[00:00] Opening remarks and introduction

It's very nice to be back in Los Angeles again. We had rather a difficult time this year in South America and Peru and Bolivia, and never run into too much trouble before, except when you and I came on the mountain trail last year. But this year we ran into some bad water, I guess, or something, and my wife and I both had a rather serious liver infection, which we were just getting over. So that's another reason why I shoved my own slide to give it a chance to set down also. Well, before we get started, there are one or two things I want to mention. First of all, for some years, material has been accumulating from several sources, and in fact from many different sources, various scientific discoveries, some things taking place in the UFO field itself. And when this material is all put together, there is something very stark that emerges from it. But because it came from so many sources, it never dawned on me that it was going to happen.

It never dawned on me that it was going to happen. But it never dawned on me that it was going to happen. It never dawned on me that it was going to happen. And so I began to put all of these things together. It only is last year that I feel that I could talk about this from the public platform. I'm not going to talk about that today, but I do want to hold some more or less private, or we might call them intergroup meetings. I don't like the term intergroup very much, because it sounds like something will be exclusive, and other people say advanced group, and that doesn't sound too good either. There's hardly anything you can give it that makes it sound polite. But, But I don't want to give it publicly in a large group. Now I don't mean to imply that there's some secret that I have that I haven't told or that this material is so difficult to understand that you wouldn't understand it.

I don't mean that at all, because it's not that way. But the reason I have not felt it to be given publicly is because I wasn't too convinced of all of it myself. And I don't like to do anything from the platform until at least I'm convinced of it.

But I'm going to go ahead and give this talk anyway, which I call Coming World Changes, and I will mention the one or two things in it, or the third of it, that I still am not convinced of completely. I'm more or less convinced, but not...

Not completely. However, I feel that now is the time to give it, and I have given it four or five times already. Once in Miami, once in Kansas City, and elsewhere.

If any of you are interested in having such meetings, I couldn't, of course, give it for just three or four people that have to have more than that. But if you know the place or you want to get your group together, you will see Mrs. Frye at the book table in the back, why she can make a race with you for it, because we do have a group.

And I'm going to give it to you, and I'm going to give it to you, and I'm going to give it to you. And I'm going to give it to you, and I'm going to give it to you. It's called Coming World Changes, but don't come and expect to hear anything about the fertility polls or flipping axis or anything else. It won't be that type of lecture.

Because while it's Coming World Changes, it is Coming World Changes that will affect you physically, mentally, and spiritually. I have been aware for some years that the New Echo of Intelligence certainly has not told us everything, the reason why they're here.

Also, I have felt for some time, because of various things that have happened in the past. That they want something from us. Now, I do not mean to say that they want our gold or our silver or anything else of that nature. It's something entirely different. But there is something here that the Earth has that they want. And in turn, will share what they have with us. But there is a key. The Earth is holding a key to something. That's very necessary. I became suspicious of this after such statements as, do not think that we have so much, because we could be envious. Because they didn't say they were, they said they could be. So I want to give this information in this more or less private, in private meetings called Coming World Changes. No slides, so you won't have to wait for screens or anything. But I think you will be very interested in it. And this is the time to give it, so please see this as private or interested.

I also want to mention, I don't like to give a commercial for my own books. But I more or less have to do that. And I don't want to give it after a lecture. I think a group of the lecturers would do so. But there's just one or two things I want to point out. You know about other tongues and all that. I'm not going to talk to you about those books. But Secret Places of the Lion, if you haven't received it yet, and you're having trouble at your bookstore, I'm told by the publisher in England, there are only about 100 copies left. And, of course, that's a distribution point. We don't know when we're going to reprint the book, because there's a great strike in England that's been going on for over two months. And we probably will not be able to do another edition, so if you want a copy, I would suggest you see my wife and get one in the last month. Also, my newest book, Road in the Sky, is just out in England this week.

[05:00] George Hunt Williamson on South America

And again, only a very few copies have been printed in this strike. So if you're interested, you'll be able to get it to be much quicker. The publisher told me he will supply those orders for my lectures before he will supply the distributors. So Road in the Sky, you won't be able to obtain it for a couple of months yet. But you can get it in ten days, two weeks, if you order from my wife. This book is full of photographs and documentary evidence and drawings of the latest work in South America. And very little of what you've been hearing in my lectures, because I do not like to give in a lecture what I have written in a book. I feel so many lectures come through, and when you read the book, when you see the lecture, you hear exactly the same thing that you just read. Which I don't think is very good. So, therefore, Road in the Sky. Road in the Sky will contain material you've never heard me give from the lecture's black wall.

The lecture today... We have competition, I fear. How could we cut the light down enough for these slides?

I don't know what we're going to be able to do with these slides and all these lights, but we'll do the best we can. The lecture today is titled, City that Existed Before the Moon. Perhaps this brings up two questions in your mind. I chose the title on purpose so that it would bring up such questions. The first question is, what is the city that existed before the moon? The first question is, what is the city that existed before the moon? The second question is, what is the city that existed before the moon? The third question is, what is the city that existed before the moon? The fourth question is, what is the city that existed before the moon? The fifth question is, what is the city that existed before the moon? The sixth question is, what is the city that existed before the moon? The sixth question is, what is the city that existed before the moon? The seventh question is, what is the city that existed before the moon?

The sixth question is, what is the city that existed before the moon? The seventh question is, what is the city that existed before the moon? The sixth question is, what is the city that existed before the moon? The seventh question is, what is the city that existed before the moon? The sixth question is, what is the city that existed before the moon? The seventh question is, what is the city that existed before the moon? to point to the affirmative answer to these two questions. There was a time when there was no moon, and also there was a city, or a great civilization that existed on the earth when we did not have the present satellite because of this time. We will take a trip today in our quest for the city that existed before the moon, starting from Kusno, Peru, and we will see some of the most famous ancient ruins in South America, but instead of just showing you stone walls and ruins, I have, much to the

request, many of you made requests last year that I do this, I put more human interest into the lecture, and I have done that this time. You will see some unusual people, places, besides just stone walls and ruins. Toward the end, I will tell you how all this, and how you can use the UFO field to give this lecture without mentioning UFO. But, you'll be able to read between the lines and see where you are supposed to be better. If you can't, I will read between the lines for you before the end of the lecture. So we are going to take a journey then, and the end of the lecture will take us to the city that existed before the moon, starting now at Kusno, Peru. I'll be ready on the windows. I think if we would close these sort of big windows that are near the screen, that might probably help because there's no sense of time. Can everybody see the screen?

We can change. This is Mount Salcantay, which is the highest peak in the Andean

range, rising nearly 22,000 feet above sea level, and we're on the route from Lima to Cusco, Peru. This is a solid gold face mask found in a tomb in Peru. It's

much older than the Incas themselves, predates them by two to three thousand years. This is from the Chimu Empire, the Empire of the Moon. These masks are very rare. There are only three in existence. This one's valued at about thirty thousand dollars. As an interesting story about the fellow here on the fountain, you can see that he doesn't look very much like an Inca, but actually this is an American Indian. A hundred years ago, the prefect of Cusco, of course you know Cusco was the capital of the great Inca Empire, and the prefect of Cusco, who liked to beautify the city with statues and fountains, decided that he wanted a statue of the last Inca emperor, Atahualpa, to put on top of this fountain. In the very center of the plaza of the city. So he sent to, can someone take care of this? Just a moment, I guess it's here. If we have any more problems today, we'll have to give up I guess.

Valued at several million dollars, it's solid gold, and contains over four hundred and fifty diamonds, three or four hundred rubies, emeralds, pearls and so forth. About here, you won't be able to see it from the distance, but about here, there is an emerald, one of the world's largest, about the size of a small chicken egg, and it is surrounded with a golden dragon. As we come out of the cathedral, on the right, looking over in the corner, a little forgotten corner, as you can see there, we find something very, very interesting that even the tourists never get to see, simply because it's not in the guidebooks and they never look for it. But this was constructed, this room in the 16th century, for the use of the Holy Inquisition when it came from Spain to Peru and to South America. Notice the ominous symbol carved above the doorway. In this room, the tribunal of the Inquisition met, and many people were tortured to death

in this room or sent out to be burned at the stake. Notice again the symbol of the Inquisition above the door. This is another church in Cusco called La Compania, and underneath it runs a subterranean river, a river that figures in many Inca legends. This is La Merced, another convent. This is the convent of the 16th century, where we find many of the early Spanish conquerors buried in the crypts there. This is the second great treasure of Peru, which is in the convent of Merced that I just showed you. It contains also many hundreds of diamonds, emeralds, pearls, and rubies, but the best feature of it is the solid gold work and the magnificent artwork done by the most famous of the 16th century goldsmiths from Europe. These two constitute Peru's great treasure at the present time. Coming down from the cathedral that you see in the background there, we come to the Calle Loreto, and Calle Loreto is very famous because it contains many of the original Inca and

pre-Inca walls. You'll notice the one on the right here, which extends for block after block perfectly, and also on the left. And you'll notice also above the Spanish work of adobe, mud, and straw, and you'll notice it isn't doing so well. This is a small colonial street in Cusco, as we were coming down from one of the mountains, this is niche with a herd of llamas that have just also been brought by the Indians coming down from above. This is in the convent of Santo Domingo in Cusco, which was formerly the great Inca Temple of the Sun. On the left, you will see part of a Spanish gateway. The Spanish, when they came into the main temple, tore out the main altar, as you see here, leaving only this much remaining on the original walls. Then they put their own archway. Fortunately, they did leave some of it for us to see. You've all heard of the great and fabulous Inca Disc of the Sun, made of pure gold, an

immense golden disc that was on its outer surface surrounded with emeralds and all sorts of precious stones to reflect the light of the sun. This is the place where that great disc used to be placed. Notice the holes in the stones. Golden ropes used to pass through these holes that supported the great disc. The story in the Chronicles tells us that the great disc was placed in the center of the city of Cusco. The story also says that the great disc was stuck save in the springs of Causas. The story also says that the great disc was stuck in the center of Causas. We have a little bit of a story here from the story, which tells us that one man—I don't know how he did it, because it would have been too heavy for one man—perhaps he had help. But anyway, one man during the seizure of Cusco by the Spanish was able to capture the disc of gold, and the same night he lost that disc in a crap game. The story then says that it went to Spain, to the king, but there is much evidence that

the disc remained in Peru and is still hidden there someplace. I'm going to show just about two or three slides that I showed you last year or the

beginning of this year. to give you a continuity. All the other slides are new this year. This is the fortress of Sacsayhuaman, which is about one mile from the city of Cusco on a hill. It used to be the great fortress that protected the capital of the Inca Empire. There are many strange tales about Sacsayhuaman. First of all, the Incas claimed that they did not build this immense structure. Of course, you're only seeing the foundations. But they did not build this structure, but found it and built upon the top of it. Now, in the next slide, to show you the immense size of these single building blocks, you can see how many of them there are here, we're going to move to this stone here. Looks small here, I know. Those of you in back won't see it at all. But the next slide will show you what the size of that stone is. Now, if you remember, I showed this slide the first part of this year and told you this weighed around 200 tons. I was quite wrong. I found this year it

weighs nearly 400 tons. One single building block weighing 400 tons. No more used whatsoever in the construction. And so perfect, no razor blade, no thin sheet of paper can be placed between the joining points. We find many of these things in South America, things that cannot be explained. This is about 60 miles away from the point I just showed you, north of Cusco. This is called the Palace of Olantaytampo. These blocks, gigantic in size and weighing many tons, were brought from 200 miles away. It's the nearest point where such stone could have been quarried. It was built in the second half of the first century. And the construction began in the quarried. 200 miles away, and I must remind you there was no Nile River to float these down on, but they had to be literally dragged over 200 miles of very rugged terrain and then dragged to the top of this mountain, because we're on top of a mountain here, several thousand feet they had

to be brought to the top. You'll see the Inca work between and on top, which is very crude compared with the other work. Of course, the question is, did they drag them? This is Mish

in front of the fortress of Sacsayhuaman again at those gigantic building blocks. The Incas said that because of the size, they must have been built by giants. Of course, they would not have necessarily, it wasn't necessary that giants built this gigantic fortress. It could have been small people, smaller than we are, if they had the power and force to do it. These are two little Quechua Indian children who are all dressed out in their finery getting ready for the Inca Festival of the Sun, which they hold every year on June 24th. We'll show you more about that as we move along. We're now on top of the fortress. These formerly were three great towers, one inside of the other. Now you only find the three foundations encircling each other. The legends say that inside of the central tower here, there used to be life-size golden images, which reflected the light coming in through windows. We're now leaving the fortress

and going on the road toward the forest here in the background. That's a forest of eucalyptus trees, which of course are not native to Peru and were brought there some years ago from Australia. Notice the size of the lintel above the door. The pre-Inca people were not very much for decorating their stones by carving them

like the Aztecs and the Mayas of Mexico. So in that regard, they don't come up to those people at all. But as far as stone masonry goes, they undoubtedly were the greatest masters or master craftsmen in stonework the world has ever known. This is called the throne of the Inca emperor, carved out of one solid mass of rock. This is where the emperor sat, surrounded by his generals, the chosen women or virgins of the sun, the other princes and nobles of the royal family. I used to sit there and watch the processions. I didn't mention at the beginning of the lecture today that I'm dedicating this lecture, in fact this entire lecture series this year, to the memory of a great scientist and certainly a great UFO researcher, and that is Dr. Morris K. Jessup, who passed away in Miami, Florida, just a few months ago. I'm going to show you some slides now that very definitely connect with Dr. Jessup's work.

About two years ago Dr. Jessup gave me some notes and some information on places he had visited nearly 30 years ago in Peru. And he said, when you get down there Rick, Here are some indications of how you can find those places and you take notice of them. Well, I hoped in April when I got to Florida that I could consult with him on it and get more information, but he passed away three days before I got to Miami so I was not even going to come. So I am an expert in his field. So I was not able to talk to him about it. But fortunately, after some doing and some looking around and using his notes, we were able to locate the places that he told me about. Those of you who have read Dr. Jessup's book, The Expanding Case for the UFO, will remember where he talks about the great stones in Peru that were torn out of a mountain. And evidently, the chambers and the stairways there were built by a race of little people

that he felt somehow were connected with space visitors and that these people utilized a magnetic force in the construction of their buildings and so forth. And I'm going to illustrate a paragraph or two of Dr. Jessup's book this afternoon with these slides. In his book, you will remember, you only saw a few drawings. He didn't have any photographs. So you'll see those this afternoon. This is called the El Rodadero, which means the slide. You'll notice the children here up on a weekend from Cusco are sliding down. And that rock is very, very smooth, almost like glass. And the Incas themselves used to use it to slide down. However, no man ever made this slide. This was made between 100 and 150,000 years ago by the glacier. It passed over this area. The glacier literally carved or gouged the rock out in this formation. Why is it important? Because Dr. Jessup found that the glacier had moved over the area where great chambers

and doorways had been and stairways. And therefore, it meant to him that these things preceded the glacier, which would make them over 100,000 years old, which is a fantastic age. She said he has a screen down there, and it's 250 more. I wondered if it was 2.50 or 250 point. Better screen in just a moment.

Now, with your permission, I'm going to read a paragraph from Expanding Case for the UFO by M.K. Jessup. On page 235, we read this. On the plateau north of the fortress of Sacsayhuaman overlooking. Cusco, at a distance of a few hundred yards, there is a huge ovate boulder as big as a large house. Now, this is the rock that's very close to that boulder, which I'm going to show in just a moment. In the background, you'll see the image of the Christ of the Andes, which overlooks Cusco below. And right below the statue of the Christ, you see a herd of llamas coming down from the upper mountains. Mish here is sitting on what appears to be a throne or seats, a series of seats. Actually, these are not seats or thrones at all. This rock is upside down. Those are the tops of former chambers or tunnels. Notice the tops, how rugged and how torn they are. That has not been caused by erosion. This block was torn out of the solid mountain by the glacial action and earthquake action

thousands upon thousands of years ago, and then deposited here on this plateau. This is the big boulder that Dr. Jessup was talking about, which we found in Peru. Now, you'll see as we move along. All of the descriptions that Jessup gives would fit this particular boulder. We're certain that this is the one. This boulder is marked and pitted with remnants of chambers, passages, and a stairway. Only a fragment of about six steps remains intact of the stairway. One solid granite mass carved.

These are the stairways Jessup tells us about. Only about six steps remains intact of the stairway, and the ends are jagged at the points where the rock was torn asunder. The width of the stairway is not over 18 inches, and the treads and risers are about six inches.

A fragment of the original stairway has broken off from the rest, and you see here where it broke off.

The steps are now upside down. Original risers are horizontal. Original treads are vertical. Treads can be identified by the hollows worn into them by long usage. Nearby is a scrambled pile of stones, a three-dimensional jigsaw puzzle. Some are 10 to 20 feet long and heaped in such a way that a man can crawl under or between them. These stones also have been ripped out of the solid mountain. One face of each stone is smooth, dressed with considerable accuracy, showing a cornice at the top, perhaps a tunnel section or possibly part of a chamber wall.

The other sides are irregular, as though blasted from a solid mass. These stones were once the sides of passageways or rooms. Also in Jessup's book, you will recall a tunnel, which I'm going to show you in just a moment. Here is another blasted rock, now upside down. Notice the stairways here. They're upside down. All the stairs. And in the corner, just the remnant of a room. You see, where it came into a corner there, a room or passage. The rest has all been torn out of the living rock. Jessup mentioned a tunnel in his book. And I crawled around under these rocks for some days before I found the tunnel. I'm certain it's the tunnel because the dimensions are exactly the same that Jessup gives. Remember he talked about a tunnel that he said was only 40 inches high by 18 inches high. This is exactly that. Yes, it definitely has been used by individuals going through it, because you'll notice the handholds inside, along the rock, carved in the solid rock, and they're very, very shiny, reflecting the light, indicating that they have been used for a long period of time, which has polished the surface like glass.

Jessup believed that tectonic action, that is, deformation of the earth's crust by earthquake and the faulting caused the ancient stairs, chambers, and walls to collapse.

He believed they were extremely ancient because the glacier had passed over them. Jessup believed the works belonged to a race of little people and that somehow they had a connection with the UFOs at that particular time. He believed this because there are indications that the ancient structures came about through the use of magnetic or resonating electromagnetic energy or force. We move on now from the fortress toward the forest that I told you about before. The fortress was built in the 16th century. It was built in the 16th century. It was built in the 16th century.

It was built in the 16th century. It was built in the 16th century. It was built in the 16th century. It was built in the 16th century. We're now at that point. This is called Kenko. You'll notice on the right one single gigantic mass of stone again that has been carved. These things were not built on the top, but were carved out of the living rock. Chambers, stairs, everything imaginable, altars, and so forth. Inside, we find a tunnel system with tombs, formerly tombs, carved on the inside of this rock. The magnificent thing about it is, or the rather startling thing about it is, that you are only seeing one-third of the total carved area. Very, very sacred place. Here, they built an altar around an ancient sacred rock and an amphitheater surrounding that. On top of this great carved mass of rock, all of this carved from one single mass of rock. This is not the ground. This is the top of the stone. All of this carved out of that.

This is one of the first altars we're going to see this afternoon. This is called an intiwatana, or hitching place of the sun. Ropes ran around these pillars that supported a gigantic disk of gold here. And the pre-Incas and Incas actually believed that they could capture the power of the sun's rays at these solar observatories and use it for the benefit of their people.

I believe that they had knowledge of cosmic forces, which has been lost to us, and that they did utilize it. They didn't have atomic bombs. Now, because of the light in here today, and because this picture is atomic exposure, you're not going to see much. But this is an altar, which is on the inside, or just the opening, underneath the rock I have just been showing you. We are now going into the interior of that rock. And this is an altar that precedes the tomb areas and so on. Now, for just a few moments, I only was intended to show these slides because this is not Peru, but this is about 25 miles south of Miami, Florida, on Highway 1.

This is Rockgate Park, and the place is called Coral Castle, one of southern Florida's most historical and famous landmarks. However, I feel it has a very definite connection with what we're talking about today. And I think it's quite interesting. It's worth four or five minutes to talk to you about it. While it's Miami and not Peru, nevertheless, there is a connection. In 1921, a man immigrated from Latvia named Edward Lee Skalman, a little immigrant from that country. He had been jilted at the altar and left his country and came to the United States and went to a very sparsely settled section of Florida. At least, it was sparsely settled at that particular time. He said he wanted to get away from it all. Now, we have three clues here. I'm not going to try to interpret this today. I'll leave it up to you. But there are three things that make us very suspicious about this man and his activities. First of all, he was a very sensitive person.

Liked to live alone and work alone. Very sensitive. Secondly, he believed there was life on other worlds. The third point of interest is that he wrote papers on anti-gravity and magnetism. I'll try to illustrate those three things for you now. He started to build in this sparsely settled section of Florida. All kinds of rock items weighing many, many tons. And he did the work himself. They've never been able to figure out how he did it. Oh, he has a few old pulleys and a few chains around. But engineers say he never could have built these things with those things alone. And perhaps he's just showing those things to fool the public. However, he passed away some years ago and he isn't around to consult with now. But men used to come with enormous pieces of rock for him to work on trucks. And they'd say, Ed, why don't you let us stay around and see how you do it? How do you lift these things? And he said, no.

He said, I can't do that. I have to work alone. He said, you go down to the corner and have a cup of coffee and come back in about five minutes. And every time when they'd get back in just a few minutes, he'd have the whole truck unloaded. He only stood about five foot four and weighed 97 pounds. How did he move these blocks? Weighed many tons and did the carving and so forth. And he was able to do a tremendous amount of work in a short period of time. This is Miesch at what he called his moon pool. He liked to portray things from outer space. Know the tremendous size here of the objects. This is his moon, of course, and Saturn on the left. Now, to the left of Saturn, you will find what he called his Mars weighing many tons. And you'll notice that he planted in Mars a palmetto. So people asked him, Ed, why did you plant the palmetto in Mars? He said, well, that's a symbol because I believe there's life on Mars.

And so I had to put life on Mars here. They said, well, why do you say that? He said, well, I can't tell you, but I have good reasons to believe and to know that there's life on Mars. Also, when he was asked how he did this, he would say simply that he had learned. He said, let's just say that I have learned how they built the pyramids in Egypt. This doorway weighs over nine tons. He constructed it again all by himself. It has such a perfect center of gravity that a four year old child with a small finger can turn it. And it weighs nine tons. This is his giant obelisk, over 20 tons in weight. How did a man 97 pounds get that there? 20 tons in weight and over 25 feet high. Now, I want you to notice the carving, the way the stairs are carved. The carving technique is identical to the carving technique used in ancient South America.

But it does make us a bit suspicious. A man who was extremely sensitive had good reason to believe there was life on other worlds and wrote papers on anti-gravity and magnetism. Sorry our slides are so dark due to the light.

But I feel that you're able to see them somewhat anyway. We're now back in Peru in an area that's very difficult to reach. Therefore, very few photographs have ever been taken of this rock. This is called Sayuiti. This is the only rock like it in the world. Completely unique. It is pre-Inca because the Incas claimed that it was in the area when they first came to it. They didn't know what it was at all. When the Spanish came, they took the heads off most of the animal figures. And thereby, of course, almost completely ruined the stone. Scientists have said that they believe that this is a plan of a city. That the ancient people in stone carved their plan, because it shows little temples and houses and so forth, before they built their city. But this doesn't really hold up to investigation. First of all, they could have made the model in ceramics or in clay, much as they did in ancient Egypt. It would be a lot easier than carving half of that solid granite boulder.

Also, it is the only one in the world. And we know there are more ancient cities than one in the world. And so, therefore, it doesn't quite make sense that it is just a model of an ancient city. What was it used for? We have a few clues. Notice around the edge, holes that were used, again, to place those ropes to hitch or tie the sun.

This is directly in the center of an ancient temple. You notice the elevation. We're above everything else around us, practically. And this is in the very center of an ancient temple. And we believe it had something to do... with this hitching, again, of the sun. Notice here are holes where the ropes were placed. A jaguar hid above them. Here you find little canals. A miniature stairway going up to a temple. They portrayed every living animal and plant that existed at that time. Whether it was in the coastal areas, a thousand miles away to the west, or in the mountains. They portrayed crabs. They portrayed shrimp. Yamas. Monkeys. Everything. Again, our little stairway leading to the temple. Of course, we're seeing only a very, very small part of it here.

This is very near that rock, carved out of solid rock again. This is an ancient altar. Back of it, we find the point where the priests used to sit in the morning, looking out toward the west for the rising sun. We find three places in South America where there are these little stairs that Jessup talked about. I just showed you the first area near the fortress, where the stairs are located. This is the second area, and the third area is the city that existed before the moon. We find the small stairs there also, which we'll show you in just a bit. This is an ancient altar. Notice the stairs on the left. Don't you think this is all right, Dan? What do you think? It's a wider screen. It's higher, too. Put it up there, Dan, and see.

Now, going back to the fortress of Sacsayhuaman. I showed it to you before with nobody on it. You'll see toward the end of the slides, 50,000 people on it. Every year on June 24th, and this has been going on for century after century, the Incas hold what they call their Festival of the Sun, or the Inti Rhyme, exactly or almost the same as it was many centuries ago. Of course, they didn't have the automobiles then and so on. But otherwise, it is the same. I want to mention something that may only be a coincidence, but at the same time, it may not be, and it does seem rather strange. Let us remember that on June 24th, 1944, Kenneth Arnold saw the first UFOs which brought them in to public attention. Of course, they'd been seen before that, but that was the point where the public became interested and aware of the objects from outer space. Almost at the same moment Kenneth Arnold was seeing these objects over Mount Rainier on June 24th,

the Incas were holding their Festival of the Sun in Cusco. Also, almost on the same day, a little shepherd boy on the other side of the world discovered the Dead Sea Scrolls. It seems that about 1947, what we might call the secret places of the Most High began to be revealed on Earth at this time. Here we see the people beginning to congregate. Now, you'll notice some of my slides are dark and some are quite light. This was one of those days that every photographer fears because one moment you have almost no light for exposure at all and the next minute you have too much light. So I was alternating from opening and closing my camera up all the time and we had quite a bit of difficulty and even some rain. We're not going to be very good on our vertical slides, but no Coca-Cola's here. Maybe they're lucky. But we've got some gelatin and some fruit drinks there. See Mish here getting ready to watch the ceremonial.

These are some llamas that have been brought down from the mountains for the ceremonial. Of course, the llama is the South American camel, cousin of the camel in the East. Before the Sun Festival, the natives from all over the empire, of course, now it's a republic but formerly the Inca Empire, congregate and they give their own local dances in honor of the Sun Festival, just the same as they were many centuries ago. Skirts, by the way.

There are 17 or 18 to each woman's costume and they're all of homespun pure wool. You wouldn't want them on today. And you might say, well, that's June down there and it looks warm. Well, it isn't. That's their winter. And they need all those things. Skirts, believe me. You notice the people beginning to congregate on the fortress. These are called the devil dancers. They're very important to our discussion today, but we're not going to talk about them just yet, a little later. They are not Quechuas or descendants of the Incas. They're the Aymara Indians who mostly come from Bolivia. And they have come up in order to honor their cousins, the Quechuas, in this Sun Festival, the devil dancers.

This is the part of the ceremonial where the Inca emperor is brought in on his golden litter. And you'll see him here being brought in. By his bodyguards. And first of all, he is preceded by the high priests, the chosen women of the sun or the sun virgins, the nobles and princes of the realm, and then also by his own personal bodyguard, similar to the Praetorian guard of the old Roman Empire. This is quite an honored position. They just don't pick anybody. Of course, he's no longer really an emperor. But he must be a full-blooded Quechua Indian. He must speak Quechua perfectly. He must have been born in the area. If possible, a descendant of the original royal family. And he is elected to fulfill this position. He is here getting ready to give his kiss to the sun, as they call it. You'll notice on each side of the emperor are two poles. Actually, those are men inside those poles. And while they look still in the photograph,

they have a terrible time keeping those things from falling over. This is the emperor giving his kiss to the sun. If you ever see a statue someplace in the United States with this headdress on it, you'll know you've found lost Atahualpa. This is the emperor being taken out after the ceremonial. If you could have been there at the time Francisco Pizarro conquered the Incas, in fact, he tore Atahualpa from his golden litter when he captured the emperor, you would have had a scene before you just about what you're seeing now. We're going to take a trip now about 112 kilometers from Cusco and the Inca Festival of the Sun. We'll take a trip, a quick trip, around Machu Picchu because it's very, very important. This is the lost city of the Incas, Machu Picchu. And we are looking above the ruins toward the peak. The peak, Machu Picchu, which, of course, the city got its name from the peak. Originally, there was a tower on top of this peak where the Incas had their guards.

And in the center of the peak, we find a tunnel has been constructed by the pre-Incas through the entire top of the peak. This is the Temple of the Sun Virgins. Behind it is a cemetery where hundreds of skeletons have been found, but never the skeleton of a man. Therefore, the theory has developed that Machu Picchu was not a fortress, but was a convent for the chosen women of the sun or a training school. You'll notice in front of the temple and running down the hill, the terraces where they used to grow their crops. This is a Quechua Indian girl today at Machu Picchu in her native garb. A picture of the city, just part of it, of course, with the main plaza here in the center.

You'll notice in the center of the picture something that stands out like a sore thumb, so to speak. This is a great sun temple. You notice it's different in color, architectural style, and so forth. There's a reason for that. This is thousands upon thousands of years old. Everything that surrounds it is only about 500 years old and built by the Incas. We're going to take some close-up looks at this temple. I want you to notice the stairs in front of you. The Incas, or the pre-Incas, never moved any of the original rocks out of place. We get in with a bulldozer and we change everything. They left all the rocks in position and utilized them in their structures. They left this one and made a stairway out of it. You'll also notice that the temple has been placed on an original rock formation, beautifully joined into the original, one of the city gates leading into the temple area.

I'm going to show quite a few shots of the temple itself because it's a very important structure. Now, I want you to remember this scene when, toward the end of this series, I'm going to show you an Indian in the center of a fountain. As the morning sun comes up over the mountains in the east, it goes through this window and onto the altar in the temple. It also would strike any reflective surface like a disk on this doorway and be reflected back directly into the center of a fountain. And I want you to remember this scene when I bring that up again. There are four stone projections in the corner of this window. We believe these projections were the supports for a gigantic disk. Of course, not a disk of gold in this case, although gold is an excellent filtering agent. They never could have used it, of course, to pass the sun's rays. But we do believe they used quartz. Quartz lenses have been found off Colombia and Ecuador in the ocean.

And the ancient Egyptians used quartz lenses. So we believe that quartz lenses or some other material were placed there through which they brought the sun's rays as they came up over the mountains and down into the temple. The temple was never meant to have a roof. This is called the window of the setting sun because the sun, as it goes down in the west, goes directly through this window. And there are four, or six rather, stone projections here instead of the four. The other window you just saw is called the window of the rising sun. There are just two windows in the temple. We'll now come to the side and go through the main doorway. You'll just notice the altar on the inside there. Again, we find our holes. The same thing I've been showing you. Ropes passed through these holes, were anchored inside on a stone column that held an immense golden disc that covered that entire doorway. These stones are ingeniously put together.

Again, no mortar, but each stone works on the tongue and groove principle. And they lock together like a puzzle. You'll notice the altar in the background. Scientists have claimed that there are indications on top of this altar that tremendous fires with a great degree of temperature existed on this altar in the past or were placed there, but they claim bonfires alone never could produce such heat, which more or less supports our theory that quartz lenses were used because the sun being brought through such lenses could have been made to focus on the altar and could have brought about such heat. You'll see now on your right the two windows, the window of the setting sun, the window of the rising sun, the headrest and the footrest on the altar itself. These altars were not used for mummification. The Incas did not mummify. The climate dried the bodies. They did not preserve them. And also, they were not used for human sacrifice

because the Incas did not have human sacrifice. The Aztecs in Mexico did, but not the Incas of Peru. We're going to look at two slides now showing the walls, some of the walls of the temple. These are still very beautiful, but you'll notice they've been pitted and discolored down through the many centuries. You can try to picture them as they originally were. They're of white granite and were polished like glass. We're now above this temple. Notice it was never meant to have a roof. A very peculiar shape. The window, the altar, the main doorway here, and later I'll show you the fountain down here. Remember again, that sun comes through here and strikes off the doorway and into here. Notice the Urubamba River thousands of feet beneath the temple. These pictures were taken in the morning, very early in the morning before the sun had really come up over the mountains. On the right, you find the antechamber where the priests used to live.

You'll find that in ancient times, a priest was a scientist and vice versa. They did not divide science and religion as we do today because they felt that truth could not contradict truth, and that's quite so. So their temples were not just places of religious ceremonials or rituals, but also were actually scientific laboratories. We ask ourselves this question, which I asked you at the first part of this year, but I'm going to ask it again briefly. Did ancient man just worship the sun from a pagan and superstitious standpoint, because it was the greatest thing in the heavens and he bowed down and worshipped it, or the physical body of the sun? Or was there more to it than that? The ancients themselves claimed that they did not worship the physical body of the sun, but that it stood for many things. First of all, the heat of the sun stood for divine love. The light of the sun stood for divine wisdom. That's the philosophical concept,

but apparently we are learning that there was much more than that even behind it. They realized that certain forces, rays and so forth from the sun, when properly utilized through science and religion, through scientific experimentation and a complicated system of lenses and reflectors, could actually be used to heal their people and could be used for other things as well. Perhaps heating, perhaps to extend the period of the day with light, perhaps for cutting, there could be many things. I was able to get a young Quechua Indian, modern Quechua Indian, to pose on the altar in a few slides for us, to give us an idea how they might have been used. The young man waiting for the sun to come up in the morning, to come through that window for healing purposes or whatever they were going to use it for at that particular time.

The altar is living rock. It was not placed there, but they carved the living rock and built the temple around it. Now we have our sun. Notice the trapezoidal-shaped window makes a perfect rectangular block of light on the altar. The setting sun, that's why it's dark.

The sun is just setting in the west and throwing its light through this, the second window. I alternate by showing the model and then showing the sun.

Notice this opening here.

The doorway is just here. This is where the ropes came and were fastened around a stone pillar, which is still in there. It's too dark, you can't see it, but just about like the light is there. And that was the anchor point to hold the great disk. You'll notice also the stone support in the lower right corner of the window. This is just as the sun, the very second the sun came up over the mountains, the first rectangular block of light that was thrown there. This is getting ready to place the disk in position. Remember I told you about the fountain.

I want you to read... Bring back that picture that I told you about. We're just past the doorway. We're in the center of this, the last fountain, which is the 17th. There are 16 fountains beneath this one that run down the sides of the hill. Now, formerly scientists believed that these fountains were used by the many women of the city to come in the morning and get their water. And they had a lot of fountains so the husband wouldn't have to be waiting for his breakfast and the people could get to all these different fountains and get their water. However, they are too well made to be just water fountains. They're beautifully constructed. This is not just a hole, but a reservoir cut into the solid living rock. And they're too beautiful, which leads us to believe that they were ritualistic fountains which had a spiritual significance. Now, we can begin to reconstruct that. If you are on the bottom or toward the bottom of the mountain

and you get into the first fountain, you are receiving all of the debris or dirty matter of the 16 fountains above you. As you climb upwards, up the mountain toward the Sun Temple, each fountain becomes clear. It becomes clearer and cleaner. When you are in the last fountain, you are receiving pure, uncontaminated water.

[50:00] Inca, Aztec, and historical themes

Also, then, as you are receiving this pure, uncontaminated water on your body, just as the sun comes up over the mountains in the east, it goes off of the golden sun disk and directly back into the center of the fountain. In other words, you are bathed by sun and water at the same time or a baptism of fire and water. As we go underneath the temple, we find this structure. Directly under it, this is a subterranean vault that was used for the placing of the royal mummies. You can see the niches in the background. I want you to take particular attention of the magnificent way the pre-Incas fitted their own stonework into the living rock. These rocks were all originally there, and they added their own work, something Frank Lloyd Wright would be proud of. They didn't like to move natural things. They built around them. Now, notice the rather peculiar stairway. Or is it a stairway? It's not a stairway at all. It doesn't go anywhere.

Also, people that could carve in stone like this certainly could make their stairs straighter. Those stairs are crooked. Not very well made. It's believed that these were part of a solar observatory and that these served some astronomical purpose because of the angles there. This is called the King's Group at Machu Picchu

because of the fine structure of the buildings. This is called the Stairway of 150 Steps. We're going to go up that stairway. But first, we'll stop halfway and look up at Mish at the top. This is a very crude building.

I want you to recall the stonework of what I've just shown you, and then recall this. Look at this stonework. This is Inca, and what you've just seen is pre-Inca. This is pre-Inca. This is the famous Temple of the Three Windows at Machu Picchu, which has a connection with some ancient Inca legends of three brothers. Background, the stonework in the foreground,

completely different. Magnificent stonework. Just a few examples now of the old and the new. The pre-Inca on the left, the Inca on the right. Again, the same thing. The one on the left, thousands of years old. The one on the right, just a few centuries old. Again, the same thing. Fortunately, the Spanish never entered Machu Picchu, so they didn't destroy anything there. It was abandoned for four or five hundred years until it was discovered a few years ago. This picture is dark, but I want to use it to illustrate a point. This is the building we just saw, the crude building of the Incas. This is the Temple of the Three Windows, and this is called altogether the Sacred Plaza at Machu Picchu. I want to illustrate the coming of the sun down into these roofless temples. This is the principal temple. It was never meant to have a roof or a fourth wall. I'm going to show you why. As the sun came up over the mountains in the east

first thing in the morning, it could have been brought from lenses and reflectors from the main altar of the sun here, and then focused directly down into the roofless temple. This is that temple. Again, you can see it could have been brought from here into here. Bingham, the discoverer of Machu Picchu, believed, because we have big holes here, that a gigantic beam or post was placed here, and on this post hung a curtain, which made this structure similar to the old Hebrew tabernacle or the Holy of Holies, which was covered with a veil or a curtain. And inside, he believed, was the Holy of Holies of the Incas, covered by this outside shield or curtain. The pedestal where the high priest used to stand. The altar cut from one solid block of granite and the two side altars.

One of the walls of the temple. Beautiful work. Where the beam used to go to hold the curtain. The outside of that temple. And as we walk down here, we're going to go in a little temple here, but first I'm going to show you a stone in front of it. These stones, left in their original position, were carved by the pre-incas. They call them sundials. Of course, they're not really sundials. Nobody knows what they were. And you find them all over South America. We're inside that little temple now. This doesn't look like much, but it's quite remarkable. It's one building block of 32 angles. I have felt for some time that the entire UFO field

would soon have to move in to sort of a different phase, or a scientific phase, we might say. We've all heard quite a bit about sightings. And while we're still interested, yet there are so many other things that fit into it. Dr. Jessup said that he believed that the background of the UFO was the background of humanity. And if that's so, and I firmly believe that it is, then there's so many things that are going to be connected. We're going to leave Machu Picchu for just a moment. We'll return again. We're going to go up to the top of the mountain that you're looking at. That's much higher than Machu Picchu. That's Huayna Picchu. And in 1957, I climbed to the top of Huayna Picchu. You'll notice the ruins and the terrace is on top. Another little city. Another little city on top. I never wanted to go up there again. But I got there this year. Mish said, I hope you're not going up there again this year. I'd worry about you going up there.

And I said, no, I went already. I have no interest to go back. And then some native boys told me that they had just found, in clearing some brush up there, they discovered some new things. So I went back up again. In the next slide, you will be here looking down at this. That's Machu Picchu down there from the top of Huayna Picchu. See, we're above some clouds even. The boys told me that while they were clearing away debris, they found a tunnel. And this tunnel goes through the entire top of that mountain. And as we came out the other side, I took this picture as we came out and went up the stairs. You'll notice they've just recently been cleared of debris because they're quite damp and covered with weeds and so on. Now, this also doesn't look like much, but we're on the other side of the mountain. The earlier discoverers of Machu Picchu found what they called the Tomb of the Princess up here, and I always had wanted to see it.

But it's very, very dangerous to reach. You have to go to the top of the mountain and then halfway down the other side. You cannot start at the bottom on the other side because it's sheer granite up to the tomb. The discoverers of the tomb said that, unfortunately, while it was the most beautiful piece of pre-Inca stonework ever discovered, it was in the most inaccessible place. Therefore, you're going to see what only four or five people have ever looked upon, and only one other photograph has ever been taken. This is a boulder in the way, so you can't get a good picture, but if you stepped off of these narrow stairs, you'd drop nearly 3,000 feet into the Urubamba River Gorge, and it was raining and rather wet when we were up there. So I got down and I sat from one step to the other. And these stairs are carved from one single rock mass, 42 continuous stairs. As you come down off of the stairway and round a corner, you come to this temple.

You can see it's never been excavated. And then we walked down through the temple, through the doorway, around the corner, until we came to this cave. And I thought, oh goodness, we probably haven't, we're not in the right area at all. We've overshot or we've missed it somehow. And then we looked to our left, and we found the tomb of the princess. Of course, it's not known if the princess was buried here or not, but because of the fine work, undoubtedly it was some emperor or some important personage. The mummy used to be here, with golden offerings on the side. Notice how they fitted their own stonework into the ceiling. There have been many earthquakes in this area during thousands of years, and yet those stones have never moved. Some are so perfectly joined that when you're close up to them, you can hardly see where they have been joined. This is in front of the cave area. Also you can see it's just been uncovered

from the debris. And this is called the Temple of the Moon. We're now back in Machu Picchu. We're going up the stairs toward that highest of all, the main sun altar called the Intiwatana, the hitching place of the sun. And this is it. The Spanish were never there, so it has never been destroyed. The stairs in front of you carve from one single granite mass, and the altar behind you carve from one single living granite boulder. This is Nish wearing a typical Indian costume of the women of the area. It's remarkable because if you ever look at certain pictures of Tibet from certain areas of Tibet, you will find women wearing exactly the same costume, same hat, so on. As we move along this evening, or this afternoon, I'm going to show you other indications that there is an oriental connection with South America. This is myself on top of the same altar. Now I'm going to show you a few quick shots of various angles of the altar.

Notice the stone projection on the back. Ropes were fastened here that held us to the golden sun disk on the altar itself. Notice the peculiar shape of it. Why did they go to such great lengths to carve it in all these fantastic shapes? Many angles. Notice the beautiful Andean peaks behind the mountain range. I think one of the most beautiful spots on earth is Machu Picchu. It's absolutely glorious. If you stepped off the front of the altar there, you'd drop another 3,000 feet straight down. This is too small to be a seat, too high to be a stairway. What is all of this? A solar observatory of some kind. Now this is very much higher above the city. Remember I told you there are altars around the city. And we believe that these altars contained gigantic disks. And these brought the sun's light in and focused them down in through lenses and reflectors down into the temples themselves. You'll notice a stairway here and on the left another projection

with a hole where ropes were placed again to hold a disk here. You'll notice this cut-out area. And that's a great scooped-out area that held a gigantic disk. They look like silos or something. However, these are called, and they have a very romantic name, the tulpas of Silasdani, which means the tombs of Silasdani. They were there when the Incas came through. And the Incas raided the tombs and robbed them. This is the entrance to the tomb area. In the foreground you will find one that was never completed, just the foundation started, the most unusual and unique tombs in the entire world. When the Incas came through, they stopped long enough to build their tombs. You'll notice their tomb on the left. A lot different than these, aren't they? These tombs are thousands upon thousands of years old. When the person of nobility died who was to be placed in this tomb, an enormous area was excavated lined with fine stonework.

Golden images were placed in there, magnificent pieces of textiles, ceramics, and then the tomb was literally built around the dead person. There were no doorways and no windows into it, which was a good protection. But when the Incas came, they had to tear these down almost stone by stone to get into them. It's one thing to do the stonework we've been showing you, friends, but it's another thing to put such stones in the round as you see here. Magnificent ancient stonework and many thousands of years old. Nis is looking out over the lagoon where the Incas claimed was I suppose it's still there. This is a little temple. It was never completed. We believe this was going to be used for mummies to be placed in a state of lying in wait for their tomb or something like that. This is one of the little native boys of the area. And this is the Inca example. Not much compared to what I just showed you. I told you it would show a little bit

of human interest. Remember I told you about the devil dancers who came up to Cusco for the Festival of the Sun? Well, this is their village. This is Lake Titicaca called Ichu. These are the Aymara Indians and every year on June 29th they celebrate their fiesta of St. Peter and Paul. Of course the ceremony goes back into antiquity and simply because that date happens to fall on the fiesta of St. Peter and Paul they call it that today. But it's much more ancient than that. They get in front of their little Dolby church and perform their devil dances and other dances. These are very, very remarkable people. They have guarded legends as well that claims that they came a long time ago that they migrated to Peru from China. But what is the evidence? We find that their native work today in shoes, ropes, and dress work is identical with ancient Chinese work. We find they are physically similar to the Chinese to a startling degree.

We find that many of their dances are identical to the dances of Buddha. And we find that many of their words in the Aymara tongue are absolutely identical to Chinese. Which are like the hats the men wear in Korea. They never wear them anymore because they're afraid they'll be ridiculed. But the hats are definitely oriental in nature. You've heard of the dragon masks of China brought out for New Year's celebrations and so forth. This is not from China. This is a devil dance mask from Peru. You see the great similarity. Notice the eyes and the horns and the structure of the devil. We have the same thing here. It's not very clear. The eyes, horns, the same face. This is shown to the courtesy of Manly Palmer Hall at the Philosophical Research Society. This is a page from a Mayan codex. This is an original in the Manly Palmer Hall collection. From, of course, Yucatan, Mexico. We see the similarity here between the mask I showed you from South America

the mask from the Orient the Chinese mask from the Orient and this from Yucatan, Mexico. What is this lovely Chinese dragon doing in Yucatan, Mexico? Also, what are these three wheels of Buddha? Perfect wheels of Buddha. The Buddha wheel of eternity or immortality. What are they doing on this temple in Mexico? Many oriental connections with South America. This idol we discovered in 1957. There's more to it. We're seeing only the top third. But it is actually covered with many copper plates. And on these copper plates we find Japanese characters. As we came back from the tombs I saw the flags were up on the mountain. So we knew that the devil dancer in the background here was getting ready to put on a ceremonial. So I wanted to get a good close-up picture of the devil dancer. Very, very handsome devil too and almost got away with my wife

as you can see here. Just a few slides now to illustrate a point. The idol you just saw is not in the field in Peru. Sometimes you make your best discoveries in these little museums back in some dusty corner. This we found in the little museum, the Municipal Museum of Puno, Peru. We're going to show you now in a few moments the slides of the city that existed before the moon. We found evidence here up in Peru that this empire had existed there as well. Because the hieroglyphics, everything about the stonework here is identical to what we're going to show in just a few moments. A great and ancient empire existed in the area of Lake Titicaca, some thousands of years ago. This is a pre-Inca vase, many thousands of years old and is very valuable. Simply because very few ceramic pieces have come down to us from that time. You'll notice that there is a puma head in the center of this vase in relief. And also, there are geometric and animal forms surrounding it.

This is on a vase, but almost identical to what you're going to see on a carved gateway in just a few moments. We believe this vase represents actually a counting calendar. These all look symmetrical and even, but the animals and the geometric forms are all different, which could be used for a counting calendar system. The Aymara Indian women are quite different. They always can be identified by their little bowler hats. We're now going to cross Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world, nearly 13,000 feet above sea level. As we cross the lake, we come across some very strange people. These people are strange for many reasons. First of all, they never come to shore. They receive all of their clothing, as you see the man here in, their salt, their sugar, by people coming out to get their fish that they catch. And then these traders take them back to the villages on the shore to sell. The people want nothing whatsoever to do

with mankind. Well, they claim they have nothing to do with mankind at all, that they were on the earth before God created man. They also call themselves the Uros, R-O-S. And they have given themselves that name, they claim, because they are descended from Ur of the Chaldees in the time of Abraham in the Bible. I don't know if that's true or not, but that's their story. The Uros Indians. They are also unique because they live on islands. Well, that's not so strange, but they refuse to live on natural islands. They build their own floating islands made of reeds. And we pass this man. He's taking some new reeds that he's just gathered in the lake. He's taking them to his island home to prepare the island. And here is the island out in Titicaca. A completely man-made floating island containing many homes and Indians. These Indians are very shy. As soon as they see a camera, they will run from you. There's only one man left,

over a hundred years old, who still speaks the original Uros language. Notice the woman putting her hand up. She doesn't want her picture taken. And this lady reluctantly agreed, finally, to pose with me after we promised we'd send some men back with a bag of salt for her. How complicated your lives are, ladies. If all you had to worry about was a bag of salt, it would be so much easier, wouldn't it? We have stories. I don't know how true they are, but it's claimed that there are many deformed Uros physically because of intermarriage. They live on these small islands. Brothers are marrying sisters and cousins and so forth. And we have quite a few deformed physically. But you never see a deformed Uros. And the story goes that when they see visitors or strangers coming to their islands, they jump in the water, they look up through the water, and they breathe a reed tube, and they wait until the strangers have gone to come up again.

But you never see a deformed Uros, although there are supposed to be some. I had to examine the boat.

She looks like one of the little people. Looks like something out of the Orient, doesn't it? It's one of the Uros balsa rafts and boats. There are many strange things about Lake Titicaca, many enigmas that have never been explained.

We're moving on to one of those now. At last we reach the point where we're going to view some ruins of the city that existed before the moon. I owe much to Dr. Gregorio Miranda, the director of the National Museum in La Paz, Bolivia, the capital of Bolivia, because he gave us permission to take the first photographs of the new excavations at Tiahuanaco. Perhaps some of you have heard of the ancient city Tiahuanaco, claimed to be the most ancient city in the world. And this is our city that existed before the moon. We are now just a few miles from the shore of Lake Titicaca at about 13,000 feet above sea level. At Tiahuanaco we find the most remarkable remains are located in what's called the Puerta del Sol, or the Doorway of the Sun, which science is now realizing is a great calendar gate of a most ancient civilization. And this is the Doorway of the Sun. It is carved from one single block of stone. The stone is one of the world's hardest

and the site. To carve this stone it would be like carving glass. This is an immensely old and sharply preserved stone. On it we find an extraordinary sequence of intricate, symbolical carvings. For years, scientists have asked three questions about this gateway. What is the meaning of the symbols on it? To what period of human history do they belong? And what have they to tell us about the past? Friends, the answers are coming out on these questions and they're well, they're fantastic. You notice the central figure. It looks rather sad, doesn't it? Something terribly tragic about that face. Perhaps you'd be sad too if you looked down on 100,000 years of history. The pedestal of the figure, and then you'll notice there is a meander that runs under the pedestal. And it encloses eleven other heads similar to the large one, making a total of twelve. A total of twelve. The theory is now held that the monuments and great sacred edifices

of Tiahuanaco date back to a time 100,000 years ago when another moon, older than the moon we now know, was spiraling inward towards the earth and to destruction. In the Tiahuanaco carvings we find a great calendar, one which recorded the phases of the day and night and the seasons, as these of course were observed by our remote ancestors just before the collapse of the pre-lunar satellite caused worldwide catastrophe. You'll notice the winged figures on the left and the right. Winged men here, and winged birds or condors here. And men again. It's believed by astronomers and mathematicians who are studying this calendar gate that these represent the eclipse cycles of the ancient satellite. The central figure represents the autumnal equinox. The figure directly beneath it, the vernal or spring equinox. And the figures at each end, left and right of the calendar gate, representing the winter and summer solstice. Again we find

the meander enclosing the heads. Each head representing a month, of course, of the year. Notice, surrounded by a halo, and while they appear symmetrical at first glance, when you really examine them, they contain completely different symbols. We find here represented a flying fish. What in heaven's name is a flying fish, which is a very delicate fish, which lives in tropical warm seas, doing 13,000 feet above sea level in the highest altiplano in the world. Notice the break. This doorway remained for thousands of years perfect. A few years ago, somebody decided they wanted to move it over and make it an entrance to a cemetery, and they broke it. You can see that the break is new. This is the back of that gateway. Just some of the beautiful carvings from Tiwanaku from the temples. They loved the cross, and also the spiral. This also used to be in conjunction with the gateway of the sun. But they also moved it, and this one they successfully moved and made a

doorway to their cemetery. This is the gateway of the moon, again one solid block of andesite, with carvings on the top, which relates to the calendar. We're now looking across at the main

ruins. Actually, friends, there's not much of Tiwanaku yet to look at, because most of it is still underground. This is the doorway of the sun, looking from the doorway of the moon. And this is the extent of the ancient temple. This looks like a low hill. Actually, that's an open pyramid that has never been excavated. We're going to take the temple wall by wall. This is called the western, or balcony, gate. Some of them are knocked down now, so don't count them. You won't find eleven there, but there are eleven. Supports, which of course originally supported a gigantic wall. There's something very interesting about these columns. They are all of a different size, and the distance between each one is different also. It is therefore believed that as the ancient satellite spiraled inward towards the earth, the ancient scientists from the center of the temple were able to observe the coming of the satellite and its rising between

each of the columns. There are eleven columns, which also indicates that this is so. This is the eastern wall with the main gateway into the temple. This is covered with a limestone or tufa layer, which indicates that all of the ruins were underwater after the catastrophe for thousands of years before they were released from the water and to our view again. This is one of the monoliths of the temple. This is the northern wall of the temple, and I am sorry to say it is partially reconstructed, and it's a very bad job. I don't favor reconstruction of ancient temples, because we lose most of the original dimensions when we do it. There is the calendar gate again. The calendar gate in the corner. Now follow the light, and you'll see the extent of the original temple. An immense, enormous temple called the Temple of Kalasasia, and these pits in the center are the new government excavations. This is a pit,

and this is a very important discovery that was made just before we got there, and we got the first pictures of it. It's still half in the ground. It hasn't been completely dug out yet, as you can see. It's important because of the carvings on it, which give us a better understanding of the calendar itself. In other words, the calendar has been continued here on the idols of the temple. This doesn't look like much, but it's very important. We're in the very center, or the Holy of Holies, the Sanctum Sanctorum of the Temple of Kalasasia. This rock had to be quarried hundreds of miles away, so we know that it was a sacred rock and was placed in the Holy of Holies. Formally, the gateway of the sun was on this side and the gateway of the moon on this side. And from this Holy of Holies and through those calendar gates, they were able to make scientific notations on the approach of the great satellite. The Tiwanakans loved the little stairways

that Jessup spoke of, and they liked the little doorway, too. Sometimes actual doorways, and sometimes just a representation as you see here. This is in the temple, one of the fallen monoliths. Another one of the monoliths. Similar in certain respects, not exactly, but in certain respects to those of Easter Island. This one was called by the Spanish the Friar. You notice some people carved their names. Mish taking her

drawings and notes on the calendars. Now just some of the monoliths that surround the city. Gigantic in size. That one's about 30 feet high. A little gateway, and to the right, the railroad that runs to the capital of Bolivia today, La Paz. Remember I told you about the hill? It was an open pyramid. Here's just part of it sticking out, some up there. A few years ago, 25 feet below the surface here, they discovered very ancient fossilized human skulls. And these fossilized human skulls of great age were found in connection with the remains of the Toxodon. Perhaps some of you don't know what a Toxodon is. Well, it used to be a great ground sloth, like a ground sloth, and scientists believe it became extinct in tertiary times, long before man ever appeared on the Earth. But here we find human remains found with Toxodon remains, which is another geological or paleontological evidence that Tiahuanaco is of tremendous age.

Here are our little stairs again, only inches high this time. Little ritual or ceremonial stairways. Notice the interesting symbol on the head of the priest at Tiahuanaco. Some distance from Tiahuanaco, we find another place, which is smaller but of equal if not greater importance, called Pumapunku, which means the gateway of the tiger. This picture does not do it justice, friends. I was shocked when I saw the picture, because those are blocks enormous in size and weighing many tons each. When the ancient flood or catastrophe came, the walls of this sacred temple were caved in or knocked in, just as you see them here. This is a close-up of the gateway at Pumapunku, another calendar system. But you'll notice it's different, because it has little holes between all of the carvings. And we know that formerly, solid gold was placed in between these carvings. It must have been extremely beautiful. And the gold plates were fastened by golden nails into

these little holes. When the Spanish came, they tore it all off. And now, one of our actual gateways. Notice the small size. You can tell it's small because of the ballpoint pen here. The cross, a hundred thousand years ago. It certainly was not invented by the Christians. And we see a cross on this old gentleman here, but I must admit that is not a hundred thousand years old. That was placed there by the Spanish priest when they tried to make a Christian out of this old pagan. But he's still there, and they're not. Also, we find on this ancient stonework the absolute evidence that the Spanish priest passed through this area. Now, this is our last slide on Tiwanaku, but we're going to take the slides away, and I'm going to take about ten more minutes in an attempt to bring this to some kind of a conclusion for you. Because it requires quite an explanation, and we can't leave the slides in the projector for that length of time.

This doesn't look like anything at all, but perhaps the most important slide I've shown you yet, as far as Tiwanaku is concerned. This is the strand line of an ancient tropical sea, giving us more geological evidence of the great age of Tiwanaku. Tiwanaku, in its last days, was actually an island in the tropical sea. This is the shoreline, or the beach of that island. We're now toward the edge of the city. They have found here fossilized flying fish, other fish now extinct, and shells, which indicates that this was a sea. They have also found in here stone docks and wharves, showing where boats used to be moored. And of course, they wouldn't be mooring boats 13,000 feet above sea level. This was, then, a tropical city and a tropical sea.

Now, I never like to read

anything in a lecture. I think you should be able to give a lecture without reading anything. But, frankly, this lecture, I found when I was writing it, is such a difficult one to give without reading something, that it would be well-nigh impossible to do it. In Florida, I always give my test lectures in Florida, because it's the first place I lecture coming back from Peru. I read what I'm going to read to you, and asked them if they felt it was necessary to an understanding of the slides or the lecture. And they said, yes, they felt if I hadn't read that, that they would have gone away with a very incomplete feeling about the whole talk. So, it's only going to take just very few minutes, four or five minutes, and I do feel that it's important. There is a book, if you're interested, in Tiwanaku, from what we've been saying today, I would suggest that you get three books. Two of them, I know, are in all the libraries. One is,

well, not all the libraries, but the big ones anyway, one is called Moons, Mists, and Man, perhaps some of you have read it, by H.S. Bellamy. H.S. Bellamy, Moons, Mists, and Man. He gives the legends here that he has found throughout the world that indicates, formally, there was another moon. Also, another book by H.S. Bellamy called Built Before the Flood. That one, I know, is out of print, but I think you can get it in the libraries. His latest book, written with the English mathematician and astronomer Peter Allen, is called Calendar of Tiwanaku. It's a very difficult book. You better look through it before you buy it, if you're going to buy it, because it's rather technical. I've read it three or four times myself, and I'm still lost. But, it has many plates on Tiwanaku, and is important. It's a reference book. It's not just to be read. However, I'm going to give you some of my thoughts, which I've written down. I could never memorize all these

things, from that book. Which really, I feel, are the most important points. There was a scientist some years ago called Arthur Poznanski, who was working with the calendar of Tiwanaku. He was absolutely unable to explain the strange number 290, or the number of symbols in the halos. 12 months, and 290 symbols. He tried to reconcile the number 290 with the number of days in our own year. Of course, he got terribly mixed up. He never could understand how, or why, they had only 290 days in their year at that time. He never could figure it out. His ill success, however, was due to the thought tool, or the theory, which he employed. It was out of date, and therefore absolutely unsuitable. Edmund Kiss, a German, was the first to recognize that the calendar of Tiwanaku is not a calendar of our own world at all. By that, I don't mean one in outer space. It's the same planet we're on today, but a planet. Our world, then, was under

entirely different circumstances. One of a world which is infinitely older, and in many ways altogether different than our present world. He found it describes a year that had the indicated length at the time when the calendar was established. That it refers to various astronomical events and phenomena that happened in the course of that year. That, indeed, it is based upon the motion in the heavens of a cosmic body which existed then, but which exists no more now. That the solution of the calendar must not be attempted with means that are out of date. In short, that the calendar can only be made to speak in intelligently and intelligently if our considerations are based upon the revolutionary teachings of the famous Austrian astronomer Hans Horbiger. Now, I'm going to tell you in one or two sentences the cosmological theory of Horbiger, which is identical in many ways to the theories that have been brought out in various contexts with space intelligences

during the past few years. That's why it's of interest to us. The Horbiger cosmological theory states the cosmic space is not absolutely vacuous, but is filled with a material medium which, though extremely tenuous, is yet able to offer resistance to bodies moving in it. Hence, the orbits of planets cannot constitute reentering curves, ellipses, but will rather be finely wound elliptical inward-tending spirals. This orbital involution will naturally be smaller for bigger, and greater for smaller planets. This follows, excuse me, from this follows that any smaller outer planet will eventually trespass into the gravitational field of its bigger inner neighbor. In consequence, satellites are not the children of their primaries, but smaller brothers and sisters that have been forced into vastillage. It is therefore logically fully supportable that before our present moon was acquired, another satellite swung round our Earth. The orbital

involution which had cost this satellite its original planetary independence naturally did not come to an end with its capture. Eventually, it brought the satellite very near to our Earth, so near finally that it became disrupted and its fragments fell down on our planet. During its approach, the gravitational pull of the satellite gathered the oceans of our Earth more and more into the tropical belt. Finally, they formed a rather narrow water girdle which encircled our planet, called the girdle tide. Horbiger calculated the orbit and general behavior of a hypothetical satellite of this kind in August 1927, and sent reports of his work to various astronomers throughout the world. In 1928 and 9, Kiss visited the Tiahuanaco ruins and shortly afterwards began his studies of the calendar problems. He soon came to the conclusion that this was a counting calendar. That is, that each of its manifold symbols would have to be counted as one unit

irrespective of any other meaning that might also attach to them. The results of such a count are, and this is very important, there are 290 symbols around the 12 heads and 157 other symbols in what may be called the solar year part of the calendar sculpture. Therefore, there are 447 plus symbols to be accounted for. These figures reminded Kiss of Horbiger's calculations of the behavior of his hypothetical satellite at various distances from the Earth. For a center to center distance from Moon to Earth of 5.9 terrestrial radii, Horbiger had calculated that the satellite would have to revolve around the Earth 447 times a year. The solar year at that time, according to Horbiger, would consist of 290 plus days, the speed of the terrestrial rotation having been slowed down by the breaking effect of the tides controlled by the satellite. These very remarkable close correspondences between the number of symbols on the calendar sculpture

and the number of lunations in days, as calculated by Horbiger, caused Kiss to make the attempt to base his further research into the calendar problems on the Horbiger theory of satellites. Horbiger himself, of course, had nothing to go by except his own theoretical assumptions, but it is certainly most remarkable that he arrived at a year of 290 plus days, comprising 447 lunations. He knew only as much of the Tiahuanaco Gateway as any man with a liberal education might generally know at that time, but he certainly knew nothing at all of its details and implications, and he never had visited Tiahuanaco. At a distance of 5.9 terrestrial radii, the age when Tiahuanaco flourished as a harbor city situated in the girdle tide, the satellite was calculated to move around the Earth once every 19.6 hours. That's, of course, now Horbiger's calculation, 19.6. While the length of the day was established at 29.4 hours, according to the calendar of Tiahuanaco,

the satellite's lunation period was about 19.5 hours. 19.5, says the calendar, 19.6, said the scientist. Very close. The length of the day was 30 hours. Horbiger said 29.4. Shortly after this time, which of course may have extended over centuries, Tiahuanaco was lost, evidently overwhelmed by the waters of the girdle tide. At the bottom of these waters, in a quiet fjord, the great ruins lay while the satellite kept approaching, till it moved around the Earth perhaps between 900 and 1,000 times per year, the day ever decreasing till it reached its present length. Eventually, at a center-to-center distance of two terrestrial radii, the satellite reached critical distance, it broke up, and its fragments fell on the Earth, probably in a rather small and well circumscribed area in a short but sharp final cataclysm. Then, the waters of the girdle tide flowed off to the north and south in a great flood, because their gravitational

master was no more, and the Earth gained practically its present aspect. Tiahuanaco, from being a city at sea level, and for a time even below sea level, was suddenly elevated to its present height of nearly 13,000 feet, the highest altiplano in the world. In just two or three sentences, our proofs. We have several anthropological, geological, paleontological, astronomical, mathematical, quite a few. We find, again I say, that Tiahuanaco is covered with a limestone deposit, indicating it was under water for thousands of years. We find the flying fish carved on the gateway itself. We find the remains of the flying fish, indicating a tropical sea. We also find the strandlines, docks, and wharfs where ancient ships used to moor, again indicating a harbor city. We find extinct fossil fish and shells, again indicating, and we find the taxodon head itself carved on the gateway, and we find the taxodon remains actually found with human remains at Tiahuanaco.

I believe, friends, that the maker are the makers of the calendar. The mastermind who devised its many signs and symbols and who so ingeniously grouped them together, and who incorporated a wealth of astronomical information of that particular time into the gate, I believe that this mastermind or minds knew what was eventually going to happen to Tiahuanaco. Perhaps the people didn't, but I believe the scientists of the time knew that. So we might ask ourselves this question. Did they reason, then, that the world might still survive and that man might emerge triumphantly from the ruin and therefore carve this record in imperishable stone as a monument, which to find the ages might eventually be found in its writing ready? We find, friends, that Tiahuanaco is a world of the past whose existence has hardly even been guessed before. We now come to this point. What do UFOs have to do with all of this? If anything, we find

all over South America legends and stories that could indicate UFOs. Some may and may not. Others are very obvious references to space visitation. For instance, the Incas speak of the Rampa Liviak, which means the litters of electric energy. They also speak of the flying moons and the flying eagles, which I think are the same thing. When the Chaskis, the runners for the emperor, used to go along the royal road of the Incas, very often they would report to their captain or superior officer on the way stations along that they had seen these litters of electric

[01:35:00] Audience questions and discussion

energy going through the sky. Also, we find in the ancient chronicles two very interesting accounts of the litters of electric energy. At the time, when the emperor Atahualpa was brought out into the plaza at Cajamarca to be executed by Pizarro, you all know the story, remember he put his mark on the wall of the room and said, I will fill this with gold and silver if you will save my life. Well, he did do it and Pizarro did not keep his bargain and executed the emperor. But at the time of the execution, one of these Rampa Liviaks, or litters of electric energy, came down very low over the plaza and circled it. A few years before that, say the chronicles, as the emperor the father of Atahualpa was dying in the royal palace at Cusco, another litter of electric energy came down low over the palace and circled it. I don't know why, but there seems to be a pattern. We find very often UFOs show up at births and at deaths.

Just why, I don't know. So the idea of space visitation we find in legends throughout South America. The natives in the interior believe in the great road in the sky that came in the past, and over this road from the other side of the sky came sky dwellers who attempted to warn them of an impending catastrophe. Coming back now to Tiwanaku, I found that the present villagers, who are the Aymara Indians we've been talking about, they live about a mile from the ruins in their own village of mud and straw today, that if you go out with them in the evening, you might say, well, it's a very beautiful moon. And they'll look at the ground and say, yes, it's a beautiful moon, but they'll never look up at it. They have a deadly fear of the moon and any sky phenomenon. Why? It's a very peculiar thing. We have a friend who's been doing some work at Tiwanaku for the last two years, and she told me when I was down there this year

that one night she was out with several natives, and suddenly eight or nine UFOs showed up directly over and hovering over the temple of Kalasasia I've been showing you here. And they stayed in evidence for some minutes. She said they were like gigantic mirrors or disks. And she said to the natives, look, what's that? And they said, well, that's or something like that, but they never looked up. Never. Not one of them. They are afraid of the moon. Why? Is it possible this is a racial memory of the time when a former moon destroyed their civilization? Or Tiwanaku? Maybe, maybe not. But they have a deadly fear of sky phenomena. At the present time, the gateway of Tiwanaku is in danger of being completely destroyed. The government of Bolivia is conducting excavations there, but I don't like to say it. I won't mention any names. But the man who's been placed in charge of the excavations is bringing out many beautiful golden things, valuable

wings, and also broken pottery. He's saving all the broken pottery. I saw what he had, mounds of that. He's saving that for the government. Everything else he's selling to Berlin or London. Unfortunately, and that's always been true of South American politics, it is too good. Politics anywhere, I guess, isn't too good, but it's especially bad in South America. And everything else is strictly on a materialistic basis. He's an archaeologist, but he has no interest in these things. He couldn't undo what he's doing. Also, we find that vandals and others are carrying away the gateway piece by piece. The most precious monument of man's mind, I think, that exists anywhere in the world, at least above water, we don't know what's underwater, probably a lot more, but is in great danger. H.S. Bellamy and other scientists, I understand, are now attempting to go before the United Nations in an attempt to save the gateway. Let us look back now for a moment

to those last days at Tiwanaku. They must have been terribly tragic as the moon became larger and larger, observed through the columns of the temple. It would make a tremendous motion picture. It's too bad the mill isn't about to do it. It needs 50,000 people and so forth. But it would be a terrific picture. So we can get an idea of that time. They had distress amongst nations. They had celestial destruction impending. A time very similar to what we might be going through now. And today we find we have our already heralded earthquakes in diverse places, our wars and rumors of wars. I feel, however, friends, that all of this is going to be turned into a glorious achievement for man on earth. I do not feel that man on earth is going to be cheated out of his last great celestial achievement, and that is the conquest, or not really the conquest, but the entry into outer space. Also we find that the promises of all time tell us that man

will also do this. That he will have his day under the sun. I feel that out of present world crisis then will emerge a new and better tomorrow. Always toward the end of the last few moments of my lectures, I say that after all, it is interesting to look at stones and ancient cities and talk about UFOs and these things. It excites our interest, and we like to delve into these things. But after all, it is not the most important thing. Whether UFOs exist or not is not going to be too important to any of us, I don't think, because they exist or they don't, and our thinking isn't going to change it. And whether we believe there was another moon or Tiwanaku is 100,000 years old isn't too important either. There are many more important things than that, and I feel those things are the spiritual ramifications to all of this. You will notice I didn't say the religious ramifications, but the many spiritual ramifications. We find that it is written of our

time that the Lord shall roar out of Zion, the heavens and the earth shall shake, but the Lord will be the hope of his people and the strength of his children. The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining. A picture very similar to what could have happened also at the time of Tiwanaku. Now I want to mention this because people sometimes have asked me after a lecture, oh goodness, I guess that means that if satellites always spiral inward and go to destruction, why that means our moon is going to do that. Well, if Horbiger is right, that will happen. But it will be many, many thousands of years in the future. Because our moon is a considerable distance from the earth, and that would take a long time before that would happen. So you can forget about that. It's not going to harm you at all. We find that the prophet Joel tells us in speaking of our particular age, that there are now multitudes in the

valley of decision. And one of our great American poets once said, only once to every man and nation comes the moment to decide. Maybe also, friends, only once to every planet comes the moment to decide. I think we are indeed in the valley of decision at this time. We find many of God's promises, and they are either true or God is a liar. And I don't think any of us think he's a liar. So therefore, the promises of all time, of man's entry into a new and glorious age, I believe will take place. We find, I think, one of his greatest promises in Isaiah, where Isaiah speaks of the terrible destruction that will take place. He goes on for chapter after chapter. You're all quite familiar, I think, with that. Then he says, but ye, my children, shall go out with joy and be led forth with peace. The mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. A very beautiful promise.

So friends, when we've all finished our talking and our writing and our lecturing and all the rest, because the human being likes to do a lot of talking, and we like a lot of controversy and a lot of debate and calling somebody a liar, or maybe they're not a liar, they are telling the truth and so forth, we like our controversy and our talking. When all of this is finished and our speech making is done, there is still only one answer to our salvation and one answer to all of this, and that is our Creator. So I say to you what I always say at the end of a lecture, and that is, go home today and walk with your Creator and keep in step with your brothers and sisters in the rest of the universe. And follow the most ancient advice, and that is be still and know that I am God. Also, remember the promise. Fear not when you see these great changes come upon the earth, for it is only your promised salvation that draweth nigh.

Thank you.

...of its operation, it's moving at eighteen and a half miles per second. We know nothing about its movement sitting right here quietly. On the other is a hundred and sixty-two miles or so, which is the orbit side. Makes nearly six hundred million miles round the sun in one year. So you see, the speeds are terrific, yet we know nothing of them. And the power that moves a planet of this size and a planet like Jupiter, which is eleven times bigger than the earth, and all of them are moving the same way by the same force. So you might say, it's God's power because man doesn't make that power. God made it. Man didn't. Man only is now observing it, and all planets behave according to that law and moving in perfect harmony and it's up to man to recognize this law and move accordingly. And when he does, he'll be like the spacemen then too, because they recognize the law as a result, like the Bible says, there's nothing hidden but what should not be revealed.

They live by the law. God revealed it unto them. They harness it and build what we might say artificial planet and utilize the same power that moves all other planets and all bodies in space, including man on each planet. And they can move through space from planet to planet and enjoy, you might say, in the sense of their own father's kingdom, because we're all children of the same creator. That's right. So you see, there is a power. Now, as you stated before, Christ's power, yes, the Christ is a real thing that emanates out of the Father which, you might say, promotes the body, supports the body, and gives it life. See? So it's still one and the same power, but from a technical point of view, we might say, it's electromagnetic, static-acoustic combination, and what we know, yet it may not be that at all, but that's the way we know it, and that's the only way we can go along with it at the moment. There's a description of it, anyway. Yeah.

But in the final, it's a creator's own power with which and by which he holds and with which he created every any form, regardless how small or big that form may be and where it may be found. And without that power, no form will be present. So you see, you look at it that way, and then you realize what power is really moving the whole thing. And the creator will borrow nothing from humans if the humans will come to the creator instead of the humans. Because... This school in Mexico, may I ask you this question? I suppose it will be open as a postgraduate course or a graduate course. That I still don't know how it's going to work out. I'm just trying to understand. You're just dreaming. Yeah, but I wanted to make it definite that that, uh, as I got it, uh, that there was a rumor that I was going to become a Mexican citizen. That's not true. You don't have to become. That's one we missed. That's not true. And, uh, but I do go to Mexico

and I will be going again. And, of course, I do like to open up a school. There's two reasons for opening up a school. There's some coming from the east to California, say, isn't it? It costs plenty money. I know. And nobody is flushed with any money. Well, we're rich. We'll be rich. And yet, and yet... You're not in a gas car. And yet, and yet nobody can really maintain a group of people without paying for the maintenance. That's right. Okay. We gotta be realistic. In Mexico, what it would take, which they say it take three, four hundred dollars maybe for a person to come out and make a study a couple of months or so, in Mexico it's done for less than half that. See? It's a lot cheaper in many ways. So it's beneficial in more than one way. And, uh, then the conditions that are there, such as they are, kind of lend themselves a little bit better. And, uh, there is other things there. You're a little bit, uh, well... You're here to do things too, aren't you? Yeah.

You are. And you get a pretty good cooperation up there from the University of Mexico, too. And you expect a little bit more tax from the... Yeah. And the University of Mexico down there, the professors down there just think nothing of it. They would come down and help you along if you need help from that angle and think nothing of it. Where here, it's awfully hard to get anybody to even, uh, appear on the scene, not alone go up there and speak for you or try to give you some information. Our, uh, institutions, like the universities, they say, well, I belong to university so-and-so or so-and-so and you haven't got nothing, we don't recognize yours. There, they don't do that, see? If you got a little group and they could lend a hand and give you some enlightenment, they'll do so. That is, uh, quite a great advantage there, see, because none of us know everything and everyone can help everybody else. Yeah. Do you think that, uh,

David and I should go back and start taking Spanish? We got a good, uh, uh, Spanish... Spanish... Spanish is very important, I might say, in Mexico. Not as important as it may sound, but it is important in Mexico. And while I don't talk Spanish nor understand Spanish, neither does she very much, we got along very nicely. Lucy, again, she does a little bit better, although Alice does fair, and, but we get in there, we, we'll have to do it, but, uh, it's really not actually necessary. We got along very fine. And I'll give you some idea, give you some idea. We went in... maybe yet here before you get here, I don't know. But it's a station wagon, 46, say, Fort. We went in there. Well, the girls naturally had their own motel. I'd have mine. See, that's two motels all the way through. Okay. Then we tipped here and there right along, normally, as usually, and we didn't eat the poorest, we ate the best, you might say, because you don't want the poorest

up there. You want to look for the best, because, uh, the best sometimes is not good enough, because, uh, sometimes they don't wash their boats and they snag, they warn you against all that. So you should always take the best. All right. So, and we stopped at a nice hotel, motels, and so forth. And the girls bought themselves a little of this and a little of that here and there, then spent very much on those things. But when we, in three weeks run already, that's including gas, car expense, everything, in three weeks for three people, we figured up just what the cost was per week. Forty-two dollars a week for three people. Holy smokes. Wow! In American money, see? Oh! See, the money goes long ways there. So you can see my reason for, uh, like to have a school for three months out of a year and spend the other nine months here, see? And, uh, because it would be beneficial to everyone concerned. What are the regulations getting across

the boundary, George? A permit. Do you have to have your birth certificate? Uh, yes, you do. And you have to have either the title or the registration for your car. Uh, We want to go down tomorrow, and I don't have my birth certificate. Well, well, uh, uh, T-T-O-1, now you don't see anything. That's, that's a ready part of it, see? All the border towns are ready. You've got to get in 180 to 200 miles till you begin to feel Mexico, like Mexico is. But we want to just go down there to send the cars back here. Well, you, if you got it, you can get across there and drop the card in the, uh, uh, the amount it doesn't. And, uh, so forth. Why, you can do that. I hope sometime in the future I may have an opportunity to go down deep in Mexico, at least after you've got your The best way, the best trip to make now out of, uh, from the East Coast, you could take Laredo, Texas up through there, you could take that, and take that trip the other way, which

is Veracruz that direction, or through El Paso, take it right down the American, Pan American Highway, right into Mexico City, and then come back on number 15. Which is the coast route. The coast route is the most beautiful route because it's all along the Pacific coastline. Yeah. And, uh, it's the most beautiful drive there is. There's the tropics and everything else in there. Ah, Jerry, it wouldn't take us anymore. How far down would it go? 150 miles? Uh, about 180 miles to go into Mexico. That is, uh, Wymas is about 185 miles. We could do that easy tomorrow. We don't have to go back to Percy. Well, yeah. You couldn't go through here, though. You have to go to Arizona, Tucson, and go to, uh, Nogales and through Nogales. You gotta go out of Nogales on the Highway 15. We're through down here south of San Diego and, uh, drive along the west coast of Mexico. Is that the one you were talking about? Yeah, you could know that either one. That's, uh,

that's on this side, see? But you could go from, uh, Tijuana to Tecate, but then you'd have to come out of Calexico, which, uh, brings you out then at El Centro. He could be better to have it, though. I think I am, but I might have it in my pocket. Yeah, it'd be better to have it. They, uh, they, for one, they don't own color because people go in and out. But yet, if, uh, immigration officers are trying to get a little snoopy and some of them are a little smart sometimes. They want everything. They just, the time that you think they wouldn't ask you, they ask you. Do they check your cars? Well, uh, they don't check your car, but you see, your car is loaded. Traveling. All right. Now, you go in there and you be coming out. They think you're coming out from Mexico, and they would check you then. They'd check you thoroughly then. Rather cause you a little trouble then. Uh, because they check you thoroughly. Now, going into Mexico, they don't check you highly.

But coming out, they check you thoroughly. This is like going into Canada. Yeah, our immigration offices are stricter than theirs. See? Theirs, they don't. But, uh, that's, that's what I would do. Uh, and on, and another thing, you gotta have a health cert, uh, certificate. You gotta be vaccinated. for this reason. Mexican government doesn't care about your vaccination, whether you got it or not. But the American does, because they have, in some cases, brought a cross. See? And you can't blame them for that. Well, not just for one day or two days. No, not for one day or two days. Not in those border towns. But yet, as I say, your car is loaded. They'd be wondering where you're coming from. See? That's the only thing. If you went in there with a passenger car with nothing in it, just passengers in there just for a little pre, uh, set up on back again, then probably wouldn't matter at all. Yeah. Mr. Jones, do you have anything as a final remark to say

to our gang back in Detroit? Well, I'm mighty glad that the folks have come up here, and I think they've enjoyed themselves, and you probably heard some planes over there going over just a little while ago, and things like that. And, uh, I do hope that things turn out very nicely, that I get to see all of you again this fall, sometime in the next couple months, as I'm planning. I hope those plans can work out, because things are working out such a way that they go in the Eastern, as I said before. So I'll be seeing you then again. In the meantime, it was nice

for the folks to stop here to be able to say a few words, and that's really, uh, my feelings are, and what I see the picture should be, and so forth, and you can accept or reject it, it makes no difference. I've been asked, and I just spoke what I see in the cards. We appreciate your views on these points. Huh? I do get mail from all parts of the world, every day down here, and you can sift that out pretty well, and get the cross, uh, Mail or mail? Mail. And you can, you can, uh, get a pretty good idea just what the world is wanting, and what they're asking that way, and that seems to be the desire of the unified humanity, regardless of where they stand, what grade it is, or any, just recognition of each other, and the goal is that one purpose, to bring that relationship between us and others, reality, and thereby live together as a vast family of a universe, rather than strangers and a vast universe, because we're a minute thing in the end. Gosh,

you just get out there, a couple of, a couple of thousand feet up in the air, and look down up on the earth, and you can't see man at all. He might as well not be, not, uh, not exist on that planet. There's no, there's no indication of vegetation, you know. Uh, George, I want to ask you another question. Is your address your star route of Valley City? The same thing, Valley Center. Valley Center. The same address. Is this Valley Center? This is Valley Center, that's all. And that's all, uh, the address is. You say you saw a fracture just last night, around 915? Uh, not last night. That was, uh, I didn't see it. Those folks there, I was asleep. Oh, the people down the hill. Yeah, down the hill they saw it. That was, uh, Sunday. We could go Sunday. Oh, we could go Sunday. We could go Sunday. And, uh, it was in the sky quite a while. Although there's a report come in this week from the top of the Palomar by two, uh, nurses that are

camping there at their campsite, and where they seen a dozen saucers going over toward the observatory from Booker Hill, and so they jumped in the car and went toward the observatory, just to see them better, and sure enough they broke up, and there was four of them that went around the observatory, and as their car stood there watching them, then one of the ships came so low that they could hear the machinery working inside of the ship. What night was that? Uh, the week ago Sunday. That was the week ago Sunday, you said. No, this happened there. Oh, just recently. Yeah, just recently happened over the big observatory, although they've been ships through here quite often. And, uh, the best way if anybody wants to watch for ships, I would say it this way. It's a good way to watch for ships. Down here, as you heard, many planes through here today. Well, down here, when the planes just go on their routine flight, that's one thing.

But when they start circling, going and orbiting, you know, just going like mad dogs, you might say, that's what they remind you of when they start going in a circle. Then that's the time to look up in the center and watch it. There's something in the center to try to encircle. Well, when David and I came into Denver, uh, there was a couple of jets, uh, chasing something. They finally were chasing them. Uh, after we saw what we thought were two ships up above us, then pretty soon the jets were out. Yeah, well, any time the jets, or, uh, jets mostly, are going around in the orbit, or circled, look into the center. And see what you can see in the center, never mind the jets. And, because they're, they're going in a circle for, uh, for a reason. And keep our eyes open and remember that. And usually it is the case. That's how I spot most of them here. Felt better in my life. Nice and brown and real, like a real solid citizen.

I have a 16 millimeter camera now. It's got me. So any ships appear down here because, oh, before we left for Mexico City.

That's what I'm hoping to hear about it. I was standing just by the way your car is now. And, uh, the jets came in and started whaling in us. So I looked right away. And by God, there were six ships in that section there. And you could see them perfectly. And there's the jets. And I had a camera, a moving picture camera. Then, would, uh, I got a good picture and good evidence where they just had been chasing them, too. But I didn't have it. So then I said, I must get a camera. So I did get one. So now I have it. Anything like that appears. And you didn't have it with your hand, huh? Well, I didn't have no camera with me at all at that moment. And the little camera down here that I have wouldn't take it at that distance. Oh, you would have had one of them. Yeah. Then I could have got it. Like that fellow over Utah in the UFO picture. That's what he had. Yeah, telescopic lens is the cause for that. All right. Then, uh, after I got the

camera, we got back from Mexico City. This was about 9.15 in the morning. We were down here, uh, clean enough, when the sun was just about over that water tank there, see? And, uh, we happened to look up and then you saw the big blue ships. The sky was blue, but this was a little darker blue. See? Beautiful outline. Cigar-shaped type ship and about this long. I would say from the two sides was about 4 to 5 feet in length. There. And right up by the sun. So, so, it was a little hard to observe because the sun was shining in your eye. So I ran down. I didn't have the camera with me. So I ran down to the place there. Dropped my camera. Come running back to try to catch it. And the jets was out already. And so I got to the steps down there. And she was up here already. Alice was watching right on through. She was up here already. I just read the book of my telescopic camera and when the darn jets came in, I shot straight

up and I didn't get anything. But that was the best picture I had ever been caught because it showed sharp outline of the mother ship, of its body. And then it showed its field force. You could see, you can ask her, you could see how it turned out and it waved like waves, you know. You could see it. It waved out and turned out from this heavy blue to the lighter, lighter, lighter until it finally blended with space. I'd have got the whole thing. It would have been the first picture of its kind, you might say, where it actually photographed the field force around the ship.
