity in that would you like to hear the story it'll be
very brief I was on the air bitching mind you to my friends upstairs
and I was really angry because I've been called to the west coast to expose
a fraud and then as soon as I get back to Chicago I get an airline
ticket in the mail and they're begging me to rush to New York to expose
another fraud and I said well if this is what you guys want
me to expose frauds I'll do it but I'll be damned if I like
it this isn't my job I'm damn sure it isn't my job I think
I'm getting into a trap here somewhere but I'll go ahead and do it
on the airplane going east I was on the United out of Chicago
snowing like hell when I left Chicago when I came back I couldn't
even find my car it was buried in snow but I'm on the way to
New York to allegedly expose another fraud and this
group paying the expenses to come out there
and with your expertise in this matter John you
will handle it we know you can and
I said well here goes Mr. Expert expert
of what you know so I'm flying through
and I have a hell of an urge to
read and I read everything on the airplane I'm still
looking in the pocket of my head I dig
down in there's a little book science of
mind or something set the apple cart the
way things are going how you can mess
up your own life and your own opinions
and everything by preconceived opinions we've heard one
just a few moments ago and you'll hear
my preconceived opinions too we all have them
and so I said hey this is for
me this is what I need when I
go into New York this is the way
I'm going to do this I'm not going
to expose this guy even if I find
him to be phony I'm going to go
right down the straight and narrow and I
did and guess what happened had a beautiful
communication from the visitors direct and I was
on the air but I was bitching to
them at the time and I said I
was on John Neville show and friends of
mine were on the panel there executives from
New York and Jessup who wrote UFO in
the Bible we were all sitting around the
table and the panel and we were talking
and I'm bitching and I said look fellas if
you want this story really to be known
why the hell don't you cooperate a little bit
more with fellas like myself not only me
but there's a lot of others like me give
us some real tangible data to work with
because boy we're being Philadelphia lawyers we're working
with nothing literally nothing and I'm really bitching
at them and suddenly my friend says hey
he's talking to them and I'm known for
radio communications I use 50,000 watt stations to
communicate with them many times very successful ones
too and so he's hey he's talking to
them and right at that split second something
happened is a weirdy when you tell it but what an experience
just like this pow and there was a feeling of something enveloping
me right down to about here and this
is in a soundproof radio station W.R. New York
down to here and I could hear the
grass growing I could smell everything I could
center my attention I was everywhere any place
I wanted to be there I I was
there wasn't anything I didn't know clarity wow
was I clear and I said to myself
hey this is pretty interesting you know this
experience I'm going through and then they popped
through what is it you wish we are
here to serve that's all not angry but
firm as hell boy this this was so
damn clear I said well you know well
I'm sorry boys you know you that's the way
it is like the boss came in and finally said hey this is the way
it is you're doing all right keep it up
we know how we're running it but what
is Jewish we're here to serve so I
put out a request I had a special
broadcast for that and I went in on
a special broadcast for a request and I
had the request fulfilled but I won't go
into that right now okay let's call somebody
else for a question your question I wouldn't
know honey all I do know is that
right now there have been great discussions in
astronomical circles pertaining to the fact that there
is a planet on a collision course with
the earth right now that's what they say
and I don't know all the details I'm
waiting for some word now from Heineck's office
in Illinois on it but I don't know
them so I can't discuss it any more
than that I do suspect it's the one
but other than that I can't communicate any
more about it because it's Larry's data it's
not mine I don't have any full reality
on it yet well he's only one of
many because the young fellow was involved in
it and first they saw the planet Pluto being
shifted off its course a little bit by
this massive field but they didn't know what
it was but now it's beginning to take
the shape of a spherical globe of some
sort next question please they're just as human
as you or I they may be him
big him small him wide him thin but
they're humans okay they can do that that
they can do very very simply that they
can do and it is not mystical per se
it's just a knowledge of how to do
it no Larry doesn't put any times on
these things he can't in fact it'd be
very difficult for anybody to put times on
these things in fact in a communication with
his friends and I had a laugh on
it when he says they told him that
of the very many contacts on the planet
that they people that they selected to do
a job with them as such they were
highly unpredictable man on this planet is a
very unpredictable animal they don't know what he's
going to do next or what he's going
to do with it as I told you
about Truman Bethamer went to his head he
thought it was all him that was making
all this popularity that was coming to him
so they're hard to predict how they're going
to react I'm getting a feedback here on
this mic here now it's probably somebody trying
to tell me to close off here couple
more questions I can get enthused every now
and then but I used to be excited
wow I picked some awful nuts I had
them on the air go ahead you as
the contact team have you been able to
reason for lingering around it third you got
a special opinion of your own so I
think that's the plan they're related to it
however to me we have an objective answer
what do you think what is their purpose
I can't answer that I can only give you an opinion
I can't answer that you see there are a number of
first of all first of all first of all
let me clear something up here you're all so
excited about getting an answer from this man
we got to get his answer we think
we gave that answer listen now just for a
moment we have a number of different people
in this whole field first we have the
true contact team like or like Larry or
like somebody else I have been a liaison
man I've been a little different I have
been around amongst them all and I've had
just enough contact with these people to know
the real ones when I speak with the
people that have had them and not the
phonies I've had just enough to give me
that bit of data that I know where
I stand but I'm a liaison man for
all of them and I can bring it
all in but to give you the answers
that I have found out then I would
become one of them and then I've lost
my purpose so I'm not going to do
as they say become unpredictable I am highly
predictable I am still the reporter of all
the other affairs I can tell you about
all of them I can tell you about
their inside lives their outside lives I can
tell you even the theories that come from
all of them and the ideas that come
from all of them but to tell you
my own and sit here all night and
just discuss what I think and what I
know is very difficult because for each and
every one of these people that have had
these experiences therefore each and every different group
that listens to them I draw a different
type of people all together I even have
the ear and learn for the following days
detail what I was saying because they knew
I was coming up with factual data each
time and when the day comes along that
I have the precise and exact answer I
will tell you and I will be able
to answer you why they are here precisely
I don't know I would say read Larry's
book because I think Larry I think Larry
is closer than any of the others have
been in the past and yet he parallels
what some of the others have said in
the past is that okay is there another
question over here now how you got to
be in contact with him was it through
meditation or how no no not meditation because
I'm not a meditator I'm a man of action I
can't sit and meditate very long I have
done it and I made great gains with
it but I'm not a meditator particularly no
I had a sincere desire and I followed
the instructions which were told to me learn
all I can about mankind our own human
behavioral pattern and learn all I can about
them and they were very cooperative in helping
me with what I didn't know about them
wishes do come true right particularly if your
intention is right if the intention is there
anything I think is possible with all men
if your intentions are right if you just
wish to have a million dollars but you
have no outlet for it what you're going
to do with it I don't know it
might come in it might not but I
am of the firm belief and I've experienced
it that if your intention is right and
you've got it mocked up thoroughly what you're
going to do with something it's all there
you can get it my needs have been
filled I used to pitch a lot too and I
used to say man I put on my
first lecture for God sakes the very first
public set of lectures I had 50 people
come in why the little hall cost me
more than those 50 people could begin to
pay and I was a little worried about it and I
was going to blow the whole scene I had three set up
I had five more minutes I'm told anyhow
I had three lectures set up in Chicago
to start the ball rolling and I met
a fellow from the old blue and red
network day it's radio and he says to
me you're going to put on the other
shows aren't you no I'm ready to show
business you set three shows you do three
shows win lose or draw but you do
three shows I looked at it yeah that's
show business isn't it okay I will the
second I had 25 people is worse but
I'm going to go through with it that's
the way it's done the third show my
god they swarmed into the doors like ants
they paid for everything the persistence of so
you persist you put your attention out if
your intentions are correct your intentions it doesn't
matter about others now they're gone if your
intention is there and then what you want
I think you'll get it everybody will everybody
can get it okay I think now I'll
have to call it off because thank you
you're a great audience I've enjoyed being here
