Subject, Physical, Social, and Spiritual Science. Too strong a build-up in the introduction is, of course,

that the preacher may not be able to bear out the impression which has been given of him.

I remember so well the time a few years back, in Los Angeles, when I was giving an after-dinner talk, a young lady who was introducing me arose after the meal and said, now we come to the important part of the evening, a talk by Dr. Dan Fry. Of course, some of you have heard Mr. Fry before, and some of you have not. But I'm sure those of you who have not are eagerly waiting to hear him now. I would say, if there are any of you in the audience who have heard me before,

hello. I'll allow 30 seconds for you to mention an old talk tonight.

It isn't a lecture in any sense. It deals with the widest application, heard me say before.

Science can be divided into, the lines are not precise,

they overlap and tell to say exactly where the division comes. But for the purpose of discussion, you can divide science into three broad areas. One, desires of the body, requirements.

There's the social relationship that exists, between man and his fellow man. There's the social science that deals with relationships that exist, between man and those powers which are above the normal plane of man's existence. Lumping together, we come under one of those.

And the development of each branch is equally necessary in the development of a civilization anywhere in the universe.

In some cases, in defining, we have never determined the area of mutual agreement in those sciences.

In the physical science, we did it a long time ago, which is why the physical science progresses so rapidly. You can go into Moscow and buy a textbook on physics. You can go to China and buy a textbook on physics. You can go into Cuba and buy a textbook on physics. Vietnam, if you please, and buy a textbook on physics. Or anywhere in the United States, you can buy one. And in all of these books, you will find very precise, accepted by every physicist, regardless of his, can be found.

The foundation from which expeditions can be launched into the unknown.

And as soon as we do this, of course, differences of opinion begin to develop among people.

Human nature being one of those different people will interpret different observations in different ways. A certain experiment will be performed, or a certain theory will be set forth. One physicist will say, well, I think that's probably the best way in which that can be expressed. And some other physicists say, oh, no, I don't think that. It represents the facts at all. But they are all working from an area of mutual agreement so that precise tests can be developed to test the relative merits of the different theories.

From the same foundation or the same area of mutual agreement, the results of those tests are equally binding upon all physicists.

The disagreement in the material science is a spiritual science. Very precisely defined area of mutual agreement, and we should have it in the social, and in the spiritual sciences. One of the things toward which understanding is working. It brings up a number of problems, I know, and this is preliminary to the lecture tonight. I was invited to a laboratory which is offered by

California Institute of Technology, and some of the professor and discussion period

which lasted from about 7.45 in the evening until 5.30 the next morning. It had some very interesting subjects that we fixed around and to reach some interesting conclusions. I was given, I was invited to give a very short talk to start the ball rolling. It wasn't a formal lecture or anything. I still don't know how it came that I was invited to participate with this group to begin with. And they suggested I give some sort of a short talk to start the discussion going. The talk that I gave was essentially the talk of the three divisions of science, and the fact that they are all sciences. Great problems that we face today stem from the fact that the spiritual sciences have been treated

rather as arts than as sciences. Because we have not defined this moment on a space tabula.

Most of the instrumentation that goes in these space tabulas are made at the Jethro Paulson Laboratory at that time. And of course, they have project engineers on each of them. But this man arose and he said, well, Mr. Fry, he said, I've never been able really to consider the spiritual science as being anything but an art. I have never been able to accept it as a science at all. Because I have never been able to, to achieve a satisfactory concept of God. Because I just can't grasp anything as I would like to. I can't create in my mind a concrete, satisfactory concept.

I said, yes, this is a problem that many people face. Some people become atheists because of it, or proclaimed atheists. Actually, there is no such thing. The man who proclaims himself an atheist is a man who has been revolted against some particular concept. Of God. He has been revolted, perhaps, against the concept of God as being an old man with a long white beard who sits up on cloud nine and pull strings and makes everyone dance. And this is a concept against which most anyone would revolt. But in the fervor of his revolt against some particular concept, he denies all possible concepts. That this is only his outward, I have known many work in, work in my early years in which there was always

a very high element of hazard. When you went out to work in the morning, you were never quite sure that you were going to come back, at least vertical. You might come back horizontally, sometimes in small pieces, because we were doing blasting work at the time. And it has been my sad duty on a number of occasions to pick up the pieces of some of my best friends who made a mistake at a critical moment. And I have been in a company during that time of two men who professed to be atheists. Myself suddenly found ourselves in trouble. In a position which could have been our last moment on Earth, in which there was no reasonable right to expect to survive. And it was a remarkable coincidence, perhaps, but in both of these occasions, they occurred about a year apart, in both of these occasions, the self-avowed atheist lost not a moment in calling upon the deity. It's something that is known inside, it's known to every man whether he admits it or not.

It's one of the things that creates the difference between man and the animal. The animal has no spiritual science and therefore will never develop a material science. He doesn't have a complete foundation. But in this case, the engineer said, I can't accept it as science because I can't achieve a satisfactory concept, a hard and fast concept of God. And I said, yes, sir, that's the problem many people face. But let us see if we can approach it from another angle. By chance are an electronic engineer, are you not?

I said, your work every day deals in electronics. You make your living by it. You are personally engaged in creating an electronic module for a space capsule to be put into orbit. Yes. For electronics to be a science. Electronics is a very precise science. I said, fine. Would you please go up to the blackboard and draw me a picture of an electron? His reply was automatic. It's been given for years. I knew exactly what it was going to be because it was reflex action. He said, oh, no, I can't draw a picture of an electron, neither can anyone else. No one has any idea what one looks like. No one's ever seen one, nor will anyone ever see one. Why will anyone ever be able to see one? Because they're so much smaller than the shortest wavelengths of light by which we could see them, and nobody can ever see one. He said, we, and this doesn't matter because we deal with them anyhow only in terms of their properties as they manifest those properties to us.

Not that far before he suddenly realized he'd answered his own question. in the room and everybody else got it at the same time. It was always real sharp and it didn't take long to catch on. It was a great challenge for almost a minute. Nobody said a word. And he colored a little bit and he thought and he scratched his head and finally said, well, Mr. Fry, I see what you mean. And I said, I didn't say anything. No one has said it. I understand that no man can in any science tell them in exactly the same manner we deal with them in terms of their properties as those properties are manifest to us. That did him more good than anything had done him for a number of years because he was the man who wanted to have something to hold onto. He had a thought box that he couldn't envision the ultimate until he suddenly realized he was working every day in a science in which he couldn't begin to envision the ultimate. He was progressing very satisfactorily

and that's one thing inherent in every human being. That is the knowledge, conscious or unconscious, that there is a supreme power and intelligence that pervades and controls all nature. No matter what type of concept we create mentally to that power, every man that has ever lived has known it. We find races of beings in different forms of the human race and in different forms of the human race and in different forms of the human race and in different forms of the human race and in different forms of the human race in Central Africa we've done at least one race

But in our struggle to understand more of the nature We spend a great deal of time, a great deal of effort. We create a great number of individual statements and things. There's seldom any effort to make a real point. It came about some years ago, in El Monte, for a group just about the same as this.

And I had made the opening statement, and I was discussing the fact that there were three branches of science, and they were all science, and stated that the fundamental laws that control all three of these branches of science are actually identical. They are identical laws.

There was a chance that there were two young undergraduates from Caltech present in the audience. One of them just couldn't take this. He got up immediately and challenged his table. He said, Mr. Frye, I don't see how this can be.

How in the world could you say that the laws of physics are the same as this? The social or spiritual science, you refer to them. How can you say that these laws are fundamental? He said, I would like to see something done on this. I would like to see you go to the board and draw on that board a symbol or a diagram that illustrates some well-known principle in physics.

And then, upon that same diagram, illustrate the development of the human soul. I would like to see it done.

And I said, well, sir, if you'll be patient for a little while until I finish the lecture. I'm now engaged. I'm giving. I'll be glad to go to the blackboard. If it is something I've never attempted to do, I don't know whether I can do it or not.

Until we're finished with the present discussion, I'll be glad to make the attempt and we'll see what comes forth. What I'm giving or the talk that I'm giving tonight is exactly what happened. Incorporate things which I think in this audience will have heard at some time or another of everything that I say tonight.

Every fact that I use, every statement, every supposition, every theory. Have been heard by each of you at one time or another. The question is, have they ever been put together in a pattern that you can recognize? And when I went up to the board, of course, I had to start with some principle of physics.

Because they were physics students and this was what they were particularly interested in. And this is what they challenged me to do. So I drew first a line across the bottom of the board. I drew another line near the top of the board.

I called this line energy. Then I called this C, the quantity C.

Having gone this far, I asked these boys, would not you recognize anything familiar about that? And they said, oh yes, this is E equals mc squared. This is the relationship between matter and energy when it is converted.

I said, is that a good starting point for the development of the human soul? Oh yes, this would be fine if you could do it. I said, there's one thing that could be brought out of this, but he is by no means the first man who did it.

It was done quite a few years ago by the Greek philosophy, most of which are still in existence and available.

For two principles of comparative use, the statement matter was.

And that's where physics has been starting ever since. He called this, coined the term, and used it ever since.

The statement matter was, and then he began to show the changes that took place in matter if you change the energy level. But it will manifest a change in some way. Kinetic energy, energy, manifest some change.

He saw it, you can get it in the library today, you can get the translation of it, and it speaks negative truth out of it.

It was a habit in those days to write about 20 words for each one that had any meaning. This is on physics, which he wrote, which is still available in public libraries.

This is what it is, it's a discourse on the changes that take place in matter when the energy level is changed. And he called it physics, and it's been called physics ever since. He coined the term. As much energy as he could conceive of adding to this matter. And when he had done this, he thought his work was done, and he began to occur to him that perhaps there were a few things he had left out.

He started at the wrong statement, matter was.

The statement was only a sequel, but the sequel comes after. In his sequel, he started with a statement. At this level, well, he called them all.

He is the, creates all changes in nature, change in nature.

And we say the ability to do this, rest with God, is the thing we call God. So this is the level. Matter actually appears to be the final manifestation. Rather than the beginning point, it is the final manifestation of something that starts at this level. The reason physics go beyond that.

Now they say perhaps before matter was, energy was. I don't know how many of them realize. Text on this, that is now at this level. He started before here and worked up the curve. Now he started at the top of the curve and worked down. Because this was a sequel to his first text, it came after it. And because he started at the top level, rather than the bottom, it was above his first book. And he called it meta from above and beyond the first book. It was a sequel and started above, so it was metaphysics. And he also coined another term, and it's been metaphysics ever since. If we start with a statement, here it was, God was, energy was, and worked downward toward matter, we're pursuing metaphysics. The bottom would say matter was, and as we approach the energy level, we're setting physics.

It's the same, very few people realize that it's the same path. It can be demonstrated, there are enough reference points on this path. If you see it, it's whichever way you're going. If you can demonstrate it, it's the same path. But there hasn't been too much respect lost between the students of those two beginning points. During Aristotle's life and after his passing, many people studied his work. But they all tended to choose one starting point or the other. The statement matter was, if they say the statement spirit, energy, God were, and this is the starting point,

they were metaphysicians and they fell out. But there hasn't been too much respect lost between them, because the physicist is fond of saying, oh, I don't want to have too much to do with that metaphysician. He's working out there in the field where there are no proofs. The most common statement that the physicist makes about the metaphysician. He's working out there where there are no proofs. He forgets one little thing, that every so often that metaphysician gets some proofs. And the instant that he does, the physicist seizes upon those proofs and makes that material a part of the body of physics. And if you study physics in history today, you'll find that 90% of everything that is in physics textbooks today was metaphysics 100 years ago. You have to work out in the field where there are no proofs, and nobody ever gets any proofs of our actually metaphysicians they weren't physicists at all.

Take the case of one Max Planck. You get any physics textbook today, and it speaks of Max Planck and where he went to school and so forth, and the fact that he was one of the great early physicists who gave to the world and to science Planck's constants. The fraction by which you multiply the frequency of a particle to determine its frequency. He was not a physicist.

If you read his autobiography during most of his early life at least, he was a metaphysician from way back and was considered by most of his contemporaries to be one of the greatest track plots on the confines. But he took a principle directly from metaphysics, for it had existed for at least 2,000 years. He made of it a tool which the physicist could use, and has been using ever since with constantly increasing frequency infused every day. It's one of the tools you have to use. In nuclear physics today, you're going to get anywhere at all. It's used automatically. If the energy level of a particle, or the statistical energy level of any mass of particles, is proportionate to, the metaphysician says, the level of energy, the level of development,

the level of spirit or god possessed by any given particle or any series of particles or any human being is proportionate to its rate of vibration. Now, if you can find any difference between a rate of vibration and a frequency, I don't know what it is. But they mean exactly the same thing. The thing was that the physicist accepted it a couple of decades ago. The metaphysician has known it for at least 2,000 years because it's in all the recorded history of metaphysical study. That's because it's found close to the level of energy. That's because it's found up close to the level of energy. And if you start down here, you've got a long way to go before you get there. If you start at the top, you become aware of it almost at once. One of the reference points that proves it's the same curve, whichever direction, you follow, I could give you many more, but they'll actually get too long as I get. Now we have created a well-recognized principle of physics in the spiritual sense.

This is, this curve is the nature of an energy.

It's constantly from this point towards this point. The curve is very, very slow. On this point, and we should put in two more of the things that,

the terms that were used by Aristotle when he was due to go, he called this third god and energy, he called this matter, he called this line earth.

When he used the term earth, he referred more to a solid, to a solid state of matter than to any planet, but he called it earth. He said, this must be heaven because that's where God is.

I mean, that's where God stays. At this level, we can call it heaven.

It later moves upward very slowly of itself. And we want to determine how fast it moves, how fast we can progress on this curve. What you make will result in your more rapid rise if you're moving up.

Unfortunately, with creatures of complete self-determination, we can run down two of the biblical stories. We had an angel up here at one time who ran all the way down and jumped off the bottom. We found it in either direction.

Whether it's worth making any effort. How fast will we get up this curve if we don't make any effort? So we have to find out how fast this earth plate is moving. And to do it, we will take a single principle from two, from each of two ancient forms of study. Consider this book on chemistry today.

If you find any purpose for that textbook, almost certainly the statement that alchemy was the mother of chemistry

may be followed by the statement that alchemy really was a pseudoscience that the earth didn't really know what they were talking about. And we've discarded all of the nonsense that they propounded for a moment,

which were reached in the study of what was then called alchemy. By some of the wisest people who had very long periods of time to study and consider and think, meditate. When you take a group of highly intelligent men and you give them endless periods of time to study and consider, you can't lightly discard the conclusions they reach, even if you don't understand them. It's more profitable to make the effort to understand what those conclusions signify than it is just to discard the whole thing because you don't understand it. What we see today is a science which is in its adolescence.

And when a child begins to become a man or a woman,

he's becoming an entity to himself. And the only way he can become an entity to himself is by being a necessity or drive to disown one's parents.

All our parents don't know what's going on anymore.

And it admits it's parents' parents because it really wasn't a smart universe

and a force to matterless energy.

And you can't go any farther than that in the universe, so we don't have the best points in there. It's so that there were manifestations in between. It's in the south.

We call it 32 degrees Fahrenheit. It will manifest a change. It will become what we call water. ...on this energy curve. If we continue to add heat energy, to another precise point, 212 degrees Fahrenheit, it will manifest another change.

So from here on up, we'll fall into the protons, in other words, to complete it, to convert it to complete energy, and we would agree to no longer have that.

...to determine how fast... ...to look into another science known as astrology.

Now, if you get any textbook on astronomy today and look in the preface of it, it will say that astronomy is a pseudoscience of astrology,

but it was a pseudoscience because these old boys again didn't really know what they were talking about. ...nonsense to say propounded. But the astrology did divide the precision of the equinox into approximately in the right position

to illustrate that. At present time,

we're right between... ...riding point between two of them. We are leaving... ...if I see an age,

is the age of what? Most advanced thinkers now,

to the general level of intelligence on the planet, most advanced thinkers, I have biological tables.

The fifth biggest operation here, I believe, is about 2200 years. ...any effort on our own part.

It moves up pretty slowly. ...impatient people... ...want to make a little effort... ...we're going to be going up.

I'm sure you wouldn't just stand on the escalator and wait for it to carry you... ...be gone before you got there. ...complete...

...which we move. ...will understand... ...you can put any number of reference points in.

I'm going to put in just enough and determine for yourself in your own home

exactly where you are on that curve when I'm through. ...one of the physics... ...at this point... ...well, at what point... ...so I said,

well, you know that my primary business, business to which I earned my living, is the designing of sensing instruments. We have to build instruments that can see, feel, hear, smell, and taste. Because we send up a lot of missiles that you can't put a human being on and we want to get all the data possible and so we have to produce electronic instruments that can duplicate these functions. So there's frequently talk of the possibility of building a robot and putting all of the five senses in and perhaps a few extra ones. The characteristics of a human being

we'll put into that robot.

No matter how it responded to outside stimulus, the computer mechanism was that instance of its own existence,

much less why. ...man to man. Consciousness of its own existence and the desire to find the reason. Consciousness of its own existence comes in the dawn of human intelligence, which we're going into here tonight. Man says, I am, when he reaches the point of consciousness of his own existence, when he knows that he exists, he immediately becomes aware that he's in a physical body. And that body gets hungry every so often. ...in some sort to put on over that body to even have some sort of... The first step,

the first goal on this curve.

...goal is gold,

because gold is the symbol of the needs and desires of the body. This is the first target for which... ...running up this escalator. ...when they arrive there, too many people get off. This is where I was going. I've arrived there. I've arrived. I'm here. I'm going to get off. It's been a long time. I never realized that there is anything more ahead of me. Carnegie was one of them.

His memoirs, that he had a fortune over the broken bodies of his competitors. He was completely without anyone who got in his way. Something above. The first goal,

and there are things

that it actually covers. Some knowledge itself refers to a collection of facts. But a toolbox by itself does not imply the ability. Not nearly as many are stuck on this level. We find them usually in colleges. People call them an infinite supply of facts. The moon is 93 million miles

in the universe to the sun. Life travel is 186 and so on infinitely and infinitely on. The collection of facts from the most helpless people on earth. They simply had no more money

to pay them with. ...country, but every other college in the country was laying off its professors, too. There just was no place. And so he thought, well,

I haven't had any in history. The man standing

and lying out here always keeps himself in his... even though he kept trying constantly. And when his funds were exhausted, he went to... went to county, he went to various places and they laughed at him. They said, well, you're a college professor with 16 years of teaching. Why don't you go out and get a job? Why are you coming to us, I ask? And they turned him down. ...and when his credit was exhausted and when his family began to be hungry, he wrote a note. It was this note that he wrote that caused it to be... ...country, but he said, I have exhausted

every possibility of which I can consider crime. But since it's the only possibility left of avoiding starvation, I'm going to try. ...attempt either, but I will not survive failure

in this last attempt. ...hadn't pulled the trigger. They aren't the same thing.

This is about the tools.

This is some ability to use those tools. It does not guarantee the best possible... ...use the tools, but something tonight I could see that above all gets...

Well, what's the difference?

There isn't a difference

between wisdom and understanding. They're the same thing. They aren't the same thing. They're very different. They don't... They aren't even located in the same center. ...in the center of understanding. Understanding is in the heart. If you combine the two, they will guarantee the best possible use of the tools of knowledge. ...it becomes more difficult

to see. ...any difference

between wisdom and understanding at all because from looking along that curve from here, they appear so close together that you can't recognize the difference. ...specific reference... ...and spent several years

in his own life. ...the things

that were demonstrated... ...manifested these things in his own life and in his own teaching. We find the first one... ...attempting to achieve it.

We're somewhere between wisdom and understanding. We've got quite a lot of wisdom, but we haven't got very much understanding yet. We're trying to achieve control over matter. We've built tremendous cyclotrons and bevatrons and... ...and almost every other element. ...a tremendous amount

of gadgetry and you do it a little bit at a time and it isn't very successful. ...and you don't have to have... ...manifestations. And each time he did something like this, he gave the sermon. He pointed out that this was...

...in itself... ...because when he did that, his disciples said to him, that's a wonderful trick. Show us how you do that. And he said, I can't explain it to you. ...someplace. ...concepts necessary to explain don't yet exist in your language. ...face-to-face and you don't have to ask anyone any questions because you will know. ...now I couldn't describe it to you, then I won't have to. ...when you get up there, you're going to see face-to-face and all of these things which I do shall ye do also and greater things... ...for know ye not that ye are God. You're all on this curve and you're all going up to this same level. It may take some of you a lot longer than others to get there, and here is control over matter. When we reach it fully we can make water into wine or just control over matter.

You're now getting pretty close to this level here. ...control over spirit in matter it means that you can heal the sick. It's going to take care

of itself. You aren't going to need anyone to heal it. ...a little bit wrong

at this level, but this is where

it means there's not

of my son at this point. We were striving for this point control over matter and we haven't even passed understanding yet. We haven't even reached understanding. To achieve control over matter without having understanding is very dangerous because it could wipe us out completely. ...precise lesson on this. The particular purpose

is that we're trying to reach God by the work of their hands. They said we don't have to go through all this. We'll just build a tower up here and we'll climb up the tower physically. We'll make our physical science or the work of our hands get us to God. Well, it didn't work. It never worked. They were going to build a tower up to

where you tend to always end. I mean this is the parable that would be frustration you've got to follow the pattern I'm going to make.

...manifest. He said there were others because even at this step there was no point the disciples never grasped, fully grasped these steps anyway. ...mind them

and raised the dead. However, you're just dealing with spirits that's already in matter

to be the trouble. Can I get faster up this curve? Up there faster. See, I don't know how fast you're going up now but when you came into this lecture hall tonight were you aware of this pattern? I'd never dreamed of this. I'd heard of all these things I studied metaphysics and I'd heard of three divisions of water, air and fire and I'd heard of I'd heard of these miracles that were performed about but they were all just isolated things floating around and my mind had never made any pattern. All of them certainly I'd heard of all of them everybody heard I'd never seen them put together in any pattern had any meaning but at least twice as fast as you were when you came into this hall because now you know where you're going that's certainly and at least enough of them said you're going to keep going you're not when you reach there

you're not going to say this is it or this is it or this is it the road has never been on and I guess they can get a road map and they look on this road map and they'll say well what towns and cities are on this map what is the highway number so I can check if I haven't wandered off the road and when I go through these towns

I'll know I'm on the right road and the things that we're going to find along the way I'll give it to you here you can all add that you can find out exactly where you are on this map for yourself another could you tell me where I am you can question and I'll give you the answer can you tell me where I am I don't need to you can tell yourself when you get home tonight you sit down you get a little piece of paper reference point you say how much of my total effort what percentage of my total effort do I devote to this 40 percent 60 percent how much of my effort my residual effort do I devote to this and less how much do I devote to this by the time you get up here there isn't very much left otherwise understanding we'd have 10 million members today instead of a few thousand look at yourself and you say how much what am I part of my total effort do I devote to each of these two things you'll know where you are and what percentage of your total effort

is devoted to them you don't have to ask anybody at all where you are I'm going to take a drink of water and then we'll have questions on this or on any other subject I'm not a theologian there's a limit to how far I can go on this but if we can get those things you have to go quite a bit if you have questions that I can't answer but it is a pattern that's proven very helpful to people when I gave this talk and a friend of mine brought a friend of his who wasn't a valid atheist and had been for 30 years he said I've looked into all these religions I don't buy any of them there's problems there's road bars there's thought blocks and there's things that keep me from buying it and he came to the lecture and just says well I'll look at anything once he says I probably don't buy it but I'll look at anything once and when he went home my friend told me afterwards he asked him well what do you think of it and he says by golly he says I can buy that he says that's the

first thing that's a pattern that's a pattern I can understand every piece of it it all adds up it makes sense and he wasn't a real atheist at all he was just looking for something that he could buy something that appealed to his intelligence to his consciousness

and it had logic

and I don't know or not as yet it will be however within the next 45 days

but the first time the publishing company

was very enthusiastic about it and I can see them and it was in June

I think so just before New Year and he said oh wonderful wonderful I'm so glad you're here I've got to talk with you a little it's unfortunate you came on this day because this is the busiest day of the year we're closing our fiscal we can hardly look up from the desk but I find somehow that it will be 10 minutes and we should talk for at least 10 minutes and he says there isn't quite lunch time why don't you dash over get a stab and dash over now and we can go to lunch and we'll have our lunch time to talk I did and we had lunch together and we talked about a number of things and this is the busiest day of the year and I just can't take any time out but I'll give you five more minutes there

They had very good construction and smooth flowing diction. They'd get up on a stand and they'd talk and everything. Oh, that sounds so wonderful. He's such a good speaker. And when he got through, I scratched it and said, but what did he say? It sounded good, but I don't get it. The tinkling cymbal, but he couldn't bring any understanding to

his audience because he didn't have the understanding himself. And if you're going to bring any lesson to yourself, you've got to understand it yourself or you're sounding bad in the tinkling cymbal. You may sound very good, but you aren't getting anything over the audience. You can't get it over the audience because you don't understand it yourself. And it was understanding was the word that was meant there. The first commandment was written in the Bible, and I'll say, I shall love the Lord thy God with all my heart, with all my soul, with all my mind, and with all I think. There's an emotion which is not subject to the will. Nothing simply does because he is commanded to do so. Suppose if someone came to you today and said,

I'll give you a million dollars if you love your neighbor. You say, I'll give you a million dollars if you love your neighbor. You say, I'll give you a million dollars if you love your neighbor. You say, I'll give you a million dollars if you love your neighbor. You say, no, I love this guy, I love this guy. In your eyes, you'll be saying, how in the distance can anyone love a man?

That commandment should have been translated, I shall strive to understand the Lord thy God with all my heart, with all I think. And if we do that and we achieve understanding, love comes automatically. There's no need for anyone to command man to love God. If he understands God, he's going to love God and he can't help it. There's no state of command. I mean, the command doesn't do any good anyhow. The command is to understand. And when you get up there, it's very

significant question, because in the Aramaic, the term, the word is identical for charity, love, and understanding. And there were cases where it was translated, but the meaning was lost because of the mistranslation. It becomes very clear and it has a very plain moral lesson. It's

kind of far and ubiquitous. It's a dome light on. It makes the sense it may be my dome light.

I'm sure it won't consume enough power, though, to run the battery down how we're here. It does

have a dome light. It may be on, but I'm not going to worry about it. Right now, if anybody else has a GRM 317 license number, Ford, a car next to the fence, and you're concerned about the dome light, apparently it is on, and if you want to turn it off, we'll hold up the answer for a minute until we get back. That's funny how the world arose for us, because someone is concerned with the welfare of his fellow man. Contact with knowing exactly what it means to me from the last hour, the last day,

the last week, or the last year. That's an object to

nothing about which I could write a book. I'll try to get it over to the main thing.

The answer is about a day, and this analogy that I have created to answer 90 of the first 100

questions. Maybe I should give that here. I've got a number of things that will only take about five minutes, and it will only answer half the questions that are in this list here. After a conventional aircraft, it cannot really be explained in earthly terms, and we say that's

our object to a fine thought or something. If this might contain intelligent beings from some other point in space, some other planet,

some other place, questions will pop up. I have answered them perhaps each perhaps 300 times or 300 times or 400 times in life in the last 10 years, to answer these questions to themselves. They don't have to ask those questions. They never

come up after I have given this analogy. So when one of these things you've seen people say,

oh, what planet is this from? Is it from Mars or Enix or Neptune or Jupiter or Uranus? 100 billion

At least 1 in 10, this is the smallest system we have today, at least 1 in 10 will have a planetary system.

Planetary systems, at least 1 in 100 will have conditions suitable for life as we know it.

In the solar system we have 3 of 9. Some of them wax and rain and energy output.

Some of them are considered to be a little too large and some of them are too small and some are a little too bright. These are not planets, they're just a little variation from the type of sun that we have.

So they have conditions suitable for life. So we've got 100 billion to solve it, so we've got a billion that's conditions suitable for life. Estimates made by biologists today for some sort of life on them.

And then the only question beyond there is what percentage of life will pass after. We've observed about 10 billion of these galaxies, these star clusters.

We're only talking about one, the thing we call the Milky Way, of which our sun is a part. One galaxy. We've seen about 10 billion of them. But we see them in all stages of formation. From the dark nebula, such as the horseshead nebula in Orion that doesn't have any stars in it yet. They appear in the center and more and more and it creeps into this spiral shape and then finally throws out wings. And then the ones that are much older than that are and it becomes further smooth and round galaxy after that. We've determined the agencies of those methods. So we see that almost invariably stars appear first. The condensation proceeds faster in the center because of entity matters greater there. So suppose I give at least two million years between the formation, the average formation of stars in the center of the galaxy and that on the exterior portion, which is a very small part of the time required to beat the galaxy itself.

In the center are we, the planet Earth, going about one of the great central suns. And are we, the old timers in the galaxy, are we somewhat farther out? And are we going to face a tremendous growth when we find we're almost on the extreme outer edge? We're in one of the spiral wings thrown out from the galaxy. And we are definitely going to come lately to this universe. Our astronomical knowledge, our logic, and I am quoting now from, given by the head astronomer at Harvard Observatory, that he gave a couple of months ago, and he's saying he's a great quote, but he covered this whole area in a, in a talk called The Statistical Certainty of Extraterrestrial Life and Intelligence. It has been repeated by two other major astronomers, Dr. Brown, who just completed a study for which NASA paid something over $100,000, and his conclusions were identical, his other conclusions. He said that, undoubtedly, intelligent life is far more prevalent

in this galaxy than anyone dreams of at the present time. And this was a conclusion of a study on which they spent something over $100,000. It wasn't just somebody's idle opinion. The point we're making is that there are so many planets in this galaxy, and his talk says that it is a statistical certainty that this planet has been visited, or at least given a close pass and go by, this planet and many other planets in the galaxy. At least 10,000 times since the birth, a statistical certainty. It's an absolutely irreducible minimum number that we can assign to this probability. Statistically, none of those visitations would necessarily come from the same planet. Every single one of them could be from a different state of origin. So for many of them, it would be unlikely, it would just be a rare coincidence if two of them did happen to be among those 10,000. As we see one type of craft here and another type of craft

is sighted in Australia, people would say, oh, a spaceship, and they could all be the same, and they could all be people by the same people, and they could all come from the same planet, either Mars or Venus, and they could look all the same, and they could all have the same purpose, and they could have jumped in their craft with the sole purpose of coming here to visit us. And having come here, of course, they would land on the White House lawn, ask for worldwide communications, and proceed to give the world a message. And this is where the analogy comes in. There are on this planet, just before tonight, you're going to use this analogy for a couple of things, or at least a couple of areas where we have races of beings that are not yet received or born out. They still depend on their, they have no means

of rapid communication. They know nothing, however, about us as they race. A little bit about them, because we do have rapid communication in written language. What knowledge is available to one person soon becomes available to everybody if they want to take it, accept it, or are interested. But they know nothing about us, in most cases. But occasionally, we fly over those areas, and occasionally, must be seen by those people. We've raised quite a question, quite a controversy over the fact that we're not going to know what they're at. It is to pursue the wounded deer out of the jungle, and it's out on the flat to the plains out there, and a jet plane goes over. And I asked to this fellow from the jungle, he said, oh, folks, the most wonderful and terrible thing happened to me. I was standing out there in a tremendous bird's-eye view
