[00:00] Opening remarks and introduction
I don't know definitely. She said she would let us know by Monday. But I think it's quite certain that she will. So let's remember that, and anyone who would like to hear her, set aside two weeks from tonight to be here.
I think most of you know she has written quite a few books. The latest one is The World Within, which has had some very good reports. Then we have a raffle that we are still at, because we were going to raffle it off, but some of the tickets weren't turned in.
And then not only that, but we didn't have enough money to even cover the expenses of the prizes. So we are going to postpone it up until Christmas, and we hope by then that we might have at least some money so that we can go on with understanding.
Understanding is a non-profit organization, but nevertheless it does take money. And I think that all of us who are in other organizations realize that there are a lot of times we have to contribute. Well, this is one of the things that we are trying to do to get a little money for understanding. And here is a little radio. It's a portable radio. And then we have the binoculars. And the first prize will get a choice of either the binoculars or the radio. So let's try and do something about the tickets. Because I'm sure... I'm sure all of us want to see understanding grow and go ahead. And we can't do it without some finance.
No. No, we did not have any at the Rock. I think Trudy Allen had some at the Rock that they raffled off. You mean at the convention? Yes. No, these are not... We raffled a telescope at the convention. And then now we have this going. Oh, yes. No, those are gone. And anyone who has tickets that haven't been turned in, please do so. The tickets are 50 cents apiece. Two for a dollar. So let's take two, at least. We don't, as a rule, ask for money very often. But we are trying to... We are growing and we are trying to grow ahead. And so we've got to have something to go on. Alvin Gerwin's new book is out. The Knight Has a Thousand Saucers. It's here tonight and we'll autograph all books. We have them in the paper bound and in the hard bound. What are you? Call the hard bound. What? Claw sign. And then, of course, Miss Troxell is here and her book is here. The Wisdom of the Universe. And she will autograph the books. And Dan Fry, of course, is our speaker and he will autograph any of his books.
I'm sure we're all looking forward to hearing Dan and what he has to say on all of the new things in the saucers that he has collected from the trip in the East. Dan, are you ready? Just once here.
Dan will speak for about an hour. Then we will have an intermission. For those who cannot stay, do so. And then we will have questions and answers. So if you have any questions... Be determined to prove me wrong.
Just before leaving the house tonight, I said to my wife,
the day is hot as this, everyone's going to the beach.
[05:00] Daniel Fry's main address
No one's going to bother to come out to hear Dan Fry rehash a trip east. I see again that... Try my best... Have a little breeze through the air and perhaps it'll cool down.
I'm going to discuss a little bit the...
...that I've wanted. The photographer was...
It appeared in the Chicago papers and was... From there it hit... It was printed in about 50% of the pictures in the country. And I still haven't lived it down. Offered a tie for about a year.
The next time I wore it was about a year later to the lecture in Chicago. I was in the middle of the group with the same tie on.
So I haven't worn it since. This is the first...
The Chicago... It was a tie that had... A lot of flying saucers on it. Well, actually, it doesn't have any made, and so it's rather unique.
But in case of expectation, I point out that it's... This is the third time in three years that I've worn it. I do actually like...
East, unquote, at midnight on July 25th, New York, a week later.
It's about midnight for the next day. We spoke miles a day and a talk at the end of it,
and then immediately get back in the car and take off again. In the past year, the average individual has been here too far,
and people could be divided. Those who accepted the existence of extraterrestrial beings and who were very excited, sometimes fearful, sometimes eager,
the number of people who accept the reality is tremendous.
The degree of emotion is something that now is being taken for granted by people who have become accustomed to the idea
that it demonstrates once again that anything is possible. At every point of going out into space ourselves,
we can no longer... Becoming something that's comparatively short time.
Right.
to any statement on a subject. I pointed this out to a couple of years ago that it was not necessary for the reporter to inject his own opinion into a report. It's possible for a reporter to report something that is heard.
Usually you get...
If you've been there a year,
but having been there twice now in two successive years, I find it of a subject.
Being in Puerto Rico,
to maintain such a schedule day after day,
we could get to the next...
We look at the back.
It's possible to communicate openly with the Earth,
desire it. The majority of the things sent by reporters
were given specific orders, and this they admitted to us were the most ridiculous pictures they could possibly get. ...it would be used.
Those photocopies,
these pictures which she got from Life in a Magazine, did not use them. You can get copies of those pictures for a very nominal fee, but when she got a large number, they were taken at that time, and some of them were very, very good. Highly ridiculous. The essential point was over...
...together at one... ...the people of this country. Regardless of anyone's opinion concerning the basic premise,
many, many people were... And so, news media...
In many cases... There's some subject upon which everyone on Earth could meet on equal terms, and this is it, doing exactly that.
Regardless of anyone who applied to it, it may be made to discount it,
and simultaneously, and they're right,
and gracefully,
and they dug a hole about ten feet deep, and a couple of buildings were demolished,
in relation to people who didn't know what armed meant. The bomb was complete,
and these charges behind these subcritical maps are all the assembly chambers, the center of the bomb, and immediately there's a nuclear... The bomb fell, and these charges had been deformed, and the bomb had been deformed,
and they can't...
It isn't likely, but it can happen, and there are many other ways in which ICBM...
By the distant earlier...
We've heard talk of building bomb showers, which the defense obviously can't evacuate
six feet of water.
In Los Angeles City, there are four million people. It's going to be a big job. Put every one of those four million people
a thousand feet down in the Earth, with insufficient food and water,
[50:00] Development of the main themes
and you're going to do our things our way. The point comes about because of this.
Most of you here are familiar with it. It's all outlined in the book called The Men of Earth, it's outlined in great detail. Every race and universe reaches sooner or later a critical point in its development. This critical point comes about because of the fact that the material science practically always, or normally always, does outstrip the development of the social and spiritual sciences. We gain power faster than we gain the intelligence to use it. When that development reaches a certain point, we achieve the ability to destroy ourselves completely. Now mankind on this Earth has been trying to do this for a long time. He's been trying to destroy himself completely for a long time. He's used every weapon that he can build, that he can design and conceive of against his neighbor, and used it in the most efficient way in which he could contrive to use it. George Bernard Shaw was one of the first of the great philosophers to point this out
two days after Hiroshima. George Bernard Shaw was asked his opinion of the atomic bomb. And he said this. He said, it looks to me as though mankind, after several thousands of years of patient and industrious effort, has finally produced the means by which he can destroy himself completely. He was the first one to voice the fact which almost everyone has come to realize today.
Bluntness of speech. No one has ever implied he was one of the first to reach this point. We have finally reached a point where we have the power completely, a degree of advancement in intelligence, in our social science that will prevent us from doing it. Completely comes at about the same time
because it involves about the same degree of advanced technology.
Every increase in power has been used first.
Currently something is. If it would not be here,
they would have destroyed it. To have peace on this earth,
we've got to have peace in our own hearts first. You're perfectly right. That's where it begins.
To point it out the proper way. Nothing new. The. Nothing new in the philosophy except one thing.
We had our choice.
Free choice. There's something outside.
Question of truth.
The word truth, unfortunately, is a word. Which has a different meaning for every. If you, which he considered to fall under this word truth,
you would find that there were no two people on earth who had exactly the same. There's no person on earth.
You discuss the matter with others. It's the same place. Except for each individual. That line exists in a different place.
There's something we're insisting that others accept that which we consider. Who has exactly that concept.
He's saying, well, everyone else on earth should accept exactly what I,
a man giving a name of Josh,
attempting to extort funds from a device, a human voice along a side.
In. Such a way that it will be heard by a listener and is used to gain the confidence of people
who are aware of the success of the Latin.
By exhibiting a device, which he says will convey the human voice any listener at the other end, which is obviously intended to imitate the word telegraph and win the confidence of those who well-informed people.
The human mind was not even able to take the. Even though the telegraph is in operation and anyone who even suggested it might be possible should immediately be imprisoned for fraud. In. The same thing takes place with the steamboat.
Fulton's folly was one of the. Most laughable things on the river when it was being built. The same thing everywhere you look. Every single advance, one step beyond the status quo is an impossibility. It's a ridiculous thing and it simply can't be accepted until when the first phonograph demonstrated that it's magical
or something else. Metaphysical.
In the physics books, there's always been a. Neither one of them has. Because the physicist says, oh, I don't want to have.
So anything we don't understand.
The ability to.
There isn't any telephone in between. The name is the gadgetry that we.
Talk into. In the transmitter end. And we say, well,
this might be without the intervening gadgetry. Because we don't see how it's done. We know now that it is. Obviously can't completely.
That they've got. Because a man of 100 years. 100 years in advance. We haven't had the answer that.
In some cases, because it's communicating modulation of the auditory nerve. It comes in exactly as.
An inductance coil.
Who by chance.
Considered urgent to. Transmit a certain. Which will be destroyed if that damn goes out.
He immediately realizes a necessity to communicate with the people in that phone.
He doesn't stop to look and see who's got the most. Look and see who has the best. Church in church. He doesn't look to see. He's concerned and only one. Can he hear what I've got to say? If he does, that's the man that he's going to contact.
Even though in the house. Go outside. You'll probably. Case in the discussion, which I had pointed this out.
Is.
Human beings having other means of communication. Haven't.
And you blow. An SOS says it was about two years ago.
[01:30:00] Audience questions and discussion
A minute hand move from between publications.
Sometimes it was almost so many times.
I knew that the next time it repeated, that was the end. They felt that they could predict this revolution was happening somewhere.
The.
Assist us with television and.
Swallowing all the advertising and brainwashing.
Compress ourselves into a little. The world about us. We can ignore everything that's happening and saying, well, we can't do anything about it anyhow. So what's the use of trying. And we can live out our lives that way. Some people are happier that way. People who can't see going through life.
And if they do, they must. Some people, it's the only worthwhile person has that feeling. He has to examine a number of. Easy to say we should ignore everything outside of the earth and solve our own problems, except that we've been trying to do it for several. And we've reached a point in problem distinction between reality, the same ideas on that you're on a ground that can't, that no argument can be done on.
No two people have completely convinced is true.
Yes, as far as he is, as far as he is. He.
Can completely convince himself on, he can also prove to us that you might.
That's the only place that exists. The universe only exists for each individual in that individual mind. There is no such thing as a real universe at all. There is a thing which exists in each mind, and that is the universe to them. That's what I recognize.
This is the universe. It wouldn't make a difference whether it existed or not. Would be no way of showing that existed if there were no consciousness. So the only existence, only practical existence of the universe is in.
No two people have the same idea that way.
Most confirmed atheist in the world believes it in his heart, whether he admits it or not. You take the most confirmed atheist and put him in immediate danger of death, where he thinks his last moment has come and the first thing he'll say is, my God. It's the thing that distinguishes man from the animal. It's one of the things you can go into that haven't yet achieved the bow and arrow.
You'll find specific forms of religious observance among every one of them. It's the first realization, the first consciousness that comes to the human being. Human intelligence. But no two people have exactly the same idea concerning that power. Thinking for it.
The difference between some of the greatest contrived individuals, the pursuit of this understanding.
You can't love anyone or anything just because you feel you should. If someone came to you and said, I will give you love in your heart for that individual, that neighbor of yours.
You might over this understanding has to come.
And sometimes it's stated as charity.
The word should be understanding because that's what was meant. I am become a sounding brass and a tinkling cymbal. Very precise parable.
A brass and a tinkling cymbal. I sound good but that is exactly what that is.
Because if man understands, then he will love.
And the same as you don't seem to mean much.
The story of Beauty and the Beast.
Meaning.
Everything for her happened. She began to look not quite. She couldn't think.
She couldn't. She suddenly felt. She said, yes, Beast. And immediately he was transformed.
We can never fear. We may not agree with it.
Why is the ability to put yourself into it as he sees it. And to see why he does the things that he does. Why he feels the way that he feels. Why he says himself in his shoes. And to look out through his eyes and through his mind for one moment. You may see. You may see that he is wrong. You may not agree with a single thing that he says. But you know why he says them. You know why he is wrong. Why he thinks the things he thinks. Why he says the things that he says. And why he does the things that he does. And understanding is the basis of all love. Love. And the reason we haven't achieved a higher degree of love. Do we have any other questions? Because whenever. Anytime. Any man on earth. Of some sort. To date I have a connection with it. To achieve something worthy of report.
I can report.
I can report.

So we can do this. I can explain. I can say I can. Here we go. And he will turn his head. And according to the people he looks up. He is dan to go anywhere. Remember. Never have I done this.
