Mrs. Pike is a teacher of meditation and metaphysics at Palomar College in San Marcos, California. She also has given classes at the Philosophical and Religious Free Library in Escondido, California, and at the Narcotics Treatment Center there, a methadone clinic for heroin addicts. Before we also announce that we'll be speaking again on June 30th at 8 p.m. I'll be speaking on the kahunas of Hawaii next Saturday in San Bernardino.
That will be the subject. They're so lovely. They're so beautiful. We really should have a talk on color tonight. Pink, you know, is the color of love, and there have been many people who have started wearing more pink and have really... really changed their lives and brought love and happiness into it through wearing this color and also filling their aura with the pink vibration.
I've done that in Manly Hall's big book. I thought you might like to see it. They're very hard to come by. I waited 20 years to get mine, and then it came to me, and I'm also going to be showing some pictures from it. But if you'd like to look at it a little more closely afterwards, you're certainly welcome to. The talk is really taken from a pink series about the origins
of the Rosicrucian movement. Each of them has been thoroughly investigated by historians who have delved through hermetic lore and archives of ancient writings. The conclusions we've showed really is a very hard subject to pin down, and there isn't really any what you could call concrete proof of the origin of the society. But all four stories are very interesting, and I'd like to go into all of them tonight.
The first one is taken from the Fama Fraternitatis. This... probably most important document regarding the origin of the Rosicrucian order, the Fama Fraternitatis, was written in 1610 and published in 1614, although some historians feel there may have been an earlier edition of it. It starts out reminding mankind of the goodness and mercy of God, but warning the intelligentsia of that age
that man, because of his covetousness and greed, has begun to follow false prophets, and to stray from the path that God laid out for mankind. So because of this, a reformation is in order, and to bring about this reformation, God has raised up certain prophets and sages to help bring it about. In order to assist in this, a very mysterious man called the highly illumined Father C.R.C.,
born in 1378, and who died 106 years later, of German noble birth, but of poor meaning, himself, is considered to have been the founder of the order. C.R.C. was sent to a cloister at the early age of 5. Before very many years, he became thoroughly dissatisfied with the educational system there. So one of the other brethren there was going to take a holy pilgrimage to Jerusalem.
So C.R.C. decided that he would join him in this pilgrimage, so he left the cloister. Not as far as Cyprus together, when the Holy Brother became very ill, C.R.C. decided to continue on by himself, and he got as far as Damascus, where he fell ill too. So he decided to tarry there a while and study with the philosophers of that city.
While pursuing his studies there, he heard about a group of very highly illumined adepts and Kabbalists in the mysterious city of Damkar. So taking leave of his teachers in Damascus, he decided to journey to Damkar. Now he was only 16 years of age at this time, and it sort of reminds you of some of our young boys today who have dropped things to follow different gurus,
and C.R.C. did this too at just the age of 16. He found these teachers in Damkar to be very, very highly illumined, and they welcomed him with open arms as though they had really been expecting him, and he began his studies with them right away. He also learned the Arabic language while he was there and began to translate the sacred book M into Arabic.
M into Latin. When he returned later on to Europe, he took this book back with him. He had studied with these teachers for three years, and they told him that further teaching awaited him in the city of Fez. So he decided to go there next, giving up his plans to visit the Holy Land. When he got to Fez,
he found these teachers were not as highly developed as the ones in Damkar, but because of his training so far, he had quite a bit of discrimination, and he could choose what he really wanted to add to his own knowledge. The main thing that they did for him was to introduce him to the elemental kingdom. How many of you are familiar with that kingdom
and know a little bit about it? Sign the door, I guess, so I'll just very briefly go into it. It's another talk, really, but it's an interesting subject. This is a parallel evolution to our own human evolution. And it is developing the elemental path. The devas, that's spelled D-E-V-A,
or angels in Christian religion, are the most highly evolved. And then on the involutionary path, you have the nature spirits, those who control the winds and the rain, water, the elements within the earth. And this is partly why it was so important that CRC was introduced to this kingdom,
because you'll find that all the ancient Rosicrucians were very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very good at alchemy. And this involves using the elements and using the elemental kingdom and the metals within the earth, which they control. And this is the main thing that he gained
from the teachers in Fez. He also, during his travels, had collected many rare plants and different treasures, which he planned to take back to the intelligentsia of Europe. After he had been in Fez for two years, he felt that he was ready to go back
and present this knowledge to the world. And he did. To the wise men of Spain. And, of course, he hoped that they would really receive this with welcome arms, because here he had all this wonderful knowledge
to present to them. But such was not the case. They only greeted him with ridicule, because they were the wise men of the day, and they didn't care to admit their ignorance of any of this or to share their position with anyone else. And at this point,
there's an interpolation in the Fama Fraternitatis, which is recording this story. But Paracelsus had also read the sacred book M, although he wasn't a Rosicrucian. But from what he gained from this book, he became the foremost physician
of medieval Europe. And my husband is going to pass this book around and show you this picture in Manly Hall's book of Paracelsus performing the experiment of palingenesis, which refers to metempsychosis
or reincarnation. And I want to read you what it says under the picture while he's showing it to you. To the Stoics and Pythagoreans, the term palingenesis was equivalent to metempsychosis or reincarnation. By reconstructing plants
from their own ashes, the alchemists sought to prove not only that consciousness and intelligence survived the annihilation of the physical structure, but that they retained the individuality they formerly possessed and remained as organized forces.
The term palingenesis was also used to indicate the ability to to indicate the rebirth of the universe from its periodic sleep or the replenishment of the earth after a cataclysm such as the flood. The ancient philosophers, considering the planet as a living organism,
attributed to it those various phases of life through which all forms seemingly pass, birth, growth, and decay. In India, the alternating periods of cosmic activity and inertia are referred to as the days and nights of Brahma.
Schopenhauer used the term palingenesis to signify the survival of the will and its manifestation in new personalities. Some students of hermetic philosophy affirm that by means of palingenesis it would be possible to resurrect the human body
even at a long interval after death. Those attempting this experiment attack their problem without a proper understanding of the issues involved, for no hermetic formula should be taken literally. Palingenesis is actually
the resurrection of the spiritual soul and the life of the human body. From the irrational material organism. The human body is the hermetic bottle, which is shown there in this picture, and the tree of the soul is burned by human degeneracy. By palingenesis, however,
it's proved that no matter how low man may descend in bias and degradation, the spiritual elements are not lost but can be reassembled by alchemical art and the tree of life caused to grow again within the human nature. Manly Hall has just done such a terrific book
a job with this book, I think. I really feel, and quite a few other people do too, that he'll be a member of the hierarchy next life if he isn't really already. Well, tired but not discouraged, Father C.R.C. decided that he couldn't interest the wise men of Spain
in what he had brought back with him. So he decided to return to Germany, his home, and go into retirement for a while. He went back and built a small house there and continued his work in Germany. He developed several rare instruments
that would have made him famous as well as wealthy if he had wished to capitalize on them. But this wasn't part of his plan and so he really didn't spread these about. After five years of retirement, he decided again
that he would try to interest the intelligentsia in some of the things that he had brought back. In order to do this, he decided to accept three members of the cloister where he had received
his early training. To help him. He swore them to stick to secrecy and told them that what he would dictate to them which he wanted them to write down they were not to reveal to anyone.
They agreed to this. So the four of them began to work very industrially at the tremendous project of writing down all the arcanum, the books, and the secret teachings
of this order. And it's considered that these four really are the originators. of the Rosicrucian movement. At least in this first theory. This is the dictionary
which classified many things in there for mankind. They were going to do continue working on this translation of the sacred book M but so many people
began to come to them for healing that they weren't able to accomplish too much along that line. They decided to accept four more members bringing up the total
of the group to eight. Seven of whom were German and all of whom were unmarried. They then finished the work and it took them quite a while
to get this all done but they finally did. And then they enlarged the home of Father C.R.C. which then was called the House of the Holy Spirit or the Sanctus Spiritus. At the time
they felt that they were ready to go out into the world and to pass some of this knowledge on. And not only just for that purpose but also to perfect it and to take care
of any mistakes that might be in the teaching and to try it out and see how it was going to work. Before they left they decided to write up six bylaws or rules
that all of them would swear to and keep. The first of the rules was that from that time forward they would accept no honor or credit to themselves except that they would
heal the sick without charge. The second rule was that the letter C.R. or C.R.C. would be their mark from that time forward. The third rule
was that each member was to look for someone

worthy to take his place at his church with death. The fourth rule was that they would wear no unusual ceremonial robes or clothing but would just dress
in the clothing of the country where they were going to go. The fifth rule was that each year on a certain day they would meet again at the house
of the Sanctus Spiritus to sort of review their work and see how things were going. And if they couldn't be there they'd be represented
by an epistle. Was that they would keep the secret of the fraternity secret for 100 years from the world. Having all sworn to this
and signed it the five of the brethren departed to distant countries and the following year the other two went leaving Father C.R.C. alone in the house
of the Sanctus Spiritus. Each year they met with great joy because they found that their teaching was beginning to take hold and they were
beginning to perfect it. Finally when one of the members of the original eight died in England it was decided to keep the burial places of the members
a secret. Shortly after this Father C.R.C. called all the rest of the members home and it was thought at this time that he prepared
his own symbolic tomb. The Fama Fraternitatis says that when it was written no one knew where Father C.R.C. had been buried even the brothers
in the order didn't know or when he had passed on. His tomb was accidentally discovered 120 years later
when one of the brethren who had a great deal of architectural skill was found decided to make some improvements in the house of the Sanctus Spiritus.
While he was doing this he found a tablet that had the names of the original members on it and he thought this should be in a more imposing place
so he decided to remove it from the wall where it was attached by a very large nail. As he took this nail out part of the plastering and the molding
came loose revealing a door. On this door was written Tolest and then the Roman numerals C.R.C.
X.X. Annals to Tables which the brethren interpreted to mean in 120 years I shall come forth. Well, the next morning
the brethren gathered together very eagerly to open this door and see what it would reveal and when they did they found it led to a
very good sized vault with seven sides and seven corners. Each side was five feet wide and eight feet tall and although there was no light
coming in from the outside into this vault it was very well illumined by a light which continued to burn the ceiling and no doubt
this was part of their alchemical of this tomb. A circular you'll see it in the picture here and it had brass plates
on top of it with writing on it and when they moved this aside it revealed a large brass door which when opened
revealed the body of Father C.R.C. in perfect state of preservation although it is laying there for 120 years. In his hand
he had what they consider their most important document after the Bible the sacred book T. And now I want to
show you this picture and I'll read you what Manny Hall has written under this picture. When the brethren of the royal cross entered the vault
of their illustrious founder they discovered engraved upon the circular brass altar top this inscription A.C.R.C.
I made this compendium of the universe as a symbol for myself alone the brass plate also bore five other inscriptions all but the first
enclosed in circles the first read Jesus is everything to me the second by no means empty the third the yoke of the law
the fourth the freedom of the gospel and the fifth the intact glory of God the sacred book T found in the hand of Father C.R.C. enclosed
with the following remarkable words a seed sown in the breath of Jesus C.R.C. came from the noble and illustrious German family of R.C.
a man who in his lifetime was by divine revelation the most subtle imagination and indefatigable labors admitted to the celestial and human mysteries he preserved his more than royal and imperial arcana
collected during his travels in Arabia and Africa from the scrutiny of his generation which was not right for it and kept it for the eyes of posterity he organized the most
zealous followers of his art name and faith and built a little world responsive in every way to his great personality having at last produced this compendium
of the past present and future at the age of above a hundred not by reason of sickness but summoned by the spirits of God he yielded up his bright soul to God the safe and steadfast creator
this most beloved father ineffably sweet brother faithful teacher and incorruptible friend lies hidden here from his own for one hundred and twenty years then falls the signature
of the brethren and the book T concludes with we are born of God in Jesus we die and in the Holy Ghost we live again we have to remember
that at this time the medieval world was really very orthodox and the fact that the Rosicrucians came out with this really deep teaching was a very great step forward
much more than it would be now and you see certain little undertones of the orthodox still in the teaching the brethren also found a small door in each one of the sides
of the vault and when they opened this there were all the supposedly lost teachings of the fraternity and the books and the rituals and everything
that everyone had thought was gone forever so it was with great joy that they examined everything and then sealed it all up put the brass plate back above Father C.R.C. and put the altar back
and put the altar back in place and sealed the whole church up again and they went forth then to their duties but really greatly inspired because of the miracle
which they had all witnessed the important book on the beginnings of the Rosicrucians the Fama Fraternitatis unfortunately it hasn't been able to be really proven
there is no proof that Father C.R.C. ever did approach the learned men of Spain and the mysterious city of Damcar has never been located but it could have been
a code name that they used to keep them where he received his training of secret because the whole order has been so secret that it's very hard
to discover anything about it Father C.R.C. was never seen by anyone except his own brethren after he founded the order so there was no description left of him either
and it's doubtful that he and Christian Rosenkranz were the same because they weren't associated until later with the writings of the chemical nuptials I'm going to show you
a picture of it's just an artist's version of Father C.R.C. Father C.R.C. is considered not only as a personality but also as a personification of the system
of spiritual philosophy which he is reputed to have established which helps to explain why no authentic portrait of Father C.R.C. has ever been discovered in the secret tradition
in Freemasonry A.E. Waite reproduces a portrait which is presumably that of the illustrious adept but Mr. Waite is careful not to commit himself as to the authenticity
of the painting others less conservative have accepted the picture as genuine in the Lisbon Museum there is a famous painting by Albert Drewer which bears a strong resemblance
to the supposed portrait of Father C.R.C. in Mr. Waite's book the reading table the folds of the cloak the hat the beard the position of the head
the finger touching the temple are all nearly identical the Drewer painting was made about A.D. 1500 there is also this picture shown here is intended not as a portraiture but as an idealistic conception
of the spirit of Rosicrucianism the sage seated at his table copying from the secret book of nature its pages lighted by the candle of the illumined mind and resting against the human skull the great book of the lowest cross lies unclasped upon the table
beside it an hourglass intimating that in time all shall be revealed the true Rosicrucians were an organization of initiates and adepts only when he lives the Rosicrucian life can the disciple ever discover
the secrets of that sublime fraternity that's the first theory regarding the origin of the order and now I'd like to take up the next one Rosicrucianism and Freemasonry are quite well connected and it's been really a mystery about these two organizations
and their relationship to each other most Masonic brethren who have investigated this theory do believe that the ancient Rosicrucian order exists but they're divided as to its origins one group feels that it originated in medieval Europe as an outgrowth of alchemical speculation
Robert McCoy who's a 33 degree Mason feels that Johann Valentin Andrea was the founder of it or at least that he expanded an already existing organization founded by Sir Henry Cornelius Agrippa we're going to talk a little bit more
about Johann Valentin Andrea later on he was a very well known German theologian and he's definitely connected with the writings of some of the early works in the group the Rosicrucians represented the first European invasion of Buddhism and Brahminism
and others feel that the organization was started in Egypt during the philosophical supremacy of that empire and that it also brought in teachings from Chaldea and Persia admitting the existence of the Rosicrucians as a philosophic
and also a political organization is really amazing that they were able to keep this organization so secret through the centuries but apparently the brethren were able to do this a great number of scholars
and philosophers among them Sir Francis Bacon and Wolfgang von Goethe have been suspected of affiliation with the order but this hasn't been proven either the Rosicrucians abounded then and often when they had a political problem
that they wanted to gain favor for they would pass out pamphlets saying that they were distributed by the Rosicrucians but of course this wasn't true because they kept all their activities very secret the ancient and secret order
of the unknown philosophers has really lived up to their name to this day the members are completely unknown no one knows really who was a member of the order in his secret symbols of Rosicrucians Dr. Franz Hartmann
describes the fraternity as a secret society of men possessing superhuman if not supernatural powers they were said to be able to prophesy future events to penetrate into the deepest mysteries of nature
to transform iron, copper, lead or mercury into gold to prepare an elixir of life or universal panacea by the use of which they could preserve their youth and manhood and moreover
it is believed they could command the elemental spirits of nature and knew the secret of the philosopher's stone a substance which rendered him who possessed it all powerful
immortal and supremely wise him he defines the Rosicrucian as a person who by the process of spiritual awakening has attained a practical knowledge of the secret significance of the rose and the cross
and now I'd like to discuss a few of these symbols with you I'm sure you're looking at this picture so look at this symbol of the cross there of the golden and rosy cross it's said of this cross
that it's made of spiritual gold and that each of the brethren wore it upon his breast it bears the alchemical symbols of salt, sulfur, and mercury and a star of the planet and around it are the words
faith, hope, love, and patience the double-headed eagle symbolizes the ultimate and adrogynous state of the human creature Rosicrucian alchemy of course wasn't concerned with metals alone
although the adepts were really able to do this in their alchemical experiments but the real secret behind this was that man's own nature has to be transmuted from the base ignorance
that we all have into the spiritual gold of wisdom and understanding and this is really what was behind their experiments none could reach Rosicrucian adeptship
until they were able to do this while he's showing you that one these next two pictures were made for me by a friend in Escondido I think he did a beautiful job on them
the original symbol of the Rosicrucian fraternity was a cross a rose crucified upon a cross and sometimes they would have the cross rising out of the rose
but this is the most common version of it and usually it was shown raised upon a three-stepped cavalry the Rosicrucian rose was also drawn upon the round table of King Arthur
and it's the central motif in the length of the chain which suspends the great George in the jewels of the Order of the Garter Sir Hargrave Jennings feels that the Order of the Garter
had a connection with the Rosicrucian fellowship too Rosicrucian rose rose is a yonic symbol which is associated with generation fecundity
and purity blossom by unfolding is symbolical of man's spiritual nature which also unfolds the red color of the rose refers to the blood of Christ
and the golden heart concealed within the midst of it is symbolic of our own golden nature within us which we have to awaken
the number of the petals being ten is symbolic of Pythagoras is the perfect number which he considered to be ten the rose symbolized
the heart and the heart has always been accepted by Christians as symbolic of love and compassion of which of course the Christ
was the outstanding personification the religious symbol is of great antiquity too the Greeks used it as a symbol for the coming of the sunrise
or dawn and his metamorphosis Appalachius was changed into a donkey because of his foolishness and in this fable he regained his human form again
by eating a sacred rose given to him by the Egyptian priest the presence of a higher religion rose on the excursion of Martin Luther has given
historians quite a bit of speculation as to whether Martin Luther also had some connection between his reformation and that of what the Rosicrucians
were attempting the symbolic principles of the Rosicrucians really are so deep that it's very they're very hard to grasp I want to show you a few of those charts
and symbols which are so involved it really it gives you a very healthy respect for their knowledge of astrology and cosmic principles
you don't see these too well that's the way they have one in a human here we have a monkey this is a figure of a woman here
she has a chain in her hand down to this monkey which symbolizes the animal nature within mankind then there's another chain from here
this is the the word for God and there's a hand coming out of it with another chain connected to her wrist what is interesting about this picture
I saw is that she is holding this chain down to the monkey or the lower animal nature but this other chain up in God
is inviting them to come it's connected around her wrist it's not something she's doing this is something she has
born within her it's not something she's just doing and I thought that was very interesting so many letters here's one
they're just so terribly involved that we can't it really would take a lifetime to the fraternity most of them
went right ahead with their daily lives and their work whatever it might be and even their families didn't know that they were
members this is how secret they kept their affiliation whatever initiatory ritual they had has never been revealed so there's nothing
on that efforts to join the order were apparently futile because the Rosicrucians picked out
their own members when they found someone that they thought would be an addition to the society they would investigate him
thoroughly and then he would be contacted in some secret way sometimes he'd be contacted personally or in
another time he might receive an envelope inviting him to go to some special place signed CR or CRC
what was revealed to him there they never discussed but because many Rosicrucians were artists and writers
later a great change could be seen in their writings and often Rosicrucian symbology would enter
into their writings and this is one thing that has given people a clue as to who might have been
a member of the order they continued with their healing work Queen Elizabeth was healed twice of
smallpox and the Earl of Norfolk was healed of leprosy by the Rosicrucians alchemists were visited
in their laboratories by a strange person who would give them a part of a formula that they
were struggling with and hadn't been able to discover and other people claimed to
have been visited in dreams or in visions by them I'm sure you've all looked a little
bit into dreams this is another very fascinating study and there's
much guidance to be received through dreams I've done quite a bit of work with that with
narcotics addicts and it's amazing how much is revealed to them in dreams
the same as it is to everybody else of course so some of these people
claim that they received instructions in the Rosicrucian fraternity in their
dreams there's always been doubt as to whether the name Rosicrucian came from the symbol
of the rose in the cross or if this was just a blind
to cover up the real meaning behind the word Godfrey Higgins
feels that the word Rosicrucian didn't come from the rose but came from the word
ros r-o-s which means dew d-e-w and this dew was considered to
be the product that made up the philosopher's stone there's also the dew
in the human brain which comes down I took one course in yoga and they
gave a technique for activating this subject within the brain
you tip your tongue clear back and press on the roof of the mouth as far
back as you could and through practice yogis are able to activate this
substance which then comes down and they swallow and sometimes they refer to it as
honey and it's supposed to rejuvenate the body this is a yogic technique
this means wisdom and r-u-s is translated concealment no doubt all these words had something
to do with the meaning behind the word Rosicrucian not only that
but freemasonry are suspected to have been Rosicrucians too many feel
that the inner order of the Rosicrucians decided they needed an outer group
to meet the material world and to continue their teaching on the outer
plane so they started this order of the freemasons others
feel that they became dissatisfied with their progeny and withdrew leaving
their secret symbols and allegories but withdrawing the key to unlock the meanings
behind these symbols I think there aren't too many masons today who really
do know how deep the teachings are in the Masonic order and they don't
most of the ones I've met aren't really too interested in even looking into
it but it really has a terrific philosophy behind it if they would really
go into it a little more many learned minds feel that the
Rosicrucian order does still exist and that it preserved
its individuality by withdrawing from the Masonic order
according to widely accepted tradition the headquarters of it
were at Carlsbad Austria and Manley Hall says there
is a group in the Schwarzwald forest in Germany
called the Bohemian Brothers which are quite similar
to the teachings of what can be found
out about the original order but he doesn't
know for sure if they really are connected
with it or not relations of the Rosicrucians
were expressed by certain well-known people such as
Sir Francis Bacon the Comte de Saint Germain
and the Comte de Cagliastro many cult students
feel that Cagliastro was a former incarnation of Madame
Blavatsky I don't know if you've run into that theory or not
in your group but Cagliastro was also considered to be a member
of the Knight Templars a group that was concerned with transcendentalism
not the Maharishi's transcendentalism but the Rosicrucians instigators
behind the French Revolution too because this is what they had in
mind to bring about great changes in medieval
Europe now I'd like to go on to the third theory
this is the first two theory takes a form of a
sweeping denial of Rosicrucianism as being a real organization and
considered that it was a work a product of the imagination some
feel that Father C.R.C. was a story written by
C.R.C. Johan Valentin Andrea that I mentioned before at least
one of the early documents is from his pen there isn't too much doubt
but if he wrote the chemical nuptials of Christian Rosicrucians when he
was only 15 years old which there's quite a bit of proof
he did it makes one wonder who gave him this information and if he was
overshadowed by a great adept to have been able to write this book
at the age of 15 it's almost unbelievable that he could have
done it to show you a picture of him and Manley Hall
has the most interesting article in here about Sir Francis
Bacon and Shakespeare and he feels that Johan Valentin
Andrea may have been also these three may have all been
the same person so I want to show you this picture this is
here is the little picture of Johan Valentin Andrea
back here this is the other thing that was wrong
but this book and I find it you have one
page in it but other than that it's been
kept very nicely now this is Shakespeare portrait
of Shakespeare and this is Sir Francis Bacon
and they really are very very similar and
also the picture of Johan and Valentin Andrea
is also very similar if you can see the three of them lined up
there I want to read what Manley Hall wrote under
that small picture let's see let's go back to the
small down in here as my husband passes us around
this is what Manley Hall has written under
this picture esoteric circles there are vague rumors
which intimate with the humble personality of Johan
Valentin Andrea masked in exalted emissary of the
rose cross while there is sufficient evidence at
hand to establish the actual existence of a
German theologian by the name of Andrea there are
many discrepancies in his biography which have not
been cleared up to the satisfaction of critical
investigators a comparison must say shown above was
that of Sir Francis Bacon disclosed his straggling
resemblances in spite of the differences due to
age if Lord Bacon borrowed the name and
identity of William Shakespeare he could also assume
after his mock funeral in England the personality
of Johan Valentin Andrea this is a mystery
that intrigued me for ages and I don't
know if it ever will really be sold
the bust is significant as it also appears
upon the crest of Lord Bacon to denote
that he was the second son of Sir
Nicholas Bacon furthermore the four letters OMDC those are on that
picture in the frame at the lower right corner of the plate
by a very simple Baconian cipher can be changed into
the numbers whose sum gives 33 the numerical
equivalent of the name Bacon these several points of
interest when considered together go far toward clearing
up the mystery surrounding the authorship of the
first Rosicrucian manifesto it's assumed by many and
maintained by many that numerous pseudo societies did
spring up and there are many of these
active today too actually this talk does not
present Rosicrucian orders that the farmer fraternatatus and
the confessio fraternatatus wrote about is the one
that was originally famous in the medieval Europe
many evil minds notable among them Eugenius Philolathus
Michael Meyer John Hayden and Robert Flood defended
the concrete existence of the society of the
Rose Cross and many of those men some
of those men were active in forming similar
opinion that Sir Francis Bacon had a hand in the
writing of the farmer and the confessio fraternatatus
because the rhetorical style of these two books
is similar to Bacon's book New Atlantis and
it also contains Rosicrucian symbology in that book
there have been quite a few romances written around
the ancient Rosicrucians and probably one of the
best known and most interesting is the book
Zanoni by Lord Berwer Lytton some people feel
that he was a member of the order
but others feel that he requested membership and
was rejected although it's difficult to prove the
existence of these ancient historians it is pretty
well known that there was a group of
highly developed servants who did change the direction
of medieval Europe in the arts and sciences
with profound improvements and deep knowledge that they
began to spread throughout Europe first in Germany
and afterwards to Spain and France and Italy
and other countries we come to the very
last theory and I think this one's very
interesting too it's all along an entirely different
line this theory maintains that they

there was this group of very advanced men
who had superhuman and supernatural powers and the
reason for this was that they were citizens
of two worlds they could use on the
material plane to provide the teaching and to
meet people but they were also so highly
evolved that they could operate through their astral
or etheric bodies and their temple was really
located on the etheric plane to become a
member of this order and they feel it
was very exclusive because how many people do
you know that can travel in their etheric
bodies or on the astral plane it really
takes quite an adept to do it or
at least one who has worked on those
principles very strongly in order to become a
member they had to be able to not
only transform the base metals into gold through
alchemy their own nature into a spiritual nature
which was really the meaning behind the alchemical
experiment they thought that the man's own body
was the alchemical laboratory and that he had to be able
to perform this experiment to become a member
they thought that man was able to develop
his spiritual nature by what they called removing
the rose from the cross and they thought
that the spiritual nature was attached to the
material form at certain points which was symbolized
by the nails in the cross at the
crucifixion and able to transform and accomplish this
man had to develop so high that he
could draw the nails as you might say
and allow his own spiritual nature to come
down from the cross and to work on
the level where he was operating so if
all of this is true you can see
it really they were highly evolved to be
able to do this this is something you
don't find very often even today and we
should be a little farther along evolutionary wise than
then those professing this theory regard Saint Germain
as the founder of the order and they
feel that he and Christian were the same
person they accept fire as a universal symbol
because this was the element they could use
to transmute the metals with they felt that
the existence of the Rosicrucians was to preserve
man's spiritual nature and to through ages of
materiality which we've all been going through Max
Heindel the Christian mystic felt that the Rosicrucian
temple was located over and around the home
of a European country gentleman and that this
temple would be moved to the Americas sometime
in the probably not too distant future I like the
closing statement that Manley Hall used in his
book and he was quoting Max Heindel who
founded the Rosicrucian order at Oceanside I'm sure
most of you know that but Max Heindel
referred to the Rosicrucian initiated as so advanced
in the science of life that death had
forgotten them I like that statement I want to
show you one last picture in here Manley Hall says
this picture let me read this right here
this picture is a complete key to regeneration
of metals transmutation of real holiness here is
the name for God and the sun and
the holy ghost this is the number of
the celestial order the number of the peddlers
on the wings to be developed I won't
go into all of this but these animals here are
symbolic of the marriage of the alchemy iron
sulfur lead tin salt here we have a
nocturnal scene and the woman here signifies the animal nature
of man I don't know what you want
to do anyway this is the sunrise scene
and here is man which is symbolized by
the divine nature of man and water is
the night and over here we have fire
which is symbolic of the spirit of man
and the spirit of man and the spirit
of man and the spirit of man and
the spirit of man these are alchemical symbols
and here you have the alchemist himself with
these two naces in his hands which he
uses to cut down darkness that's very good
interpretation over here this cloud here is symbolic
of the darkness between us and our spiritual
nature that we have to it's very close to
the picture and there's a lot more in it than
just that but often here is the chain
again connecting man to his spiritual nature which
he's chained to that he cannot escape it
someday he will really realize his own spiritual
nature so that concludes my talk and thank

he's just written so many fabulous books that's all
I really can tell you about him I
don't know him that closely does anybody else

a light dream but I think dreams are just
really highly significant if you start watching them
and begin to keep track of them on
a piece of paper when you have them
at night write down a few words so
you can remember them the next morning because
they're hard to recall if you don't and
Edgar Casey says we're best at interpreting our
own dreams because we know what those symbols
mean to us whereas another person really doesn't
they can mean different things to different people and
also if you can't get the message of
that dream then just ask that night for
a clarification before you go to sleep and
you'll have it presented in some other form
so that you can get the meaning from
it because it's your higher self trying to
tell you these things so this higher self
wants us to know and to have this
guidance so it'll make it clear to you if you
start to do is to watch their dreams
because you can tell someone something but if
his own self tells it to him and
he receives it in a dream he's going
to listen a lot more to it I had
one girl in Escondido there at the drug
clinic that kept having this dream that she
was walking along coming down this path and
coming to the edge of a cliff and
each time she almost fell over this cliff
but not quite she didn't get the significance
of that dream at all but it's really
just obvious that she's on the wrong path
headed towards disaster and hasn't quite reached that
point yet and so we always have a
little open discussion about it I asked them
to see what they think their interpretation is
because I think it's better for them to
get it and almost everybody realized what this
dream was but she didn't pay any attention
to it she went right ahead on the
path she was on and she did end
up in the mental institution she was only
about 14 years old it was just a
shame because here was her higher self trying
so hard to give her guidance you know
and to get her straightened down another path
but I thought that was one of the
very best examples that any of them had
had but a lot of them have had there
was one boy in prison that one night
he said there was a group that came
to the prison and he didn't even know
what the name of the group was but
they started working with these different young fellows
in there and they sort of picked him
as a project you might say and they
would all try to send him energy and
just another thing that I feel quite strongly
about is that we don't try to heal
people without their permission I think this really
breaks an occult wall because we don't know
whether they need an experience to learn from
you know we do learn from our problems
so I feel according to the Alice Bailey
teaching which I which is situated in the
highest chakra above the head to their soul
star just send the energy and let the
soul use that energy the way it seems
right you don't you know have some necus
problems but we don't remove it from them
anyway getting back to this boy in prison
they had been sending him energy and he
said that night he went to sleep in
his cell and all the presence beside him
and he thought I didn't even bother with
my eyes he said I just thought it
was one of the other fellows in the
cell you know but he said then I
felt this kiss on my cheek and he
said I jumped up and he thought what's
going on you know but there was no
one there and then he realized that this
was a spiritual experience that he may have
given them a little inner sight like that
but most of the ones that I worked
with really hadn't even looked at from that
angle you know they were just taking it
for the kicks and they really hadn't even
put two and two together about the experiences
and a lot of them had awful experiences
and I think this is because they went
to developed enough to bring the good side
of it forward you know it seems to
heighten whatever is within you and of course
it's not an earned experience anyway it isn't
something that is yours but if you do
have an experience through drugs it's just a
crutch that you use to get it it's
nothing you can recall like in meditation your
development is always there you know that's the
thing I try to bring out to them
what they develop in meditation is theirs and
they can use it at any time but
these drug experiences ruin the physical body and
we have to keep our temple healthy that
we're given to use this life I might
tell you a little technique that I use
every day in trying to keep my body
in a good state and that is to
flood myself with light from this soul star
above the head and I thank each cell
for the work it does for me because
each cell is evolving and gratitude develops the
soul we should be grateful for every wonderful
thing that comes our way and if you
thank each cell every day for all this
work it does for you they work that
way much harder because they want to do
their job correctly they just don't remember it
I think that's quite well proven scientifically that
everyone does dream but if you want guidance
through your dreams start asking for it when
you go to sleep just tell your higher
self that I like guidance in my dreams
it's like learning to play the piano or
anything else the more you do it the
better you really do this great watching dreams
and beginning to interpret them and everything they
seem to get a lot of guidance that way
if they'll open up to it Edgar Casey
said that children as young as six years
old will start to receive guidance in a
dream if you have young children you can
start them watching at that age think how
good they'll be at by the time they're
our age interpretation if you dream of somebody
dying it should be a wedding I think
this happens too I think this is why
I feel Edgar Casey is right that we
should interpret our own dreams and find out
what it's telling you it's a very personal
thing you know although it may be about someone
else too but he said most dreams are
about ourselves and if you can't get it
to begin usually you can't when you first die
out this but just keep asking for clarification
and write them down so you can check
back and see what happens you know that
follows through on it you have to remember
your dreams in your mind that you want
to remember right that's right too thank you
for bringing that up that's certainly true you
have to you have to ask for you
know to get this going and make the
request and then do your part by following
through on it that's right so you can
put down just a few words you don't
have to get wide awake for the rest
of the night but write down a few
words so in the morning you can recall
it anyone else have anything of course manly
hall got his information from this pharma fraterna
taught us and the chemical nuptials of christian
rose and crants and the confessio fraterna taught
us but i have never run across those
books so i don't know they may be
probably in the archives of some european library
i suppose or perhaps the masonic order may
have them put away somewhere too i don't
know there's quite a lot more in this book
there's a smaller version of this book it used
to be $25 i don't know this one was
$100 but now these are selling for $400
if you can even find one that someone
doesn't want but you can buy the smaller
version and it's just reduced it's quite difficult
to read because it's a small print and
it doesn't have the colored plates which are
so beautiful but there's quite a lot more material
that i didn't give i mean his cosmoconception well
yes i think it's quite different i think
though that max heindel from my opinion i
think his group and the quaker town pennsylvania
group are the two higher groups that's the
way i personally feel and no one has
to take that if they think the santa
day group is better but i think max
heindel really did have a member of the
hierarchy as a teacher his teaching is very
similar to the alice bailey teaching and the
theosophical teaching because they all had members of
the hierarchy for teachers so of course the
teaching is really the same and i think
that's a very high order there at oceanside
they don't advertise they don't charge for their
lessons it's just on a donation they don't
even take a collection up at church and
they have a fabulous mailing list of people
because they really they could use more money
the place is getting a little run down
but they just don't charge max heindel was
pretty implicit about that i think it's really
a very high order the quaker town pennsylvania
group i think is quite a very high
order too they don't advertise either and they
have a long discipline yes you mean the
main book considered to have started in the
1400s about the beginning of the year 1400
see father crc was supposed to have been
born in 1378 and he died 106 years later
so it started around 1400 pretty far back
of course it's not far back like the
egyptian writings or anything but yeah yeah yeah
yeah we should be able to live to
the end in 26 years so i think
we really know that if we could do
you know if we do if we could
get rid of this mad consciousness that we
have to get old and die everything goes
with us in the seed atoms of our
bodies our four bodies yes did you put
any connection between the teaching of yoganandi and
this you hear because now if you just
study them how was the masters and all how
they could appear disappear do anything yes i
think there's a connection i took his course
quite a long time ago this is yoga
philosophy but truth is truth you know and
the hierarchy of the planet really and i
think it operates through many different groups there
are lots of paths i don't think this
path is it go that way at all
yes we have to find what seems right
for us and they're all leading the right
direction yes that's true preserve their body because
they still have work to do you know
and i think it's fine to preserve the
body as long as it remains in good
shape and everything to just hang on to
an old body i don't think that was
too much good and if we finished our
work like you did he announced he was
going to leave and he left that's the
way to leave i think not to go
old and die just to exit through the
head of the heart center and consciously this is
what we really ought to do then of
course we have people like annalise garron i'm
sure you all know her who took her
body with her that's

she was translated and she was a mormon and excommunicated
in the mormon church because of her writings and
also her husband what's his name reason scarron
they both were in the west and took their
bodies with them but they have appeared to
quite a few different groups through the years and
there's always this scent of narcissus when she's
going to appear we have at the philosophical
library in escondido we had a talk about
her and i have a friend in escondido
who does channeling she's not a medium but she
does consciously alert channeling and we were talking
about scaring who had come through her several
times and this beautiful aroma of narcissus just
filled the room and i didn't put the connection
together at that time and she didn't either
because we hadn't heard about this aroma when
she was present and i asked her where all
that beautiful scent coming from she said i
don't know we don't have a thing of
burn right now and it just appeared so
i think she died maybe i might be
wrong on that but she started out in
theosophy and the master they call him appeared
to her and wanted her to get out the next stage of the theosophical
movement and at first she refused she didn't want to
she was afraid of getting into something like
this but maybe it wasn't on a high level
you know but when he appeared to her physically
she decided that she would go ahead and
do it and i had a friend that
knew her very well and she said she
was taking down this invitation on a conversation with
you and writing it so rapidly and she
was chosen for that reason that she could
tune in so well to their teachings and
this writing is not her writing she doesn't make
any claims for it although she has written
a few books too but it's supposed to be getting
right into the new age that far ahead
the teachings a lot of it's like her book
on cosmic fire it's his book really it's
very hard going and so advanced it's pretty hard
to get it all but I think those
books if you can get through them they're
really easy to study in a class and
they're really advanced teaching covered I think there
must be 25 or 6 maybe somebody else
knows exactly how many books she has but
they're all dictated except a few that she wrote herself
by the master D.K. they're hierarchical teaching the same
as Max kind of teaching really only they
cover a lot more ground and very much and
I heard so many people say he never
went on that trip and I just don't
believe it because my mother had a teacher
in Seattle Dr. Clark who had gone on
an exhibition and he was a Christian science
practitioner Dr. Clark was but he kept his
affiliation with the church because he could be
and work with so many more people but
then he gave out this teaching that they
had received in Tibet to certain students that
he felt were ready for it you know
and those were kind of the first things
that I read and got really interested in
I grew up in Christian science so I
never had an orthodox background my mother was
into metaphysics too but that's the first thing
I really got I didn't live at home
very much he was sort of an oddball
to the family they never knew where he
lived once when he came back whenever he
would show up he would be gone for
three or four years when he would show
up he would tell him about these beautiful
things and his family and everybody thought he
was a coot and a liar so in
1938 he showed up at my house in
Dallas Texas and we had not seen him
or heard from him for 28 years at
that time he was 82 years of age
and he was driving a rampage car and
he drove it from California to Texas by
himself and I looked at him and I
said uh uh where have you been now
he said sit down and read I'm tired
of talking but he had a habit of
disappearing and after he returned he told us
where he was and he had been now
maybe he I will say this number one
I'm a professional writer of other things I've
just finished the three day conference the three
uh one and the all professional writers and
then I do other things too um two
trades I'm almost master both of them but
um regularly we get too busy to talk
about it until we get it through and
then we leave it for people to take
a look at and according to their understanding
they may have it and he was like
that he lived at my house for seven
months and strictly vegetarian and he taught me
how to broil grapefruit with honey on it
for my bedtime snack which is a very
healthy thing to do so he was quite
sincere in what he did if he erred
in any way or enlarged on it if
he did I don't believe that he did
but I will say if he did he
did it because he wanted to give to
the world something to look forward to and
work forward to thank you for it I
appreciate it a lot as I said he was not
very close to the family he was almost
like a myth he would come and he
would go and he left the manuscripts with
me which I haven't done anything with yet
because that was the agreement and I'm sure
that he just took that body of his and
the instructions haven't come through yet so I'm
keeping my mind far of the deal I
had a book in the library and this
book in the library said it was his
grandfather that took the trip did you know
that that book was all about I don't
remember the name of it but it said
it was my grandfather that the book that
said it was his grandfather was mistaken because
his grandfather was a black man I heard
that they were about his father was a
black man and he died at a very
early age for a grandfather he died almost
before he was born I think he was
around 48 or something like that he was
just a black man so he couldn't have
written the books in a literary way I
was reading through some of my William Lilley
Kelly letters that had come through from the
other side this one was from Edison and
Kelly was telling Edison that he had met
very slowly and how much he wanted to
go with some friends in New York to
meet Edison and they wouldn't let him come
along because Edison was very picky about having
strangers come so Barry wanted to go so
badly that I guess he went up to
his bedroom and went because he came back
telling all these stories about Edison and they
went so far to check the butler to
see if he had left or anything and
he was very much he can't say something
like that but I think he might have
a lot of development that he can judge
a little bit by his right and by the
engine when Edison happened to him the family
was never notified did he have a funeral
and everything great writers that leave their work
for us are putting forth for us for
our development and our understanding and many people
understand it differently I think regardless of who
writes something that is really constructive for our
higher development we should take advantage of at
least the better elements of it did anybody

your hand in this pyramid structure according to

will levitate and anything put in there will
not decay it just dehydrates the Russians have
done a lot of experiments they go into the
pyramid there and you can meditate on it
and Bill we had Bill and Judge Antifa
who I don't know the relationship there but
she helped him with his magazine and they
came up to dinner the other night and he was telling
us that after meditating under this pyramid for
quite a while now he does it without
the pyramid and he gets the same effect
it's a mental thing now that he can
do and it seems to tune you into
a lot of things I haven't tried it I
like to get a model of it you
know a scale model and try it I
