EDITORIAL: DARK HORSES

(Editor's note: It has always been the policy of UNDERSTANDING magazine to refrain from endorsing any candidate for political office. However, we believe that the basic platforms of the presidential candidates should be presented for public consideration. We will, therefore, present the platforms of those candidates who have difficulty in gaining access to the usual means of news dissemination.)

 

ONE OF THE DARK HORSES of the coming presidential race is Brigadier General Herbert C. Holdridge. The General has retired from military service but has no thought of retiring from the battle in which he has been engaged for several years. His principal purpose in seeking public office is to restore the Constitution of the United States to its original and rightful place as the principal foundation block of legislation as well as jurisprudence in this country.

The General feels (and your editor is inclined to agree with him upon this point) that too many of the provisions of the Constitution are being ignored, bypassed, or circumvented by the bureaucracy which is rapidly eradicating the last vestiges of democracy in the United States.

A very large percentage of the rules under which we live today are arbitrarily created by bureaus which have no Constitutional authority whatever to make laws. Yet these rules have all the effects of laws, and are in fact laws, because their violation is punishable by fine or imprisonment.

Most of the provisions of the Bill of Rights have tong been negated and superseded by local ordinance. For instance, the Bill of Rights guarantees to every citizen the right to own and to bear arms, yet if a citizen should attempt to carry firearms on the streets of any major city he would almost certainly be arrested for the violation of one or more of the city ordinances. While it is true that most cities will issue a 'permit' to any citizen if he can prove `good character' and some special need for a weapon, the man who `bears arms' under these conditions is doing so only by special permission of the city, and not under the provision of the Constitution which guarantees this right to everyone.

Whether or not such abrogations of constitutional guarantees are conducive to the general welfare is a question which can only be answered by a study of individual cases. Yet the fact remains that the Constitution has been almost abandoned as a basis for legislation.

Many of the multitude of the `laws' written by the Federal Income Tax Department of the Bureau of Internal Revenue, are notoriously unconstitutional, yet they are tolerated year after year because they are `laws of convenience'. They create the only system by which the staggering sums now being extracted from the citizen could be successfully collected. General Holdridge is also campaigning for the return of the Federal Reserve Bank to the control of the Federal Government. (The Federal Reserve Bank is presently owned and operated by a private corporation which is in business principally for its own profit.)

Another plank in the General's platform is a plan to give more definite and concrete assistance to the underprivileged classes within this country.

The United States is spending many billions of dollars yearly in foreign aid, yet there are groups of American Indians and Negroes in our own country whose plight is more desperate than that of most of the foreign areas to which our billions are sent.

LIFE AND DEATH

The True Meaning Of The Words LIFE And DEATH As Used In The Bible

 

SEEKING REFERENCES to the words, DEAD and DEATH, using the concordance of King James Bible, we find these words listed under the following headings: "DEAD, inanimate, without life", and "DEATH, cessation of life".

With these definitions before the seeker, he, or she, is from the start, being impressed to think of these two words as expressing the final and ultimate ending of our gift of life. Thus making any further investigation to seem useless. However, as we read the very first chapter of the Bible, we find this statement: "So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them." God being a Creative Spirit, anything He would create would be spirit. Since man was created in His image, man was a spirit, with the gifts of spiritual attributes, or qualities, how else can man look up to God as being the Father of us all? We are further informed, God put the man Adam to a test: 'And the Lord God commanded the man saying: 'Of every tree in the garden thou mayest freely eat; but of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it; for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.' Now, Adam continued to live for a considerable length of time. He raised a family and attained the age of `930 years and he died'. Are we then to assume that God made a mistake, or lied, concerning the day in which Adam would die? Here we meet with the very first incident which refutes the above meaning of the word `death' as given in this concordance of the Bible. However, we will reach an understanding of the true meaning of this word, and that of `life', as they are used in the Bible, as we read the words of Moses exhorting the people of Israel, saying: "See, I have set before thee this day, life and good, and death and evil." Deut. 30:15. Here life is presented as being synonymous with good, and evil with that of death. The words `life' and `death', are both used in a spiritual sense. This we find to be true throughout the entire Bible. Now, as we return to Adam, it becomes evident that he actually

did die, in the day, when he did eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, since to rebel, or dissent from the will of God, brings upon us 'spiritual death'. In so doing, we separate ourselves from God and commit the sin of apostasy in the same sense, as when a soldier deserts his place in the army of his country, and reverts to take his place with the enemy.

We have from childhood been taught to believe that `death' of our physical body, means cessation of `life', that a resurrection of the body from the grave is necessary. Just what does happen when we die? Man as an individual, has a spiritual beginning. His spiritual part, or the Godform within, is clothed with a physical and mortal body, while on this earth. To this physical body is given an earthly or human nature, `the soul', which is animated by the indwelling spirit, or God-form. Therefore, the only change which takes place when we die is, we leave the physical body behind, and, our spirit, together with the soul and its accumulated experiences, which form our character and personality, are released and set free, to enter into the world of spirits, where we arrive as living entities after our life departs from the physical body.

The Bible consists of a compilation of various documents and books written at different times, in which we will find added information on our subject as we proceed to investigate. The New Testament presents various examples of how the words `life' and `death' have been used. During Christ's ministry, as we read about His teachings, we receive the following information: "Another of His followers said to Him: `Lord, give me leave to go first to bury my father'. But Jesus answered: `Come with me, and let the spiritually dead bury their spiritually dead'. Matt. 8:22. Again we read: "But as regards the resurrection of the dead, do you not remember what was spoken by God: 'I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. Surely He is not a God of the dead, but of the living'. Matt. 22:31-33. Nowhere do we find that these prominent men of the Scriptures were raised in their bodies and had left their graves, yet Christ speaks of these men as resurrected and among the living. The Apostle Paul, writes to the faithful in Rome: "My better self, therefore, would rather serve the law of God, but my baser nature obeys the law of sin. What an unhappy man I am! Who will deliver me from the slavery

of this spiritual death? The mercy of God will do so through Jesus Christ our Lord. Thus there can be no further question of condemnation for those who are in communion with Christ Jesus; for the laws governing the spirit-world that lives in communion with Christ Jesus have freed me from the laws governing the realm of the spiritually dead who are separated from God by the sin of apostasy. The craving that obeys the impulse of the flesh brings with it spiritual death; but striving for that toward which the spirit-world of God urges us, brings true life and peace". Rom. 7:24,25-8:2,6.

Paul, in writing his epistles to the Christian churches, for the guidance of the faithful, has this to say: "You also were spiritually dead in consequence of your apostasy and your other sins, in which you lived throughout the ages, since the world began. You were under the rule of the Prince of Darkness, that spirit who even now exerts its power over all who persist in disobedience. Once we too were numbered among them. We had all, at one time, turned away from God and become subservient to our baser natures, doing as our sinful desires bade us and as our corrupted minds directed. Like all others, we were in the position of children against whom the Divine judgment has been pronounced." Eph. 2:1-3. Here we learn that these Ephesians existed `throughout the ages, since the world began' and had made their decision in the revolt which caused them to be banished from God's Paradise.

In his epistle to the Hebrews Paul writes: "Now since He (Christ) had clothed His children in bodies of flesh and blood, He could not do otherwise than to share the same lot. Thus He was to be enabled to suffer the death of the body in order to wrest the power from him who rules over the spiritually dead, namely, the devil. He was to restore to freedom all those who throughout all the periods of their earthly existence lived under the spell of fear of the Prince of Death and were thus held in slavery by him.-He was to build the bridge over which the hosts of those who had committed the sin of apostasy might return. As one who Himself was sorely tempted to commit that sin, He is especially fitted to help those who are assailed by the same temptation". Heb. 2:14-16,18.

To the Corinthians he writes: "We (the Apostles are a fragrance

shed by Christ for the glory of God upon those who will be saved as well as upon those who are going to perdition. To the latter this fragrance will be like the odor of decay that prevails in the kingdom of spiritual death; to the others it will be like the breath of life that is wafted in the Kingdom of spiritual life. Therefore, as soon as we allow the glory of the Lord to be reflected in ourselves with the countenance of our spirit unveiled, we shall be changed into His image, ascending to glory stage by stage, and in such a degree as will be brought about by a spirit of the Lord". 2 Cor. 2:15, 16, 3:18.

In his epistle to the Galatians, he writes: "So I warn you, let one of God's spirits be your guide through life, and then you will not yield to the baser passions. For the natural cravings conflict with the spirit-world of God, and the spirit-world of God conflicts with the natural cravings. The two are always at war; whatever you do, therefore, you cannot do it without a struggle". Gal. 5:16-18.

EXPECTATIONS OF THIS AGE

THE TIME IS NOW COME when the light of thy inspiration and thy angels shall extend around the whole earth and in her heavens also.

In all former cycles, My Gods had to deal with separate divisions of the earth; My revelations were unto each, for a special time which is now at hand. I have prepared this land untrammeled with Gods and Saviors and Lords, enforced by the sword, so that My revelations of this day shall be published and not suppressed. And thou shalt reveal to mortals the plan of My worlds; and, as to who thou art, and the method of thy inspiration and dominion on the earth and her heavenly kingdoms.

Thou shalt keep open the gates of heaven for a season, and the spirits of the dead shall commune with mortals, good and evil, wise and foolish. And mortals shall see them, and talk with them face to face; and they shall recognize their own kin, sons and daughters, fathers and mothers, brothers and sisters, the dead and the living.

And the angels shall demonstrate the subtlety of corporeal things and the capacity of one solid to pass through another solid uninjured. Yea, the angels shall bring from great distances heavy substances, and cast them down in the presence of mortals, who shall see these things done, and testify thereto.

And man shall understand, that, even as plants and trees and fish and serpents can be wielded by My angels, so also can virus and pestilence be carried by angels of darkness to cast mortals in death. And thou shalt suffer evil spirits and all manner of drujas, and vampires and engrafters, to come, and manifest unto mortals, that they may know whereof My revelations unfold the matter of earth and heaven.

For man shall understand what I mean by the words: As ye live on the earth, so shall ye reap in heaven.

Whoso desireth the angels for profit's sake, and he have power in sar'gis, give unto him a band of drujas and vampires, and give them great power in signs and miracles....

And whoso consulteth the angels, without regard to becoming a better man himself, suffer him also to become captive to lying spirits....

For they shall be made to know the meaning of the word, hell, as  applied to the lower heavens.

For I will make man understand that he shall accept nothing from angels or men because of the name professed. On the merit only of wisdom and truth, and such good doctrines as raise men up out of darkness and poverty and crime, shall they accept either spoken or written words.

And they shall try to organize to carry out good works, but they shall fail. For many will desire to be leaders, being under the influence of selfish considerations, desiring the applause of men.

And they will profess freedom, but they will not pledge themselves to any sacrifice, either of money or opinion for sake of the public good. And little good shall come out of their works, and even less peace of soul shall come unto them. For they shall dispute and quarrel, being divided in all their ideas and philosophies and sentiments, and in their understanding of My kingdoms....

But in, the time of the light of My revelations, than, shalt raise up a few, these thou shalt cause to form a basis for My kingdom on earth.... And they shall pledge themselves unto one another in fullness, as brothers and sisters, holding their possessions in common. . . .

And keep the seventh day as a day of communion with Me and My angels hosts....

And they shall become an organized body in communities of tens and twenties and hundreds and thousands.

But they shall have no leaders, only their Creator; but be organized, for sake of good works.

But they shall not go about preaching for sinners to go to repentance. Nor preaching for charity to the poor. But they shall go themselves about gathering up sinners, and the poor and helpless and orphans; and bring them into comfortable homes, teaching them how to live, to be a glory unto Me and My kingdoms.

To such persons shall My angels from the second resurrection come, and minister in My name for the joy of the earth. And when such people die, they shall be received into the second resurrection, escaping the first.

Behold the day of preaching and professions is at an end. I will have practice only.

WHAT CHANGES WILL THE SIXTIES BRING?

(The following is from a four-page article in the January, 1960 issue of Esquire Magazine. "ESQUIRE asked a wide range of experts what they thought would be the greatest changes in their particular fields in the 1960s." From amongst these completely sound answers was found the following.)

G. BROMLEY OXNAM, Bishop of the Methodist Church, Washington, D. C.: "The decade's most dramatic event will be The Interplanetary Conference on Religious Faith to be attended by the finest minds of all the planets of the Universe. It will be the first 'Universal' conference on religion made possible by scientific mastery of space travel. Teachable humility will characterize the delegates who will represent the religious thought of all the religions of all the planets, and make known the revelation of God to all. Fundamentalist dogmatism and

papal infallibility will have no place among men who love one-another, and seek the truth in freedom. It will be a 'sharing' conference. How did God make Himself known to the inhabitants of Mars? Through incarnation in a Person, by revelation in a Book, or through the thinking of scholar and saint? Is there evidence for immortality? The sessions will be televised, and the universe will come to know the Universal Truth that frees.”

COLLEGE WILL STUDY FLYING SAUCERS

Ohio NORTHERN has become the world's first university formally to undertake a study of flying saucers. The university will mobilize the full abilities of its faculty to gather, correlate and evaluate all possible reports on flying saucers. When the information has been studied thoroughly, the university will make known its findings to any interested individual or organization.

In announcing the project, Dr. McIntosh, president said:

"The American people are much concerned about the future of their nation and its place in the leadership of the world. The mounting interest in the phenomenon, the so-called 'flying saucer', is indicative of our people.

"We believe that a university like Ohio Northern has a distinct responsibility to hold itself in readiness to be of assistance in the discovery and interpretation of the facts which center around such phenomena. Our university is in rather a unique position to be of assistance at a time like this.

"We are an independent Christian university. We have 'no ax to grind' other than the discovery of the truth and the proper interpretation of the same. Having a College of Engineering, College of Law and College of Pharmacy, as well as a College of Liberal Arts, we feel that we possess a broad foundation for service in matters like this.

"I have therefore asked our faculty to hold itself in readiness to be of assistance in all these matters. I have appointed a committee of the faculty to direct efforts of the university in whatever may be asked of us."

The university is asking persons from all over the country who have seen flying saucers during the past five years to write Project A, Ohio Northern, Ada, Ohio.

WILLIAMSON HONORED

DURING HIS RECENT STAY in England, George Hunt Williamson, well-known anthropologist and lecturer in the flying saucer field, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Anthropological Society of Great Britain and Ireland.

Never in the history of the society has a man of Williamson's youth (33 years) been considered for membership.

Williamson is the author of "Other Tongues, Other Flesh," "Secret Places of the Lion" and "Road in the Sky" and is co-author of "The Saucers Speak" and "UFOs Confidential."

Further honor and recognition was bestowed on the youthful explorer archaeologist and social anthropologist when he was requested to fill the position of Archaeological Consultant in the planned excavations next summer of the Glastonbury Abbey area, particularly the Chalice Well.

This is the mystical place of King Arthur, Camelot and the "glass tower on the hill."

Philip, who had the Spear which had been used to pierce Jesus' side, gave this object to Joseph and told him to take both the Spear and Cup with him to England and the site of the later GLASTONBURY ABBEY.

The Cup was kept in a SECRET PLACE IN A HIDDEN CRYPT BENEATH THE ABBEY. A chalice was again made for it, and later it disappeared. But it was not stolen or destroyed. FINAL PREPARATIONS are being made for the seventh annual Spacecraft Convention at Giant Rock, Calif., to be held this year on the Memorial Day weekend, Saturday and Sunday, May 28 and 29. Host George Van Tassel is expecting a crowd of several thousand persons to gather at his airport, north of Yucca Valley, Calif. As in past years, leading speakers in the flying saucer field are scheduled to recount their experiences. Persons attending are advised to bring their own food and water.

Flying Saucers: Tests Hint Earth Visits

ALAMOGORDO, N. M., March 13, 1960 (UPI) -A research group said yesterday it has uncovered evidence that indicates unidentified aerial objects from "somewhere other than earth" are operating within the earth's atmosphere.

The Aerial Phenomena Research Organization notified Air Force officials in Washington that the group has in its possession actual physical evidence that flying saucers are extra-terrestrial in origin.

"The most advanced laboratory tests, including spectro-analysis, indicate the material could not have been produced by any known method on earth," Coral Lorenzen, director of APRO, said.

In his letter to Maj. Lawrence J. Thacker, PIO spokesman for the Air Force, Lorenzen said the physical evidence is a portion of "an extraterrestrial vehicle that crashed in the earth's atmosphere."

APRO offered to submit the material to the Air Force for scientific study. APRO is made up of scientists, astronomers and space and missile experts, and is headquartered in Alamogordo.

Lorenzen said in his letter to Thacker:

"A release which you issued early this year states that no physical of material evidence, not even a minute fragment of so-called flying saucers, has ever been found. This statement, as it stands, is not true.

"APRO has in its possession the physical evidence which the United States Air Force denies having been able to acquire. It is a fact, a portion of an extra-terrestrial vehicle which met with disaster in the earth's atmosphere. The catastrophe was witnessed by numerous human beings. The gratifying aspect of this case, however, is that we do not have to depend on the testimony of witnesses to establish the reality of the incident for the most advanced laboratory tests indicate that the residual material could not have been produced through the application of any known terrestrial techniques."

Mysterious Lights Unexplained

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla., March 8 (UPI)-A mysterious formation of flaming, colored lights flashed across three southeastern states last night, touching off an Air Force investigation and speculation that the Soviet satellite Lunik III had fallen to earth.

The arcing lights were seen over this U. S. spaceport around 8:10 p.m., some 10 minutes after they were first spotted over North Carolina and later over South Carolina.

The National Space Agency in Washington confirmed that Lunik III, the massive Russian rocket that took pictures of the far side of the moon, was expected to plunge into the earth's atmosphere in March.

But NASA authorities said that the Smithsonian Astrophysical Laboratory at Cambridge, Mass., was the agency which kept track of satellites once they were launched.

However, officials at the Smithsonian lab said they could give no explanation for the lights, which triggered a small flurry of "flying saucer" talk.

An Air Force spokesman here said that "the only thing we can say right now is that we are investigating."

... The lights started as a closely-collected mass of flaming colors red, blue, green, orange and yellow then spread out as they shot to the southeast.

Through binoculars, the lights appeared to be fast-moving balls of a molten substance, perhaps metal, falling apart. The display lasted about three minutes before blinking into darkness.

Simultaneously, another slower-moving object traveled over the Cape in the same general direction. But its light was a brilliant white, flashing at about one-second intervals. It disappeared into the southeast, then made a return trip.

Charge Air Force Deception on UFO

WASHINGTON, March 19 (AP) -A committee dedicated to further investigation of Unidentified Flying Objects today accused the Air Force of concealing the facts.

In a statement, the National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena said the Air Force gave it misleading information about a mysterious round flying object it said was sighted at Redmond, Ore., on Sept. 24, 1959.

The committee released an Air Force letter saying the air technical intelligence center carried this incident on its records as "insufficient information," with the opinion that it probably was a balloon.

Retired Marine Major Donald E. Keyhoe, director of the committee, said Federal Aviation Agency logs disproved this.

"The Air Force was fully aware," Keyhoe said, "that its own and the FAA evidence proved this was some unknown machine under intelligent control."

He said the committee has written Air Force Secretary Dudley Sharp asking for an investigation of "this release of misleading information."

New Planet Turns Out to be Another Asteroid Belt

(From San Francisco, Calif. Chronicle, March 9, 1960)

A recent report that the Russians discovered a new planet beyond Pluto was termed a mistake yesterday by Soviet astronomers.

The report came last February 12 in a Moscow dispatch quoting the newspaper Kazakhstan Pravda. . .

After attempts to get more information from U. S. correspondents in Moscow failed, the Chronicle cabled directly to the observatory. Yesterday a reply was received from Dr. V. Fessenkow of the Alma Ata observatory staff.

He said the Moscow report was in error, and that no planet had been found. The astronomers did find what is apparently a group of asteroids orbiting the sun beyond Pluto, Fessenkow said.

Asteroids are small planet-like bodies that occur in clusters and belts throughout the solar system. Some are only a few miles in diameter; the largest is only 480 miles. Some are round, others irregularly shaper or even brick-like.

The largest known group orbits the sun in a belt between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter.

Moon Is Not as Rugged as You've Been Taught

BEDFORD, Mass., (AP)-Spacemen landing on the moon won't find a land weirdly scarred with jagged mountains and deep craters; it will be less rugged than previously thought, and flatter, scientists reported Tuesday.

These conclusions, disclosed by the Air Force Cambridge Research Center of the Air Research and Development Command, are based on a new technical study of the moon's surface in which British, French and American scientists are taking part.

The new technique is based upon measurements of shadows of lunar prominences as the shadows creep forward, or recede, across the moon's surface. More than 5000 photographs, picturing the local creep of moon shadows, have been recorded at intervals of one to three minutes at France's Pic-du-Midi Observatory.

Knowing the relative positions of earth, moon and sun, it is then possible to compute heights of prominences rising above the surrounding lunar terrain and determine the profile of the surrounding surface.

March 23, 1960

Dear Friends:

I read of your organization in an article by Jim Mitchell which appeared in the Los Angeles Times.

I am a housewife and mother of two small children. My husband and I have been interested in the subject of UFO or Flying Saucers since 1957. However, we did not know of the existence of a civilian saucer organization until we read the Times article.

In November of 1957, we observed an object flying low above our house. It was so large and unusual that we were stunned with astonishment. It was flying low in a horizontal direction and seemed to hover for a few seconds over the Upland, Calif., area. Then it disappeared.

The object resembled a wingless airplane. It gave off a cold bluish white light. It was viewed by large numbers of persons in Upland and surrounding areas.

A Pomona, Calif., radio station had received many calls concerning the object and so they sent one of their cars to the Upland area where the object had been seen to hover. When our family drove to the area in question, there were approximately 30 persons searching the area with flashlights. We spoke with an engineer employed with the Convair Missile Plant in Pomona and his wife, a hospital technician. They gave descriptions which coincided with our sighting.

At their suggestion, we wrote to the Smithsonian Institution and sent the local newspaper report of the object.

Mr. Fred L. Whipple, the director, wrote that the object sighted had been a bright fireball. To this day, we are in total disagreement with his conclusion. If he had seen the object as we did, I am sure he would have never called it a fireball.

Dear Friends:

A friend sent me a notice of a lecture at the Pasadena Unit of Understanding meeting of May 14 at the Odd Fellows Hall and mention of the Space Convention at Giant Rock.

I get Proceedings, have several books on saucers, am deeply interested in the New Order of the Ages now dawning. I know very well the value of Understanding and its partners in the trinity, Knowledge & Wisdom.

I am learning from that hi'er school The Within to which all men ever have acces when thots & attention are turned Within. Tis said of Sir John Baptiste Van Helmont "Having attained to the revelations of the Inner Consciousness he gave all his vast libraries away having no more use for books"-that goal looks good to me.

I have drawn some charts of "the ages" and explain my understanding of the progress of Mortal Man toward Resurrection, regeneration, and ultimate ascencion as Jesus exampled to man "Many are called, few chosen"-they are not ready to Pay The Price, in absolute annihilation of the mortal Selfish Self. That self just has to burn itself out, in the Renewing of the mind which transforms, trans-substantiates, translates, transfigures and transcends all that is human and of the animal into hi’er vibratory rate of invisibility of Spirit. Jesus said "If I Be Raised Up" . . . He was born the mortal animal way but knew he could be re-borne, regenerated by holding mind on God enuf to reform the animal into god form & be One with God, a God on earth in human appearance-the worm goes into a coccan or crysalis in which stage the transforming, a process of nature, and hatches out to a butterfly.

Man must come to Understanding of this process-Bible says in latter days many are to be saved & we are entering the latter days and greatest changes earth has ever known are just round the corner. "Separation of the Sheep & the goats" means sheep will remain on earth & goats will reincarnate on Pluto, planet of a lower vibratory rate to go on in unfoldment, while sheep remain to rise into higher levels of that & action for Jesus return.

This will be a wonderful world when man learns to Do instead of talk about Jesus, He said man can do & even greater than he, & some are now doing greater.

Enuf attention to God transforms one to a God on earth. "Saints are only sinners that kept on trying" Ascended Masters (Bible calls angels)

can draw, concentrate, solidify, crystallize Spirit substance to form a visible body in any appearance they please to Will it, and a mortal vision only can see & know it as they wish them to, they are One with God & any wish is possible of manifestation.

The Alchemist can transmute the baser metals into gold. There are no impossibilities when our knowledge, wisdom and understanding are enuf Risen. All visible existence is on some level of Vibratory rate from infinite Silence to lowest solidarity of matter. One who learns to control those frequencies by Will can precipitate Visible substance. Wisdom only puts such powers in minds of those who safely use it, and they seldom allow recipient to know from whence.

I have met a few Miracles, perhaps from some hi'er being for there are 7 orders of beings higher than man.

My wife had Clairvoyant, Clairaudient & Sycometris abilities, thot transferance and often rec'd others thots. I learned lots in 50 yrs thru her abilities, and pass it along to others.

The tremendous impact on his listeners of Mr. Reinhold Schmidt's story of being taken to the Great Pyramid of Gizeh, by his Saturnian friends, is still reverberating. For there buried beneath it was a spacecraft of momentous historical significance, and he was taken inside it.

Everyone is asking himself or herself "What is the significance at this time?" "What is the reason that the Cross on which Jesus was crucified and which has been in the spacecraft these nearly 2,000 years should be brought to the attention of the world now?" "Could it be that we are being `put in remembrance' in these critical times?"

All people and all nations of this earth remember Him as the "Prince of Peace" and the great Master Teacher of Love regardless of religious affiliations.

REPORT FROM EASTERN UNITS

New York Area News

The month of February saw New York over-shadowed by lecturers in the field of past and present Inter-Planetary and Inter-Galaxy and Universe-around-Universes matters.

First came Neva Dell Hunter who held forth in the new home of the N. Y. Psychology Forum in the beautiful Laurelton Room of the Wellington ... in two lectures Feb. 2nd and 9th ... on the general subject of Akashic Records, Reincarnation and what changes lie ahead among the planets.

Then came George King of England, who was presented in a series Feb. 10 thru 15th by the Philosophical Research Society in their newly decorated and attractive quarters at 211 W. 57th St.

King made an appearance on Long John Nebel's famous and now somewhat infamous Party Line program (WOR-Mutual) in which he was violently attacked and insulted by a celebrated comedian via beeper phone. Credit goes to British Mr. King for holding his temper and calmly refusing to talk via phone and thereupon hanging up. Following this appearance, an added lecture in 211 on Feb. 24th was flooded with the curiosity seekers.

Simultaneously with the King advent, came the young scientific atom bomb in the person of George Hunt Williamson who took the UFO and Metaphysical world by storm, having created much interest in previous lectures. On Feb. 12th, he packed the cozy Truth Forum Center at 1010 Carnegie Hall (also headquarters for Spiritual Science Institute) where he talked on "Flying Saucers in Ancient Times and Today."

Many of this audience found their way to the follow-up lecture the next night when N. Y. Saucer Information Bureau presented him at 50 E. 69th St. in his new lecture "Secret of the Andes" with the fascinating new slides from Mexico and Peru, with the convincing evidential material on the ancient civilizations and their "Teacher who came from the Road in the Sky."

Some of them also found their way to 838 Park Place, Brooklyn, and a Unit 14 meeting Feb. 17th where he gave an intimate talk on his experiences and contacts in the scientific world and the UFO field in Europe last year.

(The following is a communication received by members of the Detroit, Michigan, Unit No. 28 concerning the formation of their unit.)

"In this year of 1960 a great deal of accomplishment must be made, and all of those of us who are working in the Light are putting forth every effort to accomplish this. We hope that all of the Light Workers upon Planet Earth will also do their part.

"It is my understanding that you have just established a group which you are calling Understanding. This, my friends, is good and we have high hopes that this group of Understanding as a World Group will grow and bring people together in understanding.

"Now I must say that this is very good, but unless you actually work at spreading understanding it will not avail you very much. Just using a name is not enough, we must spread understanding; we must work at bringing understanding to Earth People. We must attempt to understand our neighbors, our friends, and those with whom we come in contact. "We must demonstrate understanding, we must be understanding. It is not enough my friends, to speak of understanding, we must be understanding. We must attempt to understand those about us and friends, let us start with those who are close at hand and then let us see that this understanding spreads.

"You see, my friends, the great weakness of the people of Planet Earth over the centuries, has been that they do a great deal of talking; they spew much of their religions and of the things that bring love and understanding, but that, my friends, is as far as it goes. But we have passed the stage of talking; now, my friends, it is time that we demonstrate or do that of which we speak so much.

"Man in general, uses his vocal system much too much, and he does not use his eyes and his ears enough. Man of Earth must start doing and thinking. Now he must use and exercise this brain which his Creator so graciously gave to him.

"I hope, my friends, that each of you will work sincerely at Understanding. This word encompasses much. Think about it and then attempt to understand. Until understanding is accomplished by Earth Man, he shall not live in peace."

BULLETIN BOARD

The semi-annual Understanding National Meeting was held April 23 at Fresno, Calif. A report will be given in a future issue.

Another new unit has joined Understanding since the publication of last month's magazine. The new unit is No. 31 in MARIN COUNTY, Calif. It has been organized by Mary L. McAlpine of 186 Meerna Ave., Fairfax, Calif.

EL MONTE, Unit No. 1, presented Will and Evelyn Miller of Los Angeles, authors of "We the New Dimension" in a demonstration of communication during April.

VISTA, Unit No. 4 played host to Reinhold Schmidt as March speaker and Dr. John Hopkins of Williams College, Berkeley, in April.

ORANGE, Unit No. 7 recently entertained such speakers as Michael V. Barton, Reinhold Schmidt, Carl Anderson and James Velasquez.

SANTA CRUZ, Unit No. 9 heard Understanding National President Dan Fry in a talk on March 18. An April speaker was Hope Troxell, author of "Wisdom of the Universe."

PASADENA, Unit No. 12 hosted Rev. Margo Sylvester of the Brotherhood of Man, Canoga Park, Calif., as April speaker. Former unit president Hope Troxell was the subject of a recent feature article in the Los Angeles Times.

INGLEWOOD, Unit No. 15: Carl Anderson, author of "Two Nights to Remember," addressed the unit during April.
