(The weekly television program being produced in Douglas, Arizona by Daniel W. Fry, editor of Understanding, is progressing well. Following is the script of another program in the series entitled “The Romance of Space” written by Dr. Fry.)

WE WILL BEGIN Our discussion tonight with the question how and when was the planet earth formed. Because differing opinions have been expressed on this subject in the past and in order to gain the best possible understanding, we will consider several sources of information.

In the first chapter of Genesis, in our Holy Bible, we find the statement-“In the beginning the world was without form, and void: and darkness was upon the face of the deep.”

At first glance this seems to mean only that the surface of the ocean was dark. But in a world that is without form and void, how can there be an ocean ?

As science progresses, we find more and more that there is a great deal of precise and accurate scientific knowledge stored in this book, much of which we are just beginning to understand.

The statement that “Darkness was upon the face of the deep” does not refer to an ocean, but to the almost inconceivable depths of space, within which all of the galaxies or star clusters in the universe are formed. The

term “darkness” refers to the condition within a dark nebula, from which an individual galaxy is formed.

Let us go out into the depths of space, to see if we can find such an area today.

This is a picture of the great dark nebula in the constellation of Orion. It is called the “Horse’s head nebula.”

This nebula is actually a tremendously large cloud of dust, interstellar gas, and various sized bits of solid matter. It is billions of times larger than our entire Solar system.

The dust, the gas and the larger bits of matter are condensing. That is they are drawing closer together because each particle has a gravitational attraction for every other particle. Our own Milky Way Galaxy began as just such a dust cloud some billions of years ago.

If a jet of steam is allowed to escape from a steam pipe into cool air, it will almost instantly condense into millions of tiny water droplets. The same thing happens in the condensation of the dark nebulae, except that instead of happening in an instant, it requires many millions of years, and the droplets, instead of becoming cooler as do the droplets of water, actually become hotter and hotter as the condensation proceeds. The cloud also begins to take on a slow whirling motion which causes the galaxy to assume a spiral shape.

Here is a picture of the Spiral galaxy known as M 51 shown face on. This galaxy contains a little more than ten thousand millions of stars. It is not a very large galaxy, as galaxies go, (our own galaxy contains about ten times as many stars,) but still, ten thousand millions is quite a lot of stars. Each of these stars is a sun, much like the one that keeps our own solar system supplied with light and heat. Some of them are a little smaller than our sun-many of them are much larger, but all of them radiate the light and heat that is necessary for the development of life.

It has been estimated that in about one case out of ten, the condensation which produces the sun, will also result in much smaller condensations which orbit about the star, and which we call planets.

The earth upon which we live is one of these planets.

While the current estimates say that only about one star in ten will have planets, they also say that the number of planets which such a star will have is about 10. So we come to the conclusion that in the small galaxy M 51 which we have seen tonight there are also about ten thousand million planets more or less similar to our earth. The estimates as to what percentage

of these planets have conditions suitable for the development of life as we know it, vary considerably. Some astronomers think that perhaps one in ten, to one in a hundred may be capable of supporting life, others feel that only one in a thousand will be so fortunately situated.

Even if we accept the smaller estimate, however, we still find that a single galaxy probably contains ten million planets capable of supporting life. There is also a rather wide difference of opinion among scientists as to what percentage of those planets which have conditions suitable for the development of life have actually developed it, but even if we accept one of the smaller estimates say, one out of one hundred, we still find that we have, in one small and rather insignificant galaxy, one hundred thousand planets, inhabited by some form of life.

The Milky Way galaxy, of which our solar system is a part, has ten times as many stars and so we probably have at least a million inhabited planets in our own astronomical back yard.

And yet, do you know that many people thought that the age of exploration had ended when we succeeded in reaching the north and south poles of our tiny planet earth?

Actually, the age of true exploration by the people of earth, is just beginning. But are we the first intelligent beings to begin an exploration of the Universe? This question and others will be the subject of our next week’s program.

AN INTERESTING FACT TO CONSIDER

In 1894, THE MOUNT LOWE Observatory at Echo Mountain, California, was erected. Echo Mountain is in the

Sierra Madre mountain range just back of the city of Pasadena, California. The observatory was made accessible by means of a railway cable car that ran from a point near Pasadena to the top of Mount Lowe. The cable car was considered for that time an engineering feat, achieved by means of great steel cables and electric trolleys that led into the land of clouds some 5757 feet up. Travel time from the base to the top was eight minutes. Until 1935 this railway was a very strong tourist attraction until one of the great trestles burned. The observatory was destroyed seven years before by strong winds.

BUT, our interest is not in the Mount Lowe Observatory. We are interested in its Director, Edgar Lucien Larkin, who took that position in 1900 and held it far many years. Mr. Larkin, a man of science and a frequent contributor to astronomical journals, also wrote several books. Radiant Energy and Its Analysis, which deals with radiant energy’s application to astronomy and astro-physics, Within the Mind Maze, and The Matchless Altar of the Soul. It is this last book with which we are concerned. The Matchless Altar o f the Soul; written in 1916, has to do with the subconscious mind which Larkin, after studying a lifetime and researching in astronomy, electricity, and mentality, concludes to be the soul, In this book, Mr. Larkin, in speaking of psychic literature has this to say:

“Had the reader become fairly conversant with this literature, now rapidly taking front rank in the literature of the world; and which will step into the first line of advance when the present world-war effects die out; he would know that the words of this wise woman of Tekoah told the exact truth of the fact, that beings from some higher sphere, state, or realm, have, in all ages, visited the Earth. I have proofs in my possession that these beautiful beings of splendor now appear in earth-realms, as of old, and that their visitors are becoming more often than even fifty years ago.” (Page 21)

Although this statement was made 45 years ago, we can infer from it that the “higher beings of splendor” are space people who are still visiting our planet today.

EXPERIENCE THE 4th DIMENSION

MANY PEOPLE ARE ASKING “What is the 4th dimension”? “Is it the God dimension, or is the 5th dimension the God dimension”?

There are many questions that arise regarding the dimensions that science has discovered. This last question regarding the 5th dimension is engendered by the assumption that the 4th dimension is the mental realm of man and the false belief that he is a limited creature; therefore the 5th dimension (numerically speaking) would be the realm beyond this and is thought to be the God dimension. However this is not the real truth. It is impossible to limit God to any dimension; for God is unlimited by time, place or condition. The dimension of God is called the 4th dimension because `four’ indicates completeness. When something is complete, whole, or all inclusive, it includes everything that is or ever will be. Therefore the 4th dimension should not be considered from a numerical standpoint, but as a symbol of “The city that lieth foursquare” spoken of in The Revelation.

The fourth dimension is the infinite extension of the other three into the mental realm. It is true that the 4th dimension lies in the mental realm which is capable of being expanded into the spiritual realm, or the Christ Consciousness. This is accomplished by the expansion of the 5 physical senses, which operate through your body.

The three dimensions represent the expression of God in creation. What would a creator be without a creation? Therefore the three dimensions are easily understood by man. The 4th dimension is both mental and spiritual. Past, present and future are not places in time but are the ETERNAL NOW in the realm of completeness.

You can easily test this out for yourself. Select a place in your life to which you would like to return. Select some happy memory and relive it. You can relive these scenes easily and completely as if you were just now experiencing these things. You are not limited by time, place or condition; for you can re-experience anything that ever happened to you, by your power of recall from the memory records of your book of life.

If you desire to create a new experience you can also imagine or image in your mind the new experience. Notice, you are not limited by time,

place or your present condition at all. In fact it takes very little effort to imagine some pleasant experience you would like to enjoy. When doing this you are living in the 4th dimension so to speak. You enter into your closet (the inner soul sanctuary) and when you have closed the door on the 3rd dimension, in secret you project the scene you wish to enjoy. And remember “what the Father seeth in secret he will reward you openly”.

However to really bring into actual manifestation this vision you have created you would have to become thoroughly convinced that it would take place. Now in order to convince yourself that this would take place. your body instruments come into operation. You expand the vision through the sense of sight, by seeing it take place. You feel the various aspects of it that are connected with the feeling or sense of touch. You smell the various items connected with it as well as taste them. You create the sounds that lend reality to your vision, and all this is done mentally. Try this and see for yourself the effect it has upon you. This is working in the fourth dimension. However it makes it real to you to use all your 5 physical senses and the joy of anticipation to activate the scene. BECAUSE ANYTHING YOU CAN SENSE BECOMES REAL TO YOU.

In order to actually manifest this scene it has to be brought down into the third dimension or the realm of actual manifestation. This was experienced by Jacob when he saw the angels ascending and descending. To manifest our visions we see the creative forces ascending into the reality of the spiritual world, in which all things already are, and descending into the third dimensional world in order to be made manifest.

To create as God creates we must learn to use our own creative powers. We have been endowed with these powers of thought and feeling, the male and female or positive and negative forces necessary to create anything.

Flying Saucer’s Crew Landed To Fill Jug, State Man Reports

(From Milwaukee, Wis. Journal, April 23, 1961)

EAGLE RIVER, Wis.-Achicken farmer who lives four miles from Eagle River has told authorities that a “flying saucer” carrying three men made a brief visit to his yard last week.

The farmer, Joseph Simonton, 60, claims that he received three small, pancake shaped pieces of food from the visitors. He gave one of the cakes, about three inches in diameter and perforated with small holes, to the Vilas county judge, Frank Carter.

Sheriff John Schroeder said Saturday night that judge Carter had sent the sample to Washington, D. C., for analysis.

The claimed landing of the “flying saucer” was said to have occurred about 11 a.m. last Tuesday. But Simonton said he was reluctant to spread the word, realizing some would claim his experience was preposterous.

He said he was attracted to his yard when he heard a noise outside, and the saucer -gleaming silver “brighter than chrome”- had landed in his yard. He said it was about 12 feet from top to bottom and about 30 feet in diameter.

Simonton said a hatch opened about five feet from the ground, and he could see three men in the machine. He said one of the men, dressed in a black two piece suit, held up a jug, which appeared to be of the same material as the space ship. The man motioned to indicate he would like water .

Simonton said he took the jug, hurried to the house to comply, and brought it back to the men. He judged that they were about 5 feet in height and weighed about 125 pounds. He said they were smooth shaved and appeared to resemble those of Italian descent.

He does not recall hearing them speak to each other or to him. Simonton said he looked into the interior of the space ship and that all the interior appeared black, the color of wrought-iron.

He said he could see several instrument panels and he could hear a slow whining sound, like the hum of a generator.

“It appeared one of the men in the ship was frying food on a flameless grill of some sort,” Simonton said.

Simonton said that he motioned to indicate an interest in their food. He said one of the men, also dressed in black but with a narrow red trim along the trousers, handed him three of the small cakes, which he has shown to authorities in Eagle River.

Simonton said the visit did not seem more than five minutes. He said the large hatch snapped shut and that it was machined so smoothly he could scarcely detect where the hatch was when it was closed.

He said the ship took off rapidly to the south and that there was a blast of air that bowed near-by pine trees.

He recalls that along the edge of the saucer he noted exhaust pipes six or seven inches in diameter.

Simonton said that he thought the ship was actually hovering in his yard and never touched ground.

“When it took off, it really went,” he said. “It went up, slow and even, about 15 feet, and then in two seconds it was so far away I couldn’t see it.” Simonton is married, but his wife is now working in Chicago and he is alone on the farm. He is also a plumber. The nearest neighbor is about a quarter of a mile away.

Sheriff Schroeder, who has known Simonton since 1947, sent two deputies to the scene after Simonton had told him of the incident. The deputies could not find any evidence that a flying saucer had been in the farmyard.

“Joe really believes everything he says,” Sheriff Schroeder said Saturday, “and he isn’t a drinking man. He talks sensibly.”

Thousand Year Old City With Pyramids Found

(From La Opinion, Los Angeles, Calif. Spanish newspaper, April 13, 1961)

NEW YORK-Two young archaeologists, namely Michael Prussel, 24, and Maria Clara de Montaignae, 23, have found an ancient Mayan city, said to have been buried for 1000 years, in the jungle of Yucatan Peninsula. The ruins contain 108 well preserved buildings and 8 pyramids of 22 meters in height (approximately 75 feet. One pyramid has what is described as a palace on its top.

A passage to underground chambers was found to contain well preserved paintings and was left undisturbed.

Mexico City anthropologists hail this find one of great importance in Mayan history and call the city “Chunyache”, a city known to have existed but a mystery until this find.

The two archaeologists have made 19 other important discoveries during the past 3 years.

Couple See Strange Phenomenon

(From Richmond, Calif. Independent)

Anyone around able to explain a phenomenon seen by a Richmond couple?

Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Dillard of 571 – 8th St., were returning from the Nevada state line the other day when they saw some mysterious lights near Placerville.

They were traveling toward Sacramento when the sky “lit up as bright as day-you could read a newspaper by it.” They turned their heads left and watched a glow about two miles off the highway. The sudden brilliance seemed to indicate the possibility of a plane crash, but there were no reports of such an accident.

ABSTRACT THINKING OR REALITY

MAN’S MIND IS BEGINNING TO EXPAND. Why? Because he is thinking. His thinking strengthens his brain cells which gives him the ability to understand the future. Always think fore word not backward, it is alright to bring past events into the now to abstract or explain the original thing. Thinking brings on concentration, concentration brings to your active brain or munewt (fluid that is in the tube of the brain furnished by the nerves) by this liability brings thoughts into your brain cells, we have to work for that we so desire-desire is the wish-the faculty that under lies our gift of the Creator. Thinking is a faculty and lies within the cerebrum of the brain faculty, the active organ part of the circulation that will cause the words on the out side to come into the brain, then into the voice box, then the flow of words are in operation. Words are active, they must be moved or they become stagnant and leave the mind blank. Man must and does think all the time. Then he must think rightly-right thinking brings results. Let’s go into the thinking

of man today. We say we are advancing. “Are we?” If advancing are we any farther? Let’s go into the atmosphere of reality. Is it reality or not? Does our thinking deceive the mind, do we think falsely because we are in such a muddle circumstance beyond our control?

It’s like driving an auto. Keep your car under control at all times or danger is approaching. Your hand is on an unthinking object, and it must be guided by your will power, will power is another faculty-whether you see it that way or not.

Things we do not see are more real than those we see. Jesus said, “My words pass not away”. He knew words were things, they drift around and about us at all times. I visited a certain group, white there something kept jumping and going here, there, quicker than lightening, the movement of my head could not keep up with the objects so I gave up. They were words dancing around my being, in fact a velocity beyond yours and my comprehension. What the words were I could not say. “What moved the words” Electricity. It keeps this universe a going, also our bodies, as well as our words, just a certain amount and no more. We call it God that controls all this unseen force or means of living in a place of existence we know so little of. He is our keeper of our vehicle of eternity. He blesses us, cares for us, if we give “thanks” or not, but those that give thanks are higher in thoughts than those that do not. Yet people say, “Why has he more than I”? We must be appreciative of that unseen force we abide in.

Man is capable of flying. “Is it man that is flying”? Isn’t it man’s thoughts that are soaring”? How and by what object is he using his thoughts? Man is wasting his thoughts, yet he thinks he is a very brilliant vehicle of God’s thoughts, for through thoughts he thinks he can get eventually to another planet. Planets like humans, have their own vibrations. Can you get along with every one and vice versa? Indeed not! Every man considers himself one notch above the other man. How many think they see an object with the faculty of your material eye, or do you see the object within another realm? You see an object, is it real? Do people actually live on other planets, and do they wish you to visit them, have you received a special written invitation to blow a bomb up into their atmosphere, if so, if they are not our color what shall we do about it? For it is the color we fight. Humans are humans the world over. We are all related, only some are living in different stages of time. We are all on our way. Where? Right to the spot where we came from thousands of years ago.

We drift into eternity then drift back where we left off to finish our accomplishment we started years ago. Man is not alone, he thinks he’s alone. Just one person thinks he can conquer the ALLNESS. Can he? No.

But think of all men’s thoughts in a factory working together to make that atom bomb which will be shot up into the universe just for a few pleasing or a few sticks of dynamite to see if he can reach another planet and after he get on the planet he will say, “I am sorry I left my calling card at home.” So then what is he thinking? Why negative thought-he was thinking negative thoughts for months, maybe years, in order to make an object that took him to a spot where he was not invited. Have you ever stepped into a home and in an instant the vibrations told you were not welcomed? Man is his worst enemy. He is short on thinking ability-in fact on a good many things. For so using the materials for bombs he is wasting God’s material that he should have used for better purpose. God never told any man to go to another man’s private home and wreck it.

If God wanted a certain man on a certain planet he would not been denied that privilege. God or this great intelligence knows what it is doing. It is man himself that thinks he is bigger than his Maker. We must bow

We are on the other end of the string, and it’s pulled by a mighty big and strong hand. “So think upon these things” as Jesus said, then is when good comes rolling in like “billows of foaming white snow” it’s for us, accept it, grasp it with open arms, love it, and it will bring us riches untold. God is not bad, He’s good.

God has to have helpers, you also are His helper and only through your thought force can you help. It’s you, “Are you fit to be caressed and loved when you face your Maker?”

CRISES OR UNDERSTANDING

It is a time of crisis on the planet Earth. An old age is dying and a new age is being born. Already the separation of the two is plainly recognized by all who have eyes to see and ears to hear. The vibratory movement of the New Age is swift. It is sweeping through the earth like a mighty wind, destroying what it cannot lift into its own powerful movement. Man must transmute his limited material life into spiritual consciousness, ere he can move forward with the new spiritual age. The people who will assist in carrying the race forward are vividly conscious, the subconscious having been merged with the true spiritual understanding. It is a day of action and mastery. The half dreaming minds which have moved uncertainly with clouded vision are receding, becoming lost in the chaos of the dying age.

One who sees and thinks clearly and knows harmony and compassion is a jewel without price and it is this type of mortal that we depend upon to bring about the new order of living. The number of these rare children is few when compared with the confused, murky mass, but these few have the power of creation which will give strength and light to the universe. Dark days are ahead for those whose lives are chaotic, but even in the darkness the Light of Spirit will expand until it fills the universe. Follow the Light with Understanding. Keep steady and calm within. Much truth will unfold in the minds of the people in the coming days. Know that it is a great privilege to be in the vanguard of an incoming age. Be ever alert, single minded and true.

LOVE MORE POWERFUL THAN THE “H” BOMB

“Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, (not with just a little smidgen of it-WITH ALL THY HEART), with all thy might, mind and strength, (how will you go about doing that?). If you consider love to be emotional infatuation, and you approach God in the same manner that you would your sweetheart, you would be consumed in a flash and cease to live. Or, suppose you come down to earth and use your strength and your might in loving your sweetheart or a little child, you would do more harm than good and only bring wrath upon your head. But now continue with the quotation: “and in the name of Jesus Christ thou shalt serve Him.” There you have the key to the “How” of love, i.e. it is service. If you see your neighbor in difficulty, your understanding of his troubles creates in your heart a feeling of sympathy, and your sympathy begets a desire to help-to render a service, and that services becomes LOVE IN ACTION. So then, it is logical to say that “LOVE IS SYMPATHETIC UNDERSTANDING.”

The second great commandment is “Thou shalt love thy neighbor as they self.” And you can apply the same definition of love toward your neighbor as you do toward God.

It is most important that we consider this LOVE IN ACTION service because therein we find the POWER WHICH IS GREATER THAN THE “H” BOMB. Bragging about your service would create ill feelings and your future service would be resented. To avoid such ill feelings and resentment, Jesus when he rendered a service would say:–See that you tell it not.” So, all our services of love MUST be done in secret. One whom you have thought to be your enemy, can be won over to friendship by sincere secret and generous service because it engenders a feeling of reciprocity-a desire to return the favor, or maybe, to pass it on. But the recipient of the service is not the greatest or only beneficiary because whenever you render a service of love, your whole being is lifted in a thrill of joy, and with each thrill your soul expands and grows until all evil is crowed out and only peace and good will remain. Then life becomes a constant delight instead of a burden, and you begin to realize what Jesus was aiming at when He said:-“Cast thy bread upon the water and after many days it shall return.” That command is just as effective today as it was two thousand years ago, because it is the heart of the gospel of love the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is the only science that can lift mankind to

Godhood and give him eternal life. All other sciences can lift man no higher than the earth plane. There is no destruction in the practice of love, but the “H” bomb can produce only terrible destruction.

Life is growth, growth stoppage is death. Eternal life can be realized only when all destruction is eliminated. Love will remove all desire to destroy.

I seek not to blazon my name upon the canopy of time that I may receive the plaudits of men. But, in humility, let me render such service to my fellows that someone, weakened and disheartened by adversity, may take fresh courage and, by his own efforts, climb to the heights of eternity and he will take my name with him.

Joseph, who was sold into Egypt, was guided by dreams and also Joseph, the foster father of Jesus. These indicate that dreams were used by God to direct the lives, at times, of his children and that by following them, we were pursuing a course in harmony with biblical teachings.

As our studies continued, we concluded that some dreams have a literal interpretation, some symbolic, and many have no apparent significance. But the more they were studied, like any other subject, the easier it became to understand them.

I have been guided, through my dreams, in the major events of my life for many years.

In January, 1961, I was told in a dream to take a vicarious mission around the world, to stand on each continent and many individual nations. In each to pray to God for the abolition of war and the beginning of a reign of peace; that His will might be done in each land by its people as it is in Heaven. The trip was to cover fifty-three days and end April 15th. Today, April 2nd, I am in Saigon, Vietnam, and have eight more stops to make to complete the mission.

It is a fine experience and I feel thankful for the Heavenly support given me.

Have You Heard?

Yes, every Saturday night we have a ship take off for space, chartered by Understanding Inc., financed by the ship’s skipper!

Destination and course are different each time and have to be carefully plotted by the skipper each week.

O yes, we have already traveled far out into space and, after visiting several planets in our own solar system, we even dared to venture out to other systems, other galaxies!

And silent we fell for the beauty of outer space!

Did you ever realize what preparations it takes to have on such a flight each Saturday night?

Of course, during the first part of the week action is taken on the experiences of the last flight and new plots set up for the coming one; maintenance and flight crews are called together, and briefed as to their specific

functions. Then, 24 hours before zero-hour, Skipper Dan Fry and his crew leave by car for their take-off point: Douglas, Arizona.

Twelve hours it takes them, a whole night’s ride, to reach their destination, and turns are taken behind the wheel, to give each one as much rest as possible. At our arrival, a short discussion takes place between the Skipper and the spaceport crew, instruments checked, details gone over. Then the crew can take a few hours more rest before they have to make ready for “take-off”, and zero-hour approaches fast: 7:15 pm. MST.

The crew checks up on some minute details and the Skipper takes his place in the pilot seat. A few more seconds . . . and Understanding Inc. is in the air with the “Romance of Space”!

Again we pass from light into the darkness of space itself, where millions of stars silently await us. Time does not exist out here anymore as we make our jumps from place to place, and so, fifteen minutes later on Earth, we come back to our point of departure and make a perfect landing, bringing with us a wealth of new information and precious experience. Yet, the work of the crews is not finished. Discussions take place, suggestions made for the next try and difficulties brought to table.

Then Dan and his crew are ready for the long trip back home, ironically enough the 700 miles overland trip takes much more time than the millions of miles we traveled through space. Another weekend passed, another trip made.

Yes, our space trips via KCDA-TV, Gadsden Hotel, Douglas, Arizona every Saturday night at 7:15 p.m. MST are indeed very successful. They also ask days of preparation, long hours of traveling and … hands full of money, every week!

We have found a real home at the home of Betty Lou Webb, the Douglas Unit’s president, where dinner and bedding wait for us every week, and whose care of public relations and information “duties” is priceless.

I’ve heard bits of talk here and there about donations, etc., to help Skipper Dan in his high expenses for Understanding’s KCDA-TV program “Romance of Space”. I also heard mentioning the good use that could be made by Dan Fry of a small airplane, to make the trips and other lecturing trips all over the country. Of course this last idea would be “the” solution for this problem, certainly worthwhile thinking about!

And now I greet you all and hope to meet you again on our next journey into space.

EL MONTE UNIT #1 put out an excellent News-Letter for April. It is looking ahead into unusual things and finding interest in things that have provoked little attention. Orfeo Angelucci spoke on “It is One Mission” in March, and Robert Short lectured on the “Secret Builders” in April. Magazines for friendship are now being mailed to many foreign countries. Six other units have joined in this project.

OAKLAND UNIT # 3 elected the following officers at their March meeting. Walter Rossit, 215 Blythdale Ave., San Francisco 24, Calif., President; Della Larson, 3246 Sylvan Ave., Oakland, Vice President; Lillian Gruber, 7322 MacArthur Blvd., Oakland, Secretary; Opal Michael, 4250 Piedmont Ave., Oakland, Treasurer; Jane Barkley, 1122 Midway Ave., San Leandro, Librarian, and Harriet Rentfrow, 2314 7th Street, Berkeley 10, Calif., Membership Chairman.

LONG BEACH UNIT #8 met Saturday, April 15th to discuss the merit of proposed new by-laws for Understanding, Inc.

INGLEWOOD UNIT #15 entertained Riley Crabb Saturday, April 22nd. The topic under discussion was “Flying Saucers and the Coming Space Probes”. He introduced the “break off point.”

TORRANCE UNIT #27 approved a proposed set of by-laws at its last business meeting. Unit 27 meets each week and delves into deep spiritual lessons.

RIVERSIDE UNIT #22 discussed new by-laws at it business meeting on April 19th.

20 UNDERSTANDING

SAN BERNARDINO UNIT #29 has a lively program for the coming months. On April 10th Ron Ormond lectured on bloodless surgery and allied topics. Other speakers are Ormond McGill, Dr. Ernest Weltmer and others. Dr. Arthur Lasky was reelected President at the recent business meeting. Howard Bennett was elected Vice-President, Miss Jerry Carnes, Secretary and Mrs. Beatrice Hill as Treasurer.

MARIN COUNTY UNIT #31 listened to Dr. Eugene Whitworth on March 3rd and to Dan Fry on April 7th and 8th.

DOUGLAS UNIT #33: Robert Short lectured on April 22nd, and Dan Fry gave their anniversary lecture on May 13th. Both were advertised on Dan’s TV show, being given regularly each Saturday night in Douglas.

Understanding, Inc., maintains a reading room in Pasadena, California for those who want to go and read books in the flying saucer and metaphysical field. The room is located at 313 East Orange Grove Avenue in Pasadena. It is open to the public on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon and Tuesday evenings from 7:30 to 9 p.m. The office staff will also be glad to man the reading room at other hours upon request.
